I was still asleep when I felt it, a hand on my face; caressing it. I slowly opened my eyes only to see chocolate brown orbs staring at me; I rubbed my eyes and blinked while he chuckled.
"Good morning" He greeted me and I grinned replying a very good morning.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked, and I nodded blushing as I remembered how we slept in each other's arm, and suddenly I remembered why he was here in the first place; my Dad.
"Aiden, did dad come home till now?" I asked getting worried.
"No! Not yet, but he is safe. I got a call from your mom yesterday when you were asleep, to inform you that your dad's with your mom in the hospital." He told me and I released a sigh as I sat up and checked the time, my eyes grew wide when I saw the time.
"Oh My God! It's 8:30 already, we are late for school" I panicked and started running towards the bathroom when he grabbed my arm and spun me around.
"What?" I asked him as I tried to release his grip from my arm.
"Will you stop pulling your arm? Don't worry, your mum told me to let you have the day off when I told her how late you slept since you were worried about them the whole day." He informed as he let go of my arm. I walked back to my bed and flopped on it and Aiden did the same beside me. I looked at him to see him already looking at me, I blushed.
"Did you know you look cute when you blush?" He asked me.
Why is he doing this? Making me blush continuously. My cheeks must be tomato red by now.
"Oh! I have to wash, so I'm heading to the bathroom" I avoid his question and dash into my bathroom. Ha! Relief
I knew I was right, my cheeks are deep red. Furthermore, I quickly washed my face and had a nice bath. After freshening up, I picked my phone and dialed my mom's number, my dad picked her call after the fourth ring.
"Hello dad, good morning" I greeted happily, and he did the same.
"Why didn't you inform me before going to the hospital? I was so worried." I said pouting even though dad can't see.
"Sorry dear, I was in a hurry to reach the hospital as soon as I heard the news and then after seeing your mom laying in the hospital bed with her leg fractured, I just forgot to call you. Sorry, sweetie for worrying you so much" dad apologised. I understood he was himself in stress from all the office work and now mom's injury.
"It's okay dad, I understand. How is mom now? Is mom discharged yet?"
"Mom's completely fine, don't worry, and no she is not discharged yet, a few more tests are left after that mom's free to come home" Dad explained, and I sighed in relief.
"Okay dad, take care of mom and yourself." I told him before hanging up.
After the call, I sauntered down into the kitchen to find the most fascinating scene; Aiden cooking with his naked back facing me. I stood there admiring the view until Aiden caught me, making me blush for the umpteenth time this morning.
"Um...so what are you making?" I asked after an awkward silence peeping over his shoulder.
"Chocolate syrup pancakes" he answered and my mouth watered.
"Oh...bring it fast then, I'm starving" I told him, and he chuckled, bringing a plate of pancakes with chocolate syrup spread on it. I quickly dug into it as soon as it was placed in front of me.
"Yum... It's tasty. Who taught you to make such delicious pancakes?" I asked after having a bite of the pancake.
"Well... Thank you, my grandma was a great chef. She taught me how to cook before dying."
"Sorry, I didn't know. But at least she gave you her talent." I told him and he nodded. The rest of the breakfast was spent with small talks and laughter.
I washed the dishes while Aiden relaxed on the couch. I again called my mom to know when they'll reach home. Dad picked my call and told me they will reach home by afternoon. I sat with Aiden after the call, and we watched a bunch of movies; from chick flicks to mystery. When the credits rolled for the last film, the doorbell rang, and I stood up and went to open the door.
"Mom, come in" I let them in and made mom sit on the couch as Aiden also stood up from the couch.
"How are you, Susan?" Aiden asked and mom smiled,
"I'm okay dear, thank you for taking care of my daughter. I'm glad she has such trustworthy friends around her."
"No problem Susan, what are friends for?" He said and my mom and dad chuckled.
"Okay, so I'll get going. See you later." Aiden bid adieu and I followed him to the door.
"Bye" He said kissing my cheek and I giggled doing the same only for him to freeze, I was a little confused at first, but I blushed as soon as I caught on. When did I become so confident?
"Aww...look at you, blushing" He teased as he pinched my cheeks softly, and I slapped his hand away before rubbing my cheeks.
What? It hurts!
He chuckles and waves at me for the last time before starting his motorcycle and riding off. I shut the door and made my way to the couch where mom and dad sat.
"He is such a nice boy. I've liked him since he came with Olivia to our dinner meet." Mom said smiling as I sat beside her while dad nods his head in acceptance.
"What did the doctor say?" I asked concerned
"Nothing serious sweetie, I'll be fine in no time." mom said, and I rolled my eyes.
"Dad, you tell me honestly," I told him, and he said that it will take at least three weeks for mom to walk as before, but the plaster will be removed after the first week, and she had to take complete rest. I nodded my head in understanding and then dad carried mom to their room for her to have a rest while I watched a few more channels before sprinting off to my room as the channels were filled with lifelong advertisement, and I've not got that much patience.

I was sprawled on the bed when my phone rang, she checked the caller ID to find Carrie's name on it, I answered the phone:
"Hey Carrie"
"Hey! Are you okay? You didn't come to school today." She asked with concern lacing her voice.
"I'm good, I had a lot to worry about yesterday so, I slept in late. My mom fell from the stairs so, she was in the hospital and on top of that dad didn't come home yesterday, he was staying with mom, but I didn't know. Overall, yesterday I spent half of my day worrying." I told her.
"Is she alright now?" Carrie asked.
"She is doing fine now but has to rest a lot. By the end of this week, her plaster will be removed and by the third week she'll be as good as before." IÂ informed her and she released a relieved sigh.
"Today I didn't find Aiden in school too-" Carrie drifted off, and I bit my lips knowing he was here with me the whole night and left for home only after mom returned home in the afternoon.
"Um...he may or may not have been with me the whole day" I told her being nervous all of a sudden, playing with my hair strands.
"WHAT?" She literally shrieked, hurting my eardrums.
"You heard it" I told her trying to play it cool.
"May I ask why he was there with you?"
I hesitated at first but then told her exactly what happened yesterday. She was all ears once she heard that he confessed to me that he liked me, making it easy for me to explain the whole scenario. She squealed like a madwoman, once cooled down she started,
"Woah girl so much happened in one day. Jules and I have wanted this to happen for a long time and finally, the most awaited happened. I'm so happy for you Kia." She said happily, and I smiled.
"Let me tell this great news to Jules. She'll be so happy to hear this." Carrie told me and hung up, too happy to tell spill the news that she didn't even bid me a farewell. Where as, I lied down on my bed and thought about Aiden with a giddy smile on my face.
I kissed him, even if it's on the cheek, the look on his face told it meant more than just a kiss on the cheek. I also appreciate how he didn't just kiss me on my lips. He considered my lack of experience and started with the cheek, who else would've thought of it. He must be known as a bad boy or a player in school but for me, he is the most understanding, caring, and loving guy. My mind can't process anything except him. It feels so surreal.
I can't wait to see him tomorrow in school. Aaaaaaah!
