It was another normal day at work for Hashir. He had been in a meeting all day with one of another famous businessman, Zayn Shah.
(I couldn't think of a name so I just added the main character from before this story in it ð)
They had been planning to open a hotel together, something that would benefit the both of them.
"In my opinion, we should open a hotel in a growing city. Dubai already has a lot of luxurious hotels," Hashir voiced out his opinion.
Zayn was impressed with his ideas. Hashir was a quiet but smart person.
Rachel was sitting next to Hashir taking notes.
As another one of Hashirs representatives was speaking, his phone buzzed. Since it was face up, he could see the caller ID. It was Ameera. In these last few months, she never called Hashir while he was at work or even in general. She did whatever she wanted to herself.
"If it's important, you can attend to it," Zayn spoke out, after seeing Hashir staring at the phone. It was important Hashir guessed since she never called. Hashir hesitated before nodding at Zayn and accepting the call.
"Hashir," her voice quivered, another sob racking her body.
Hashir immediately stood up in concern. Her voice held so much pain. The last time he had gotten a call like this was when Ameera miscarried.
"Meeru? Is everything alright?" He questioned.
"Hashir, I don't know what's wrong with Hana. S-she's not responding and she has a really h-high temperature, and I just don't know what to d-do," she sobbed to her husband. Ameera hadnt even noticed the fact that her husband called her meeru. The nickname he had given her.
"Ok, you go to the hospital and I'll meet you there, ok?" He asked. Truth was Hashir was worried. Those big brownish grey eyes had been stuck in his mind.
"O-ok," Ameera answered. Hashir ended the call and looked up at Zayn apologetically.
"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'll have to cut this meeting short," Hashir started, "my daughter is in the hospital and I have to go there now,"
He hadn't realized he called Hana his daughter but Rachel definitely noticed.
"But Hashir, this is a really important meeting," Rachel tried.
"And Hana is in the hospital. I'm going," he said.
Before Rachel could speak up again and try to stop him, Zayn gave Hashir a smile and responded. "Don't worry about the meeting, it can always be rescheduled."
Hashir sent Zayn a thankful smile before rushing out, with Rachel staring at him, her jaw clenched.
"My daughter was admitted here, her name is Hana Hamdani," Hashir panted. He literally ran to the hospital. The nurse looked at him with pity before telling him she's on the 12th floor. Hashir rushed to the elevator and pressed 12.
As soon as he exited the elevator, he saw his wife bawling her eyes out on one of the chairs. Hashir advanced towards her.
"Meeru?" He questioned softly.
"Hashir!" Ameera immediately leaped in his arms and cried louder. Her head was on his chest soaking his dress shirt and her arms were wrapped around his waist. Hashir looked taken back but nonetheless circled one arm around her waist and the other was placed on the back of her head.
Ameera clutched onto Hashir harder, finding comfort in his arms.
After calming down, Hashir slowly moved back from Ameera and looked into her red eyes.
"What happened?" He gently asked.
"I don't know. She was perfectly fine in the morning and when I came back to check on her, her skin was all pale a-and she wasn't breathing," Ameera recalled what had happened earlier on in the day. Her heart was still thudding in her chest. She had been so scared when she saw Hana in that state. It was like reliving the night of her miscarriage all over.
"And what did the doctors say?"
"They just took her in and haven't came out since," she said, sniffling.
"Ok, did you eat breakfast? Should I get you something?" Ameera looked up at her husband to see concern and worry laced in his face.
"Just yesterday he wouldn't spare you a glance and now he's worried?" A voice in the back of her sneered.
"No, I-I'm not hungry," she said.
Before Hashir could say anything else, Amir and Ameera's parents came rushing in the hospital. Ameera's mom moved towards Ameera and embraced her in a hug.
"Beta, is everything alright? Ameera called us and we came as soon as we could,"
(Son)
"I don't know, baba. The doctors haven't said anything," Hashir replied to his father. Amir nodded.
After waiting about 5 more minutes, a doctor came out and walked towards the concerned family. Hashir immediately asked if Hana was alright.
"Thankfully she is out of critical condition now," he replied.
"Do you know what triggered this?" Ameera asked.
"Our guess is poison," he replied. "That's the only logical explanation to us,"
Ameera and her mom gasped.
Who would poison little Hana?
"Can we see her?" Hashir asked.
