"Soha!" Salaar once again called her out as she still focused on her work replying with a small 'hmm.'
"I can't find my favourite white cuban collar shirt! I've to take that one." He rummaged through the shirts hanging in his wardrobe once again.
Apparently, Salaar had secretly planned to take Soha to Dubai since they had gone to Switzerland after the marriage. He wanted to surprise her by revealing it at the airport and just told Soha to pack up her luggage since they had to go to a business party abroad, wasn't a lie though since he really was invited to one.
Soha wasn't taking his words seriously as yet since he wasn't telling her where were they going. She was busy in making her CV right now on the laptop.
"Check carefully na. It must be in there." She placed the certificates in the file still focused on her work.
"It's not! I checked very carefully and thoroughly." Salaar ruffled his hair looking at the mess of clothes he had created.
"Soha!" He again called her out in a childish tone. Soha sighed, and gave him a straight glare.
"If I find it in there, I tell you I'm gonna cut that shirt into pieces!" She stomped towards the cupboard as Salaar stepped back peeking in from behind her. There was no way she's going to-
"Kia hai yeh!?" She pulled out the shirt from the right corner of the cupboard, fisting it in her hand on his eye level. He visibly gulped looking at her and immediately grabbed it from her hand, hugging it close to him and giving her his famous cheeky grin.
"Shirt hai, meri. Shayid mere saath chupan chupai khel rahi thi, apse dar ke nikal ai!"
Soha didn't react and folded her arms still giving him a straight look making him pout.
"You've changed!" His lips formed into a straight line as Soha's brows scrunched together.
"What?" She placed her right hand on her waist giving him a questioning look now.
"I want the Soha from the first month of our marriage back." He looked upwards as if reminiscing that time.
"Ab wo kahan miley gi bhai!" A sudden voice interrupted them as they both looked towards the slightly open door of the room, with Shanzay peeking in her head.
She was here since Salaar had invited her to help him convince his stubborn and curious wife to go with him without finding out about the surprise.
"Shanzay ki bachi! Knock karne ki tameez nahi hai?" Soha gave her a deathly glare as Shanzay fully opened the door.
"Can I come in?" She asked while walking inside.
"You're already in Shanzay." Salaar chuckled at her.
"What do you want?" Soha squinted her eyes at her.
"Arey, you haven't started packing yet?" Shanzay chewed on the gum in her mouth, looking around the room, as she only found Salaar's bag there.
"Tumhe usse kia hai? Mai kar lungi!" Soha was already in a very bad mood since yesterday and everyone seemed to have been getting on her nerves more by each passing second. These damned mood swings!
"Here!" Shanzay threw a packet of mint bubblegum her way, which hit her right on her nose and dropped in her hand which had gotten up in reflex. "You'll need them to cool yourself down. Oh, and dimagh pack karna mat bhoolna apna saath."
Soha was stroding towards her as she completed her sentence and turned to run out of the room. She failed to save herself from the elder sister's slap which landed right on her back before she left with a loud shriek.
"Ow. I felt that." Salaar made a hurtful expression, lifting up his shoulders.
"I didn't even hit you!" Soha rolled her eyes at him.
"You have. You slapped me right on my face during your sleep on the very first night of our marriage, sleeping beauty." He revealed walking towards his bag while folding the white shirt in his hands.
"Oh my God! You never told me." Soha covered her mouth feeling embarrassed because of her stupid sleeping habits. "And....that wasn't intentional though. I was asleep!" She tried covering it up for her own self. Did she slap him hard?
"Yeah, if I would've, that Soha must've given a different reaction." Salaar made his way towards her as she wasn't meeting his eyes anymore.
"What do you mean? I'm not the Soha you know anymore?" She asked, giving him an offended look.
"I'm just kidding, Soha. Honestly, I missed this carefree version of you with me. Where my chubs would tease me and fight with me getting her crazy mood swings. Where we could be frank and say whatever we want to freely. When we were the bestest of friends, and I want us to be the best friend couple like this till the end."
He pulled her close by her forearm, as her hands landed on his chest.
"We've seen each other grow over the past years, and I can't be grateful enough to Allah for the bond that we share." He caressed her cheek as she melted with his touch, her lips breaking into a smile.
"I love you." She murmured teary eyed. She didn't know where the sudden confession came from, but he had always been good at handling her mood swings without any single complain.
"And I've fallen in love with each and every side of you, and I'll continue to love them till my last breath because, apke personality splits sirf mai hi handle kar sakta hun Mrs. Salaar."
He brushed his forehead with hers, smiling ear to ear.
Soha lightly hit his chest suppressing her laugh as he hugged her affectionately, while she placed her head on his chest, wrapping her arms around him.
