Noor's POV

I kicked off my shoes at the door, the familiar chaos of home greeting me like an old friend.

"Noor! How was your first day?" Mom's voice floated from the kitchen, a mix of curiosity and warmth.

“Normal.” I replied.

“Just normal? You’re a college student now! There must have been some drama!” Dad chimed in, peering over his glasses.

“Drama? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I mean, I didn’t trip and fall in front of the whole class or anything,” I laughed, heading towards the kitchen.

“But I did find out my math professor is a serious no-nonsense type.”

“Oh, that sounds riveting!” Dad teased, but I could see the pride in his eyes.

Mom chuckled, stirring something in a pot. "I remember your father’s math lectures. He was always quite the... entertainer."

"Entertainer? More like a sleep-inducer," I teased. “I’ll take my chances with the jungle.”

After a quick dinner filled with laughter and playful banter, I retreated to my room. I flopped onto my bed, pulling out my phone.

The WhatsApp group chat with Arushi and Arav lit up my screen, and I couldn’t help but smile.

Arushi: “So, did you survive the epic battle today?”

Arav: “I heard the math professor is a tyrant.”

I quickly typed back. “All I can say is: I’m alive.”

I hit send, giggling. Just as I was about to dive into another round of memes, sleep caught up with me, and I drifted off, dreaming of math equations and epic battles.

The next morning, I walked into college with a swagger that could rival a catwalk model.

Arushi and Arav were already at our usual table in the canteen, and I slid into the seat next to Arav, who was pretending to study but was clearly just scrolling through his phone.

“Morning, sleepyhead!” Arushi chirped, her hair bouncing as she leaned forward with enthusiasm. “Ready to face the math monster again?”

I smirked, tapping my pen against the table. “I’m armed but he's Crocodile.”

Before I could elaborate, the door swung open, and in walked Crocodile, our mathematics professor.

He was tall, with a somewhat intimidating presence, but today, my focus was solely on my pen. I twisted it between my fingers, lost in thought.

“Good morning, class,” he began, his voice deep and commanding.

“Today, we’ll dive into the world of calculus.”

I couldn’t help but let my pen dance between my fingers, tapping against the desk, my mind wandering far from derivatives.

As I absentmindedly flicked the cap off my pen, it launched into the air like a tiny missile, hitting Crocodile squarely on the head with a soft thud.

The entire class fell silent, and I froze, eyes wide.

He turned slowly, his expression shifting from surprise to a simmering glare. I bit my lip, trying to stifle the giggle bubbling up inside me.

“Ms. Sharma, care to explain this nonsense?” His voice was dangerously low.

“Uh, just a mistake that reached you, sir!” I managed to squeak out, unable to hold back my giggles.

He crossed his arms, the corner of his mouth twitching. “Well, keep your mistakes to yourself, Ms. Sharma.”

🎀[Maza aara hai?? Ab vote kardo kyuki tumhara hi fayda hai; update jaldi milega]🎀

I sank into my seat, mortified but amused. The chuckles around me only added to my embarrassment, but I couldn’t help but enjoy the moment.

As the lecture continued, my mind wandered. I played with my pen, doodling little stick figures in the margins of my notebook, pretending they were battling Reyansh in a math duel.

When the bell rang, I practically bolted for the canteen. Arushi and Arav followed, and as we settled into our seats with plates of food, a familiar figure approached our table.

Karan Grover, the campus playboy, sauntered over, his confidence radiating like cologne on a hot day.

“Hey, Noor,” he smirked, leaning casually against the table. “Are you single?”

I raised an eyebrow, suppressing a laugh. “Why? Is there a sale on bad pickup lines today?”

Arushi burst out laughing, and Arav choked on his juice. Karan feigned offense, placing his hand over his heart.

“Ouch! That one hurts. But seriously, I could show you a good time.”

I leaned back, crossing my arms with a grin. “Thanks, but I’m not in the market for a discount romance. I’m saving up for something... better.”

Karan looked momentarily taken aback, but he recovered quickly. “You know, I like challenges.”

“Good for you,” I said, taking a bite of my sandwich. “But mujhe jeetne ke liye--you need more charm. Maybe try a personality first.”

Arav snorted, and Karan looked around, clearly trying to gauge how well his reputation was holding up. “You think you’re funny, huh?”

“Funny is my middle name,” I shot back, my smirk widening. “But you can call me ‘Noor the Unbothered.’”

