I had to stop myself from laughing when I saw that the magazine was upside down.
The idiot.
Checking my watch, I noticed the time.
Only 15 minutes left.

Getting into the house wasn't a problem, it never was.
The problem arose when I realized that it wasn't empty, that we had been given false information.
Sprinting into a random room, I concealed my presence by throwing myself into a closet.
I lifted my hand to my earpiece and whispered into it as silently as I could to let Adelaide in on the situation.
"Do you want me to get you out?" She asked, voice professional and distant.
I mulled over her words for a few short moments before deciding I couldn't pass up this opportunity.
"I'll wait it out."
Thankfully, she didn't reply or ask any further questions, letting me take full control of the situation.
I had been on my own for years, I knew how to get out of a sticky situation.
Instead of focusing on a new plan, I focused on levelling my heart rate and my breathing.
There was no point in doing something if you weren't in the right headspace.
Just as my heart rate returned to normal, the door in the room slammed open, various shouts filling the room and causing it to spike again.
"ë ì´ê±° í기 ì«ì´!" A young voice shouted at an unknown person.
(Translation: I don't want to do this!)
My body stiffened as realization flooded through me.
I knew that voice al too well.
"ë¹ì ì ì íì ì¬ì§ê° ììµëë¤. ë¹ì ì ë´ê° ë§íëë¡ í ê²ì ëë¤," The second voice wasn't shouting, no, he was cold, calculating, almost venomous.
It was so much like mine.
(Translation: You don't have a choice, you will do what I say or I'll dump you on the streets.)
He was the person I had come here to kill.
"ë´ ëììê²íë ê²ì²ë¼?" My little brother asked, pain evident in his voice.
(Translation: "What, just like you did with my sister?")
Did he think I was dead? Did he not know that I was alive, breathing, and desperately holding onto the memory of him smiling, laughing and joking?
I had the urge to break out of my hiding spot and engulf him in a hug that he seemed like he desperately needed.
I fought the urge as a deadly silence settled over the room.
"ì´ ì§ìì ê·¸ ìê²¨ì´ ë±ì ì ë í¤ì°ì§ ìì ê²ì ëë¤!" My father seethed, his voice dropping low and somehow becoming even more dangerous.
(Translation: You will never bring up that disgusting snake in this household!)
The sound of a slap resonated through the air and my body stiffened.
Who hit who?
I didn't have to wait long for an answer.
"ë¹ì ì ë¹ì ì ì°ì¥ì를 ì¡´ì¤íë ë²ì ë°°ì°ê±°ë ë¹ì ì 길ì ë ë§ì ê²ì´ ì¬ ê²ì ëë¤." My father said before the door shut behind him.
(Translation: You will learn to respect your elders or there will be more of that coming your way.)
I waited for a few moments, trying to calm down my racing heart before peeking through the slats in the closet and saw my brother standing in the middle of the room, his hand to the side of his face.
I could almost hear my heart breaking at his lost expression.
I opened the closet door and ran over to him, engulfing him in a hug and scaring him in the process.
I quickly clasped my hand around his mouth to stop him from screaming.
When he wrapped his arms around me and buried his head into the crook of my shoulder, my body relaxed and I embraced him back.
We stayed in each other's arms for what seemed like hours, him soaking my shirt with his tears and me gently stroking the back of his head.
He was so tall, when had he grown into a man?
"ë¨ëì, ë 그를 죽ì´ë¬ ìì´"
(Translation: Little brother, I'm here to kill him)
His crying abruptly stopped and he stood to his full height, looking at me as if what I said was the most shocking thing on earth.
To be fair, to him it probably was.
"ë?" He asked, his eyes wide and unbelieving.
(Translation: What?)
"그를 죽ì¼ê±°ì¼."
(Translation: I'm going to kill him)
He slowly nodded, registering the need to kill him.
He was a terrible man.
"ìë§ë¥¼ ìí´?"
(Translation: For mum?)
I gave him a slow nod, resting my hand on his shoulder.
"ê·¸ë ì´ë ììê¹ì?" I asked, hoping that he actually knew where our father would be.
(Translation: Where will he be?)
He thought about it for a few moments before answering, "ê·¸ë ê·¸ì ìì¬ìì ì¤ë¥¸ìª½ ì¸ ë²ì§¸ 문 ë³µë ìëììì ê²ì ëë¤."
(Translation: He will be in his study, down the hallway the third door on the right.)
"ê°ë°©ì ì±ê¸°ì¸ì. ì´ì ì ê° ë ë³´ê² ìµëë¤." I said before turning away, my hand grasping for a knife I had strapped onto my leg, inspired by Adelaide, and turning the doorknob.
(Translation: Pack a bag, I will take care of you now.)
Before I left the room, I whispered into my earpiece, "Commencing kill."
I heard her voice crackle through my ear, "Roger, if you get stuck or held up don't be afraid to back out, we're out at the front."
I smiled as I heard her answer, she was too prepared for everything.
"Roger."
I turned the door and poked my head through the empty space, looking in both directions to make sure that nobody was there.
Both ways were empty.
I hastily made my way down the hallway, making sure that my footsteps were as quiet as they possibly could be and I counted the doors as they passed me.
One.
Two.
Three.
I stopped in front of the final door, my hand reaching out to the handle but pausing just before it reached it.
Could I do this?
Could I kill him?
I steadied my breathing before retracting my hand from the doorknob.
It didn't matter if I could do it or not, I had to do it.
If not for me, then for my brother, for my mother.
I raised my hand and knocked heavily on the door.
It didn't take long before the doorknob started to turn and the door opened, revealing the surprised face of my father.
I smiled at his shocked face as I pushed my way through the doorway and into his study.
I sat down on his chair and looked up at him.
"ìë íì¸ì ìë²ì§, ì 를 그리ì ëì?"
(Translation: Hello father, did you miss me?)
