After the school ended, I got home and yelled, "momma, I'm home". She didn't reply so I threw my bag on the couch and made my way to the kitchen.
When I reached the kitchen counter, I saw her crying while dad had his head in his hands looking stressed. I walked over to them and sat on the chair worried.
"What is it? Why are you crying momma and daddy why do you look stressed?" I asked placing my hand on mom's shoulder.
Mom wiped her tears as dad looked up from his hand. "Sweety, your dad is facing crisis in his office. T-the company he worked for got b-bankrupt *hiccups*
a-and his boss is blaming it on your d-dad." Mom sobs then continue, "your dad tried to convince his boss that he didn't do anything but h-his boss w-won't list-ten. He has given three d-days to prove his innocence, but your dad don't know how to prove him." She ended and I was on the verge of crying.
Dad has always been the cheerful one. I can't bear to see him this torn, it hurts me to see my parents struggling.
"Don't worry baby, I'll find a way to prove my loyalty. I have something in mind so, I don't want my favourite ladies to cry like this." Dad tried to cheer us up by hiding his pain.
"What if you don't get help? You'll get arrested Michael, please do something" my mom sobbed as dad pulled her in a hug. 'So this was the reason he drank alcohol yesterday' I thought.
How will I tell them about the trip in such a condition. How can I be in peace and enjoy when my parents are struggling. I think I'll have to just remove the plan of trip from my head.
Dad hugged me and we three sat there hugging for a while. When dad pulled us apart, he assured that he will come up with a proof and wiped our tears.
I got to my room and had a quick shower. Mom had gotten better and was making us dinner. I went down to the kitchen to help mom. After few minutes, the dinner was ready. Mom set the dishes on the table while I went to call dad for dinner.
We were eating dinner when mom asked me, "Kia, you were going to tell us something yesterday, what was it?"
"Momma it doesn't matter now" I said looking at her and smiling. "Baby, tell us. What did you wanna say?" Dad asked me this time. I sighed, "well...our school decided a trip for us seniors to Yosemite. So I wanted ask for permission but it's fine, if I won't go."
"Why would you think we won't let you go? Go and have fun," dad said smiling. "But- dad interrupted me, "no buts, you don't worry about me. Your permission has been granted and I don't want you worrying about us." He said sternly and I nodded.
After dinner, I took my form and went to dad for his signature. He happily signed it telling me to enjoy to the fullest.
I was happy but worried too. I have never seen my parents in this much stress and it won't be fair if I enjoy myself while my momma and daddy is struggling.
Later at night, I messaged Carrie telling that I'm going to the trip.

I woke up and got ready for school wearing a baby blue top and white jeans, applied some lip gloss and went downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning momma" I greeted her kissing her cheeks. "Good morning Kia" she greeted back and placed my breakfast i.e bacon, scrambled eggs and a glass of juice. "Where is dad?" I asked while eating. "He went to find out some help" she said and smiled sadly. "Momma don't worry, dad will find a way to fix it." I assured her. "I know sweety, I know," she said and sat beside me.
After eating I bid her a good bye and made my way to school.
"Good morning Kia!" a familiar voice greeted me. "Morning" I smiled. "So...what happened to your dad?" Aiden asked to which I replied, "he is blamed for being the reason of bankruptcy in his office" I told him. He nodded his head then further asked, "is he okay?" I nodded my head, "a little stressed".
We made our way to the class as we both had psychology. We were a little late so we didn't meet our friends and directly walked to class.
I sat on the last seat in the corner and Aiden sat beside me. I looked at him curiously. He must have noticed cause he asked, "liking the view?" And smirked.
I scoffed, "nah...absolutely not. By the way why are you sitting here? I asked. "I like sitting with my friend" he said looking all cute with a slight pout. I suppressed my laugh but failed miserably and pinched his cheeks, "aww...you look so cute" he slapped my hand back and glared, "I'm not cute, Never say that."
I was gonna say but teacher came right in time and we all shut up. I had a hard time being serious, I was trying to control my laughter while he glared, but there was a slight smile. I knew he was trying not to laugh.
As the bell rang, we walked together laughing till my locker. We split into different direction for the next class.
I had a free period so I went to the library. I opened my Harry Potter series five and started reading it.
Now, don't misunderstand me but I have an addiction with Harry Potter series. I have read the series multiple times but still like to read it again and again. Hehe!!
I was so engrossed in reading that I didn't hear the bell ring. So I was a little late for cafetaria. I sat down with my friends and started munching on my fries. Oh...I realized I am soo hungry. I was eating my food without any care when my friends started laughing, making me stop to look at them.
To my surprise they were looking at me and laughing. "Why are you laughing at me?" I asked confused. Aiden replied from beside me, "you were soo busy eating that you didn't hear us calling you and you have ketchup all over your face." Everyone laughed while I blushed embarrassed and tried to wipe my mouth. "Is it gone?" I asked Aiden after wiping.
He brought his hand to the corner of my lip freezing me in the process. "There, now it's gone." He said while making eye contact with me. "Huh? Thanks" I said and started eating to get out of the awkward moment.

