Chapter 52: CHAPTER 49

" Hello my love " Dennis greeted Chelsea as he called her, after he got home.

" You have started" Chelsea said as she laughed.

" Why wouldn't I start when I'm talking to you. Don't you know you are the switch to my lightbulb " He told her.

" Oh, stop it" She said blushing and happily.

" I bet you are blushing now, you need to pay me for making you laugh, don't you know people pay to sit down and listen to life comedy shows" He told her, proud of his funny bones and ability to crack her up , by making her laugh easily.

" I will pay you later" She told.

" Throw me a kiss, that will my payment " He informs her, " Getting people to laugh is not cheap " He added.

" DENNIS!, you are so incorrigible" She exclaimed at his boldness.

" Don't worry , soon you will give me air kisses and actual kisses too. Especially when we are legally married" He promised her.

" If we get married, you mean" She replied, trying to pull his leg

" If that is joke, stop it; I don't like it. It will happen and we are almost there " He warns assuredly.

" Okay, I pray your wishes for us come through " She prayed.

" Amen " He agreed," So how have you been?" Dennis asked.

" You just saw me today" Chelsea laughed again and giggled, " I have been fine, you?" She replied and asked.

" I have been fine" He answered, " How was business today?" He asked.

" It was fine, thank God" Chelsea replied, " What about work?" She asked him.

" It was fine" He replied, " I'm missing you already" He told her lovingly.

" I guess me too " She replied.

" You guess or you do miss me " He asked.

" Okay, I do " She said blushing as if he can see her through the phone , when they are not on video call.

" That's wonderful to hear, So what did you eat this evening my love ?" He asked her.

" I'm eating right now, but had to stop when you called me" She answered.

" Oh sorry for the interruption " He apologized.

" No problem, you can interrupt me anytime " She said.

" Oh, so sweet. I will hold you to what you just said" He said as he laughed.

" Okay. I'm eating Eba and ogbono soup" She told him.

" Wow, hope it is very delicious?" He asked.

" Yes, it is " She replied, " Why not?" She asked.

" Yes it is surely delicious, why not my love cooked it. If you didn't cook a delicious food, who would?" He asked laughing, " Send mine through Bluetooth or Xender" He told her.

" Okay" She replied, " This one you are praising me and buttering me up, hope I'm not in trouble?" She asked.

" What do you mean " He asked , " Can't I call my wife to be and compliment her?" He asked her.

" You don't Just call someone and compliment them, you already know that your recharge card is burning, or don't you?" She asked.

" Of course I do, but anything for my love" He answered.

" So romantic, but I'm not buying it" She told him.

" What can I do for you or should I say what do you need or want " She asked him straight or right out.

" Okay, okay you got me" He replied in surrender.

" Can you give me Kevwe's number?" He asked muttering.

" What do you need Kevwe's number for?" She asked surprised at his request, not that it was wrong; but it was all of a sudden and out of the blue, " Are you already getting over me" She accused him lightheartedly.

" No of course, I will never be tired of you or over you " He told her, " You and I are for life" He reassured her affectionately.

" We better be" She warns playfully, " So what do you want or need my friend's number for?" She asked him.

" I need it for a friend of my " He replied.

" Do I know this friend of yours?" She asked.

" Yes, you do" He answered.

" Might it be Lucas, because right now he is the only friend of yours I know ?" She asked

" Well I have other friends too and don't worry I will introduce them soon. This thing between us, I mean our love is not a shameful secret. But a love I'm so proud of and I'm to publicize it on the mountain top if you want " He told her.

" It's okay , I don't feel like you don't want to introduce me to your friends. I didn't say what I said because of that. I know you will introduce me to them when we can get there" She agreed with him.

" How did you know it was Lucas and that was the name of the person that asked me for her number?" Dennis asked," Did I give it away that easily?, Lucas wouldn't be happy about this" He said to himself.

" Why, does he want it to be a secret?" She asked.

" Not really " Dennis replied.

" Well, if he wanted it to be a secret, he should have control his feelings that was written all over his face " She said, " I saw him with Kevwe this afternoon, at my restaurant" Chelsea informs him.

" Yes, that's right. Lucas told me" He said to her.

" But if they met today and had launch, why didn't he collect her number?" Chelsea asked.

" That was what I asked too" He told her, " Well, because he was a little bit shy and didn't want her to refuse to give it to him. Although he gave her his, but he isn't sure she would even call him " He informs her.

" Why wouldn't she give him her number or even call him?" She asked, " And the two time I met Lucas , he didn't look shy" She said to Dennis.

" Well he is shy around her , you get" He told her.

" Wait, wait does he like, like Kevwe?" She asked, finally putting all the piece of the puzzle in her head about Kevwe and Lucas together.

" Yes, he does" Dennis admitted.

" This is bad " Chelsea told him.

" Why?" He asked, shocked at her reaction.

" What if he or they spoil things for us?" She asked.

