Chapter 47
" Well that's enough argument for today" He said, " But I can still walk you to the gate. Both of us walking to the gate does not make us friends or anything more" He insisted.
" I want to say bye to my friend " Kevwe declined again.
" That's okay" He said finally in defeat, " I will like to say hi to Chelsea too" He told her, wanting to see Chelsea and also to prolong his stay and time with Kevwe, showing you can't actually control the kind of people you like or why you like them, the heart is just like that unfortunately we can't control it most times, but we can control a little of how and how much the people we like hurt us , just like one writer said ; " No one has actually died of heartbreak", which is a little true, but it might be possible people actually die of heartbreak because it might depend on how it hurts and how bad the depression that it lead to hurts, we all just pray that broken hearts will be mended.
" Have you even met her?" Kevwe asked, not believing his earlier statement that he knew Chelsea
" Yes I have" He told her .
" Your choice" Kevwe replied, as they both walked towards the kitchen where Chelsea was.
" Chelsea" Kevwe called out " I'm off" She told her best friend Chelsea.
" Okay, see you at home " Chelsea replied.
" There is someone here that wants to say hi to you " Kevwe informs Chelsea, seeing as Chelsea's back was facing them and she didn't notice or see Lucas as she was busy washing the dishes.
" Oh hi" Chelsea said on seeing Lucas when she turned around, " Sorry I didn't see you there" She apologized.
" Hi Chelsea, remember me" Lucas asked.
" Yes I do, Dennis's friend " Chelsea answered.
" That's me" Lucas said in agreement, " But you can call me Dennis's unofficial best friend " He jokes.
"NO Problem " She agreed, " Sorry for my reaction that day" Chelsea apologized for her behavior towards Dennis in front of Lucas the day they met for the first time.
" No, problem. The hard feelings" Lucas replied, accepting her apology.
" So what brings you here and how do you know my best friend?" Chelsea asked.
" I came for a meeting " Lucas replied in a manner in which his reason will sound sufisticated .
" Oh" Chelsea replied.
" With Kevwe here" He told her.
" So that's how you know her" Chelsea said, " She never told me she had a meeting here with you" She told him.
" Correction Client " Kevwe told Chelsea, inorder to correct any notion that Chelsea might have that she and Lucas were there for anything other than a business meeting from Lucas reply about their meeting.
" Yeah client" Chelsea replied not believing her friend and will pull Kevwe's legs later just as she pulled hers about Dennis, because from the way Lucas was starring at Kevwe you would think they had any other type of meeting, than a business meeting.
" Okay Chelsea, see you at home" Kevwe said with a warning in her voice. She has already guessed what was going on in her friends mind and that the wheels in Chelsea's brains are already turning.
" Okay see you" Chelsea replied, " We will catch up at home " Chelsea told her, with an indirect hint on furher discussion of Kevwe's meeting with Lucas.
" Okay see you Chelsea" Lucas told her.
" See you too" Chelsea told Lucas, " It was nice meeting you again. I hope to see you around regularly and I also hope next time will be longer" She added, referring to his friendship with Dennis and the unanswered question of is relationship with Kevwe, because Kevwe only bring guys to her shop if she wants Chelsea to scale them, but she didn't even give Chelsea a notice of her meeting with Lucas. She is beginning to think it was just a business meeting after all and her day dream of her best friend finally finding love was short lived. Not to worry another opportunity will come and she can as well try to be a matchmaker for this one. Although Kevwe has been hurt a lot, she still deserves to find love and to be love.
"Look at me behaving like an expert of love, just because I found love" Chelsea thought to herself.
" Bye" They both bid Chelsea.
" Bye to you two" Chelsea replied, as Lucas walked out with Kevwe.
Kevwe might not have noticed, but Lucas got his opportunity to walk her to the gate after all. But Kevwe didn't also want Chelsea to be left alone with Lucas, because Chelsea was a busy body sometimes. She might try to acquire informations about Kevwe's meeting from Lucas. And Lucas from what Kevwe has learnt about from this their meeting, he has a very big mouth , not to be offensive to him. And he can't keep his feeling in check or hidden and Chelsea detected it when she insinuated that from the look that Lucas was giving Kevwe, that both of them were something more, which they weren't.
And Lucas will confess is feelings sooner to Chelsea, that's if her instinct were right about his feelings. Although he denied it , Chelsea will capitalize on that, inorder to get her to find love and be happy, because in Chelsea's dictionary right now since she met Dennis and found love, she believes everyone needs love and love makes the world go round and Kevwe prays that Dennis love last forever ever , just as she believes and have advised Chelsea to believe too.
" Okay, I think we will be saying bye from this point" Kevwe told Lucas on getting to the gate.
" This is my card " Lucas said , as he stretched out his card to her," if you change your mind, give me a call" He told her.
" Change my mind about what?" She asked.
" My offer " He replied .
" Which offer?" She asked again.
" You know" He said putting his card in her hand and trying to end their conversation, before it leads to another fight or argument, " It wouldn't bite you" He said and gave her a air kiss, " Bye" He added.
" Bye" Kevwe replied, still looking at his card in her hand dumbfounded and raised her head, as she watched him stop a vehicle, got in and the vehicle drove off, with her still standing at the gate of the building were Chelsea's restaurant is located. Until she came out of her trance and also stoped a vehicle and left Chelsea's restaurant premises with Lucas's card in her handbag