I looked up to see if anyone noticed, to find everyone looking at me and Aiden with their eyes wide as if they can't believe what they saw. I looked at each and every face and when I reached Carrie's she was wiggling her eyebrows at me. I quickly looked away and stole a glance at Aiden to see his ears are a little red and he was scratching his head.
Thankfully the bell rang signaling the end of recess. Me, Carrie and Julie had the same class but before that I had to submit my form so, I split my way to Mr. Scott.
On my way, I met Brittney and some boy sucking each others faces, disgusted I was about to turn when she called me. I looked at her and the boy. They stopped sucking each other but his hands were going inside her skirt.
"What is it?" I asked her. She whispered something in the boy's ear making him chuckle and glance my way, I felt uncomfortable so, I asked her to be quick. "Patience Kiara" she told me, "see...I don't have time for your stupid games. If you have something to say then say or else let me go my way" I replied her.
"Feisty, I like her" the boy beside her said. "Oh...you can have her, just wait for a little bit" Brittney smirked. I felt something wrong and started turning away when she grabbed me by my arm and threw me to him.
"Lucas, take your time, I'll check the corridors. Finish your business before someone arrives." She told the boy I assume is Lucas. I got terrified and asked, "what are you both up to?" Brittney snickered and said, "you'll see" and went towards the end of the corridor.
Lucas grabbed my arm and pushed me to the lockers. My back slammed the locker causing me to whimper in pain. He leaned into me, his face inches away from me. I tried to push him but failed miserably, he was too strong. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes thinking of all scenarios when I felt his breath on my lips, he was too close for my liking. As he was inches away from kissing me, I kicked him in the shin. He groaned, losing his grip on my hand. I took the opportunity to push him and run but he quickly grabbed my hair and pulled me to him. I screamed in pain as it was too much to absorb. He harshly tried to kiss my neck when we heard a voice. I looked towards the voice to see Aiden, Blake and Jake coming our way. Lucas grunted and threw me to the floor before sprinting off.
I laid there crying from pain. The scene that took place left me shivering in fear. Blake and Jake ran off to catch Lucas while Aiden came to me. "Hey! Kia, you okay?" Aiden asked to which I shook my head.
"What did he do?" Aiden asked me trying to control his rage. "H-he t-tried t-to t-to" I tried to tell him but my sob didn't allow me to finish what I had to say. Aiden hugged me rubbing my back soothingly.

Finally the recess was over. The girls, Daniel and Jeremy went their way while me, Blake and Jake went ours.
We reached our class but there was no teacher, still we sat down on the last seat. Blake was telling me and Jake about how his uncle is planning to buy a villa for him.
"Isn't it great then, we'll not have to rent a place to stay on vacations." I said and they nodded.
"Hey! Broo let's bunk, there's nothing to do here" jake suggested. "Good idea. Let's go" Blake shouted and stood up followed by me.
"Are you going somewhere?" A girl asked, whose name I don't even know. I ignored her and made my way out.
God knows what's with all the girls. They think I'll want them if they behave all fake and show their cleavages.
We were turning a corridor when we heard screaming. I glance at Blake and Jake when we hear the screaming again. "Broo it's coming from this side" Jake pointed and we made our way there.
Lucas was grabbing a girl and trying his way with her. The girl's face was not visible but she felt familiar from her clothes to her hair. We ran towards them, this must gave got their attention as Lucas and the girl looked our way.
"Bro its Kia" Blake muttered while I looked at her in pain.
Lucas threw her on the floor and ran away leaving her in the floor, whimpering in pain. Blake and Jake ran after Lucas while I stopped by her side and crouched down. Her face was filled with tears. I asked her if she was okay and she shook her head. Seeing her like this, I don't know but I felt the need to protect her and I was getting angry at Lucas as the moment passed by. I asked her, "what did he do?" I asked trying hard to mask my anger. She stuttered, "H-he t-tried t-to t-to" and broke into tears, I held her in my arms rubbing her back. It was new and awkward for me as I have never comforted someone. She cried in my arms for a few more minutes when the bell rang.
"What happened?" Someone asked as he neared us. I looked up to see it was Daniel. Kia's head was still on my shoulders. "I'll tell you later. What are you doing here?" I asked to which he responded, "Carrie was worried that Kia didn't come back from submitting her form. I was going to Mr. Scott to find her. "Hey, have you given your form?" I asked kia to which she again shook her head.
"Is it with you now?" Daniel asked and she nodded and fished it out from her jean pocket. "I'll give it to Mr. Scott" Daniel told. "Thanks Daniel" Kia said softly while sniffling and then again rested her head on my shoulder. Daniel nodded before going.
Few minutes later, she moves her head and wipes her tears. She tries getting up but falls so I help her out.