" That's so wrong and selfish of you, although I also said this same thing and Lucas was offended. I can see why now , since it is not coming from my mouth. What we should be concerned with is the possibility of our friends finding happiness like us" He advised, " And how would they spoil things for us?" He asked.

" And I'm happy you realize, believe and agree we have something going on between us " He added.

" Of course we do , must I always spell it out to you " She told him,

" " Yes, you do with the way you are always acting uninterested in and ignorant to my love for you, most of the time. I do need assurance and for you to spell out all your feelings all the time, till I'm assured" He told her.

" Okay, sorry for behaving uninterested in and ignorant to your feelings, like I didn't care. I do care , a lot at that. I didn't want to be hurt and I was a little bit afraid and insecure" She told him sincerely, apologizing for all her insensitive behavior towards his feelings.

" I accept your apology" He accepted her apology, " But I'm shocked that you were afraid of little old me" He said to her dumfounded.

" Oh , please you head should not get inflected more than this. Don't allow your head to get bigger than this" She joked.

" It is your head that is big" He throws back at her.

" Forget about that. I'm sorry about what I just said, it was an impulsive reaction on my part. And it was inhuman and insensitive of me to say that. Kevwe has helped me a lot to realize your love for me is genuine, not that I don't believe in it. I do now " She confessed and admitted.

" I understand, this is new for us and we don't want it to be reuined, but they both deserve love too" He told her, " Don't you think so?" He asked.

" Yes they do" She agreed , "But what if doesn't work out, wouldn't it be awkward for them, for all of us?" She asked unsure.

" Don't say that or think about it" He advised, "Although age gap is already a problem " He told her.

" Lucas can't be that old" Chelsea said.

" Not Lucas, apparently Kevwe is older than him" He told her.

" Really, are you sure" She asked," He doesn't look younger, although I will say he is handsome " She added.

" Are you trying to make me jealous or something, saying that my friend is handsome?" He asked jealous.

" Come on be serious for ones , Dennis. My God, I'm not attracted to your friend. I'm just saying what every living person will say when they look at your friend, at first glance" She assured him.

" You better be " He warns, " But She is older by only one year " He argued.

" That's not a big or huge age gap" She muttered, " Who made that statement, Lucas right?" She asked.

" Of course my friend will never say such a ting , especially about the matters of the heart" He said to her in outrage.

" But mine wouldn't say that. Kevwe has never told me such a thing or is it that she doesn't like Lucas" She said.

" Of course she can't not like Lucas, what is there not like?" He asked, " Have you actually seen my friend, because I thought you said you have and at a glance you knew and have seen he is handsome " He argued, defending his friends honour.

" What do you mean by that?" She asked, getting fired up.

" My friend is not only handsome, but well spoken, classy , humble, the list goes on" He told her in a matter of fact way, " it is so long. Should I continue?" He asked

" And my friend is not all that?" She asked outraged.

" That's not what I'm saying. I meant...." He said , as she cuts him shut.

" If you say so. Keep your explaination to yourself " She said to him.

" Babe, it hasn't gotten to this" He pleaded.

" I was just pulling your legs, before you kill me with this much explanation for only phone number " She said to him.

" This is not just a number to my friend, but a hope for the future. And if you get to know Lucas, with time you will know he respects women " He told her .

" You mean women in plural?" She teased him.

" For God's sake, I mean women in general and a particular woman when he is interested in her" He insisted, " And top teasing me " He added, getting that she was pulling his legs.

" So would you give me her number?" He asked.

" I will ask her first " She replied.

" Do you think I will ask for it, If I know or Lucas knows she will give it to him?" He asked her, "Then he would have gone directly to her" He told her.

" Okay, I will send it to you. But it better not be for you " She warns him.

" Of course it is for him, I will never do such a thing. To descend so low as to cheat with my girls friend, her best friend for that matter" He said unhappily, " This why I say you don't know and actually trust me yet. But I believe with time you will " He added.

" I'm sorry if that was ash of me. I'm sorry, I'm just learning to trust people these days; Since a lot of people have broken and played with my trust" She said, as she gave him a brief glance into her soul with this information, to help him understand her, that she isn't just acting hard to get or being difficult, but because she has been hurt a lot by those she trust and that actually changed her and made her not to trust so easily, and be more careful with people and guarded with her trust, heart and everything else. But she is willing to give Dennis a chance.and see if she was worthy of his unwavering love that he is demonstrating

" Okay, but he shouldn't hurt her feeling " She warns him.

" He wouldn't " He replied.

" Okay, I will send it to you, my food is getting cold, good night" She asked to him.

" Hope, you don't value the food more than me?" He asked.

" Of course not " She replied, " You come first everytime"He added.

" I'm so happy to hear that, thank you" He appreciated her confession of his importance in her life.

" Thank God and you are welcome my love" She replied.

" Okay, I Goodnight my love. Remember to send it" He told her.

" Yes, I will, bye dear" She bid him.

" Bye dear" He replied as she cut the call and immediately sent the number, Incase Kevwe refuse for her to send the number when she asks her. And ate her food.