//â¥ï¸ â¥ï¸ â¥ï¸//
"WOAH!" Soha's mouth was wide open, as she stared heavenwards at the tall building infront of her. "You're gonna break off your neck, madam." Salaar straightened her head, holding the sides of her jaw from his hands.
She still was in awe staring at the beautiful tower, the burj khalifa. When she had gotten to know that they were coming to Dubai at the airport, she literally screamed in excitement jumping on Salaar and giving him a tight koala hug, not caring about the weird glances of people around them. For Salaar, that one smile was enough reward for his surprise and he would never trade the world for that.
"Are we really going up there?" She once again asked him, her eyes twinkling with pure joy.
"Yes m'lady. Now please do the honours." He pointed ahead with his hand, as she grabbed onto his arm squealing, making him chuckle at her.
She really was excited for the party tonight.
She was wearing a white maxi, with golden embroidery on it, as Salaar matched his outfit with the colour of the work on it. The golden hair pin on her hair completed her glamorous look for tonight, as Salaar was wearing a bow tie, again matching with hers.
Soha greeted everyone happily as kindness laced her tone and the spark she held tonight shone too bright, as she got many compliments as well.
"I can't seem to handle the brightness of this twinkling spark today." Salaar dramatically shook his head, rubbing his eye.
Soha's smile remained plastered on her face as she nudged his arm. They were soon interrupted by a young woman making her way towards Salaar.
"Hey Salaar. How have you been?" She had a glass of drink in her hand, as her long red dress was going all the way behind her feet like a whole red carpet.
Not exaggerated but it was long that if she didn't collect it properly, the people walking behind were stepping on it to cross the path.
"I'm good Esme. How about you?" Salaar greeted with a polite smile as Soha's smile dropped while she stared at her dress being dragged on the ground and stomped on by people.
Before she could reply, a person passing close by her stepped on her dress almost causing her to stumble backwards. Salaar quickly bent forward, collecting her dress near to the side so it wouldn't come under anyone's feet.
Such a frigging gentleman. Soha gave him an irritated look noticing his gesture.
"Thank you, handsome." She grinned at him while staring at him in awe, slightly turning pink.
"Hello. I'm Soha, his wife. It's nice to meet you Esme?" Soha quickly forwarded her hand introducing herself, putting special emphasis on wife, as she placed her other hand around Salaar's arm.
"Oh, hey." The atmosphere turned awkward as they shook hands and Soha took her time shaking hands for quite a while.
"Nice dress, by the way. It looks like you brought a whole red carpet and decided to wear it in one piece." Soha pointed at her dress with a grin, making sure it sounded like a compliment and not a joke.
"Excuse me?" She gave Soha an offended look.
Salaar held Soha's hand as he laughed giving her a side stare. "She has a habit of joking. Don't take it seriously."
"If you say so." Her expressions again changed as she ogled at Salaar and Soha threw glares her way. Why wasn't she leaving and staring at him as if he was a candy?
Soha pulled Salaar towards herself by his arm as he slouched in her direction. Bringing her mouth close to his ear, she slowly whispered, "nikalo ise yahan se!" As he narrowed his eyes at her.
"I'll get going then." Almost sulking at the scene unfolding infront of her among the couple, she made her way towards the other side.
"Who was she?" Soha folded her arms, still glaring at the back of her head as she left.
"Are you jealous, by any chance right now?" Salaar gave her a playful look now, loving this cute side of hers as well.
"No, why would I be? Woh tou bass apko taarr sakti hai, meri tarha aapke gaal tou nahi kheench sakti na!" Soha pulled both his cheeks as he winced holding both her hands away from his now red cheeks.
"Soha! You know my cheeks are sensitive, why would you pull them so brutally!" He cried out in an irritated tone, as she retrieved her hands sulking and stepped away from him.
She didn't utter any other word and just stood there sulking while Salaar tried talking to her, not being able to resist the silence after some five minutes. Soon the lights were turned off, as the spotlights turned on for the dance.
Salaar held onto Soha's hand and guided them towards the spotlight in a corner as they stood there in their own tiny little world. He enfolded her in his arms by her waist and stroked her hair behind her ear slowly. Soha could hear her heart beat faster, as her anger almost melted away instantly.
"I'm all yours, Mrs. Soha Salaar Sohail." He placed her hand on his chest as she could feel his beating heart.
"Only mine." She whispered, trying to mask her flushed self behind the satisfied smile.
He stepped forward, closing the little bit of space between them, as he placed a lingering kiss on her forehead caressing her cheek.
"Forever yours."
"Mera dil bahar aa jae ga, bss kardein." She moved back, as Salaar chuckled looking at her shy face, her ears had turned red once again.
"You've my heart." Salaar pulled her into his embrace, kissing the top of her head over and over as Soha hid her face in his chest giggling.