As Karan walked away, looking slightly defeated, Arushi and Arav erupted into laughter. “You totally schooled him!” Arushi said, high-fiving me.

“Who knew you had such a savage side?” Arav chuckled, wiping tears from his eyes.

“Just doing my part to keep the playboys in check,” I replied, feeling a surge of confidence.

The rest of the day flew by in a blur of classes and laughter. Crocodile was still grumpy, but I couldn’t resist making faces at him when he turned his back.

I could feel our little rivalry blossoming, and I was all too happy to fuel the fire.

After classes, we decided to hang out in the campus courtyard.

The sun was dipping low, casting a golden glow over the scene. Arushi was scrolling through her phone, while Arav was trying to convince her to join him for a game of basketball.

“No way! I’d rather watch paint dry,” she protested, rolling her eyes.

“Come on, it’ll be fun! You can cheer me on!” Arav pleaded, giving her puppy-dog eyes.

I leaned back on the grass, watching the two of them banter. “You know, Arushi, I think he needs a cheerleader. Just imagine—‘Go Arav, go!’”

Arushi shot me a glare. “I’m not your backup singer, Noor.”

“Maybe you should consider it. It could be a lucrative side gig.” I laughed, enjoying their playful dynamic.

Reyansh's POV

As I strolled into the courtyard, the familiar cacophony of laughter and chatter hit me like a wave.

It was the kind of day that made you want to kick off your shoes and join in the fun, but alas, my responsibilities as a mathematics professor were calling.

“Hello Sir!” Aarav’s voice boomed across the courtyard, drawing my attention to the trio gathered by the basketball court.

Noor, with her wild curls bouncing as she laughed, stood at the center of their little huddle.

I could never quite figure out if those curls were a testament to her chaotic spirit or just her unwillingness to tame them. Probably both.

“Wanna join us for a game?” Aarav asked, the basketball tucked under his arm like a trophy.

I chuckled, shaking my head. “Thanks, but I’ve got a mountain of papers to grade. Can’t spend my time shooting hoops when I’ve got equations begging for attention.”

“Oh come on, Sir! Just one game!” Arushi chimed in, her bright eyes sparkling with mischief. “It’ll be fun! Think of it as… a break from the monotony of ‘x’ and ‘y’!”

“Nope, I’m loyal to my work,” I replied, feigning a groan. “And it’s a very demanding relationship.”

Noor leaned against the fence, arms crossed, a grin plastered on her face.

“You know Sir, the only thing worse than being loyal to your work is being married to a boring life. You should really lighten up.”

“Lighten up? The last time I took a break, I lost two hours to Netflix and ended up binge-watching a show about competitive knitting,” I shot back, earning a round of laughter from the group.

Noor’s laughter was contagious, ringing out like a melody that danced on the air.

“Competitive knitting? Wow, that’s a new low,” Aarav teased, throwing the basketball up and catching it with a playful bounce.

“Hey, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Those grandmas are fierce!” I retorted, crossing my arms defensively.

The truth was, I had an eye on Noor, not just for her chaotic energy but for the way she made even the dullest moments sparkle.

“Admit it, you’re just scared we’ll wipe the floor with you,” Arushi teased, nudging Aarav, who looked all too proud of himself.

“Scared? Nah, I just prefer to keep my dignity intact.” I shot a sidelong glance at Noor, who was now pretending to dribble an imaginary basketball, her face a comical mix of concentration and glee.

“Besides, I can’t risk getting trampled by your wild antics, Noor.”

She paused, eyebrows raised, a challenge igniting in her eyes. “Trampled? Is that a dare, Professor? Because I’m all in for a little chaos.”

“Chaos? We’re talking about a mathematical disaster waiting to happen,” I said, smirking.

“But if I do join, I expect a solid strategy, not just your usual ‘let’s wing it’ approach.”

“Strategy? We don’t need no stinkin’ strategy! Just follow my lead!” Aarav exclaimed, puffing out his chest.

“Lead? Really? Your lead would probably get us lost in the nearest ice cream shop,” I replied, laughing at the absurdity.

“Now that’s a lead I could get behind!” Noor chimed in, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

“But seriously, Sir, don’t be a spoilsport. Join us. Or are you too busy being the boring professor?”

“Fine, fine!” I relented, unable to resist her infectious energy. “But if things go awry, I’m blaming you.”

“Deal!” she shouted, bouncing on her toes. “Just remember, chaos is my middle name!”

And as I stepped onto the court, I realized that perhaps it was time to embrace a little chaos myself.
