Dennis paid for the Ice-creams and his food items and Chelsea paid for her things. They entered one of the restaurant in the mall, to get something to eat.
" What will you like to eat?" Dennis asked Chelsea after they got there and sat down and were looking at the menu.
" I can see they have hamburger, with fries and a drink which is 2000naira. But it is expensive , so I will go with the plate of fried rice, with chicken and a bottle a 50cl Coca-Cola drink, which is 1500naira. Hope it is not too expensive, I can choose something else" Chelsea told him.
" No, it is not. If you want the burger, fries and drink, order it. I can still get it for you. You don't have to worry about the price. I'm the one paying, so I don't see why that is bothering you, I came prepared" Dennis asked her.
" No, the rice is okay" She told him.
He reluctantly agreed, and went to place their order and came back to sit down. The server after some minutes, came to serve them, their food. He ordered the same thing for Both of them.
" So tell me more about yourself?" Dennis asked in the middle of the meal.
" What do you want to know?, Things like what?" She asked.
" I know you are feisty, bold and you are not afraid to say what you think" Dennis told her.
" Who told you that ?" She asked about her being bold.
" I don't have to be told, I'm seeing and noticing it myself" He told her, " But I don't know your likes and dislikes, and don't know the kind of person you are. So tell me all have and need to know" He told her.
" What do you want to know?" She asked, " But you will also tell me the things I also need to know" She told him.
" No problem" He agreed, " So I will start by asking what's your favorite colour or should I say colours?" Dennis asked.
" Well my favorite colour is red, I also like pink especially combined with blue" She answered, "Â What about yours?" She asked.
" Mine is blue, I just like the colour of the sky. So it's sky blue to be specific" He told her.
" It is my turn to ask, what did you study in school?" She asked.
" I studied Economics and Marketing" He told.
" Wow!, how come?" She asked.
" I majored in Economics in my undergraduate level for my BSC, While I studied Marketing during my masters degree" He answered.
" That's great. If I am going to go for my masters, I will like to major on Entrepreneurship and Innovation" She told him.
" That's great, and you are an entrepreneur already" He said.
" That's true. So you are an Economics and you are calling me one" She said to him.
" Well, what can I say you behave , more like us than I do" He said, " So how many siblings do you have?" He asked.
" Well I'm an only child, except I would have liked to have siblings, but that's just how it is " She replied.
" Well unlike you, I sometimes wish I was an only child, but I do love my sister's" Dennis told her.
" Nora and Dora right?" She asked.
" Yes" He answered.
" They are wonderful young ladies" She told him.
" Yes they are" He said, " I forgot to ask, which course did you study in school?" He asked.
" But it is my turn to ask you" She said.
" If you answer this, you can ask two questions straight" He told her.
" But why two, why not 3 or even 4, because you took my turn?" She asked playfully.
" Because it is fair" He answered playfully.
" Okay, if you say so. To answer your question, I studied Business Administration in school" She told him.
" No wonder you are into business and even run your own business" He said.
" Please stop being stereotypical, not only people who studied business administration are into business. I can as well also work in a company, but I choosed to start my own business, because of my love for all things businesses"Â She told him
" Sorry don't mean to offend you. I was just trying to get the link to why you like business and stating my observation on why you like business, although I don't still get the link to teaching" He apologized , "But didn't know you will be touchy about my statement and for that I'm sorry. Sometimes you can be so touchy about things" He said unhappily.
" Sorry, that's just me, I guess this is our first disagreement as friends" She said to him.
" No, this is not our first disagreement and I'm sure it wouldn't be our last. We have been quarrelling and disagreeing from the start, but that is one of the reasonI like you. You don't always agree with everything I say" He said.
" Isn't that suppose to be a bad thing?" She asked him in surprise.
" No, it is not, I'm sick and tired of people always agreeing with me" He told her.
"But are not suppose to be happy?" She asked, "I on the other hand, is always told I'm wrong. I did be happy to have people that agree with me, although not Every time" She told him
"When people do that, you always believe you are right and while you are not" He told her.
" That's true" She agreed with him.
" That's why although we argue, I like our friendship, because the way we handle our disagreements, that's all that matters. And I'm happy we both always behave mature whenever we have disagreements, by apologizing to each other" He told her.
" You are welcome" She said.
" That is not a compliment" He told her.
" I'm taking it as one" She told him.
" Whatever pleases you my Queen" He said playfully, with the bow of his head and she laughs.
" You are so funny and playful too" She told him, as she smiles at him fondly.
" Thank you" He said as he smiles back.
" That's not a compliment" She told him, trying to get him back, because he said the same to her.
" I will take it as one" He replied, " Let's go back to our questions" He said to her.
" Okay, so what's your favorite food?" She asked.
" Mine is Fried palm beans and Fried plantain" He answered, " Although I also like Banga Soup and Eba" He added, " So what's yours?" He asked.
" Mine is Owo and Starch" She answered, " Since my dad is an Urohbo man, he likes it so much that my mum had to learn how to cook it. Not because he forced her, but because she wants to make him happy, since they are not from the same tribe. My dad is an Urohbo man, while my mum is an Ukwani woman" She informs him, " So through continual eating of it at home, I fell in love with it" She told him finally.
"Wow, That's such a wonderful story and your parents broke the inter-tribal barriers that usually occurs in marriage by getting married to someone from another tribe and your mum showed her love by learning how to cook your dad's favorite food. Since there is different types of food, in different culture and ethic group" He said.
" Yeah, that sums it all up. And you said I told a story" She joke, because of how long he talked.
" Yeah you are right" He agreed with her, " And that's how I want our love to be" He told her with the biggest smile and grin on his face.
" You are such a romantic, gees" She said playfully, while blushing.
" I'm not" He said to her, " I just love love or should I say I'm in love with love" He told her.
" Well that's what it means to be in love" Chelsea told him in a matter of fact was.
" Well, if so ; I am man enough to admit it, but don'tlet my friends know about it and don't tell them when you meet them" He told her.
" Why not?" She asked.
" They will see it as an opportunity to tease the hell out of me" He told her.
" Well, I'm woman enough to tell you, that your secret is safe with me" She told him, " But I will tell you, that I find you being a romantic; Endearing" She told him with a smile.
" That's a compliment I will accept , I will say thank you to that. And I find you saying that so cute and sweet" He told her with a grin.