The bell rang indicating that the school is over. Daniel went to submit my consent form while Aiden helped me walk to my locker where I met Carrie and Julie waiting. As soon as I reached my locker, they bombarded me with questions. But stopped when they saw my state.
"Kia...what happened?" Carrie asked worriedly. I was not in the state to speak so I stood quietly, looking down. When they got the sign that I won't say they looked towards Aiden. "Lucas tried to take advantage of her. Me and the others came at time to stop him from going forward." Hearing this made me tear up and they both gasped and hugged me, I hissed in pain making them step back.
Aiden looked at me then at the girls, "bring her belongings, I'll take her to my car" Aiden told them. I was so exhausted and my body was aching so hard that I was leaning on Aiden. While walking out the premises, I felt eyes on me causing me to hide behind Aiden. He sensed my discomfort and pulled me closer and made his way to his car.
I saw Brittney looking at me with a smug smile, I felt like crying all over again. I didn't think she would go this far but she proved me wrong. I felt disgusted towards her. Aiden set me in the passenger seat of the car and put seat belt over me. Soon enough Carrie, Julie and other boys joined us. Aiden asked Blake, Jake and Jeremy, "did you get a hold of him?" They nodded and Blake spoke, "yeah, we hit the shit out of him. He told us that Britt told him to do so."
Jeremy looked at me and asked, "how are you feeling?" I shook my head and looked away from their gaze and tried to hold my tears that were at the brim.
"Hey, its okay" he assured me. "I'll take her home, you can go" Aiden told them and sat in the driver's seat. Others went to their car and drove off.
"Do you want to go home?" He asked softly to which I shook my head again, "I c-can't" I choked out. He nodded his head and drove off. I thought of messaging my mom so that they won't worry.
Me:
Mommy, I'm going to hang out with friends so I'll reach home a little late.
Mommy:
Okay sweety, but don't be too late. Take care, love youð
Me:
Okay momma. Love you too
After informing my mom, I dozed off in the car so, when the car came to a halt my eyes fluttered open. I looked at my surroundings, "where are we?" I asked Aiden. He climbed off and walked to my side pulling the door open. "You'll see" he said and helped me get out of the car.
He supported me the whole walk to a cliff, not too high with a lake beneath it. The view was unexplainable, I was in awe. He sat me on the ground and then settled down beside me. My back and scalp was still paining, I had a minor headache starting.
"Why did you bring me here?" I asked him. I was really confused as to why he brought me here. "You didn't want to go home so I brought you here." That cleared my confusion, of course he won't take me to his home.
"This place is beautiful" I wondered aloud. "Yeah, it is" he mumbled. There was a long pause, no one spoke anything, we were enjoying the breeze.
Aiden broke the silence, "so...wanna tell me what happened in school today?" He asked carefully. I contemplated on telling him. We are not in very good terms so I was a little hesitant. But, I thought of telling him.
I took a deep breath and started "I was going to Mr. Scott's class to give him the consent form when I saw Brittney and Lucas making out in the corridor. I ignored them and tried to walk past them but Brittney noticed me and called out my name. I asked her what is it but she whispered something into Lucas ear causing him to chuckle and look at me inappropriately. I asked her to be quick but she ignored. I got angry and snapped at her when the boy commented that he liked me being feisty. It must have given her an idea as she told him to finish his business with me while she checks for any intruders. I tried running but he was too quick to grab me by my arm and throw me to the lockers. He t-tried to k-kiss me but I didn't allow, but he st-till kept leaning in to k-iss me. I kicked him which caused his grip on me to loosen. I tried running but he pulled me by my hair and tried to harshly kiss m-my neck when you and the boys came" I was full on sobbing by the end of it. He put his arms around me and rubbed my back, which caused me to whimper. He noticed it and asked me what happened. I told him the reason and he carefully rubbed my back.
Later, we went to his car and he helped me sit and went to sit on his seat. After sitting, he took out a first-aid kit from the dash board of the car. "Turn around" he told me. I shook my head, "no it's okay, I don-" he interrupted me, "I said turn around" I obliged and turned around. He lifted my top which made me a little uncomfortable but didn't say anything. He took out an antiseptic cream and started applying on my bruise. His cold fingers massaging my back caused tingles in my stomach. It was new to me, no one has ever touched me like that so I was a little embarrassed too.
He finished applying the cream and pulled my top down before putting the kit back to its place.
"Feeling better?" He asked to which I nod. He started the engine and drove off to my house while I was resting my head on the window as my thoughts invaded my mind.
He stopped the car at my place and I stepped out of his car. "Thank you for today" I told him and he nodded his head, "bye" he called out and I waved my hand mumbling a bye.

Later, that night I took a long shower to ease my mind and ate dinner.
I was exhausted so I directly went to sleep. Before I was asleep a message popped on my phone. I peaked at the screen to see it was Carrie.
Carrie:
Hey! How are you? Me and Julie are worried sick.
Me:
I'm ok, don't worry. I'll explain everything tomorrow. For now I am exhausted.
Carrie:
Kk, take care. Byee:)
Me:
Byee:)
After texting I switched my phone off and lied on my bed praying to avoid any nightmares.
Before drifting completely, my mind was focused on Aiden