"Yes. We also suggest to keep her overnight in case she has another reaction," the doctor said. Hashir nodded and the doctor walked away. All five of them moved towards the room Hana was in. She was sleeping peacefully on the bed.
After staying for another 20 minutes, Ameera's parents left. Amir decided to go and get the couple food and after dropping off the burgers, he also left.
"Ameera, please, at least eat half of the burger," Hashir pleaded.
Ameera sighed and started to eat the burger while staring at Hana. She had prayed and thanked Allah for helping her in this difficult time, along with Hashir.
Hana had woken up an hour after Amir had left. Ameera was so happy to see her awake and laughing. She played with Hana and fed her before she fell asleep again.
It was now night time and both Ameera and Hashir were tired. The room only had a small bed which Hana was sleeping on and a cozy little one seater.
Hashir was seated on the one seater and stared at his wife who was gently caressing Hana's cheek.
"Come here, Ameera," Hashir demanded. Ameera looked at her husband before moving towards him. She stood in front of him, when suddenly she was pulled her to his lap making Ameera land on him with a yelp.
His strong arms were caging Ameera in and her face was in the crook of his neck. She was basically straddling him.
She silently laid on him, deep in thought.
"Hashir?"
"Hmm,"
"Why did you get so mad at Imaans birthday party when Zainab handed you Hana?" She questioned. Hashir tensed up. "Ever since she entered our lives, you've been more distant and you would always ignore her," He knew his wife would ask him this question sooner or later so he decided to answer truthfully.
"I...I felt like you were replacing our daughter," he finally let out. "It didn't settle well with me that you gave the love to Hana that you should only give to our child," he said.
Ameera moved back and looked at him in surprise. She didn't know Hashir felt this way.
"Hashir...that was never my intention. I always thought of Hana as a blessing form Allah. It was as if he took one precious thing from us and gave us another," she softly explained while caressing his cheek.
"I know it was wrong of me but...," he trailed off and tears fell from his eyes. "I'm sorry Ameera. I'm really, really sorry. I hurt you so much without realizing. It was wrong of me to blame you and wrong of me to neglect an innocent child," he sobbed out.
Ameera wiped them tears from his face.
"I don't deserve you. I've done and said such horrible things to you. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if you want. I'll do whatever to earn your forgiveness but please, don't leave me," he said.
Ameera looked in his eyes that were full of regret and hopelessness. The tears weren't stopping anytime soon from both their eyes.
She cupped his face in her hands. "It's ok, Hashir. Please don't cry," she murmured.
"But it's not Ameera. I've hurt so bad and now that I've realized, your already forgiving me?" He questioned.
"Hashir, I love you and now that you've realized you made a mistake and regret it, then who am I not to forgive you. Everyone makes mistakes. We should learn to forgive, not hold a grudge against someone," she softly said. He looked at her with his big eyes full of tears. He looked like a little kid full of innocence.
Hashir snuggled his head into the crook of her neck and sighed in contentment. Ameera gently ran her fingers through his hair.
A frown appeared on Ameera's face and she backed away from Hashir. Hashir who was half asleep woke up when his wife moved away from him.
"Who do you think would poison Hana?" Ameera questioned. Who would want to poison a little innocent child?
"I don't know but I will find out," he said, determination seeping through his words. "And they won't live to see another day,"
Ameera smiled at his newfound determination. She had seen Hashir warming up to Hana. He was even playing with her when she was praying earlier in the day.
Ameera nodded her head. "Hashir I want you to know that the cause of the misc-," she started.
"Shh," Hashir hushed her, "it's getting late. We'll talk tomorrow," he said.
"But-,"
"Tomorrow, Ameera," Ameera looked defeated but nodded her head anyways.
He kissed her forehead and she buried her face in neck and tightened her arms around him.
Liar.
That's what Hashir was.
He knew who tried to poison Hana, but didn't say anything for the sake of Ameera or else she wouldn't have rested until she made sure the person got what they deserved. He looked down at his wife and kissed her forehead once again, before tightening his hold on her and falling asleep.

Bruh this was a lot of words, more then I usually have
The reason why Ameera gave Hashir was because he was genuinely sorry. He realized his mistake and she really loved him too so she forgave him. He even cried ð¥º
Am I the only one that can't see emotions in someone's eyes? Like how the hell can you read someone's eyes?
Anyways what do you think will happen next?
