"aye nigga where you keep your towels at?" i heard as i was asleep in the bed. i swear it was debo's voice.
i slowly opened my eyes and watched as he walked into my room with a toothbrush in his hand.
"what the fuck..." i said sitting up. "i'm dead or sum? who the fuck managed to kill me?"
"you not dead dumbass," he mugged me.
"so how the fuck am i seeing you? and talking to you? in my crib?"
"because it's a fucking dream.. this shit don't look dreamy to you?"
"bruh.. whatchu want old man why you disturbing my dreams?" i asked him.
"damn you ain miss me nigga?" he cocked his head back.
"hell yeah," i ran my hand through my hair, "youn know how much i need you out here dawg,"
"yeah i noticed that's why i'm here," he said walking into the room and sitting next to me. "what happened with your business?"
"it's going.. just not how i want it to go. i barely know shit about owning a dealership let alone a fuckin business. that's why i'm back doin street shit.. cos that's all i know,"
he sighed and shook his head, "that's my fault honestly. i brought you into this shit when i could've eventually put you on some other shit,"
i didn't say anything. i just nodded.
"and that's why egypt pregnant ass don't wanna fuck wit you right now huh?" he chuckled.
"man," i sucked my teeth, "ion know if it's the pregnancy that got her goin crazy or the shit that happened with tavares,"
"yeah she got every right to feel a way. that's why youn bring your girl into i thought i told you that?" he raised an eyebrow at me.
"ian bring her in nothing. tavares was my friend you must be forgetting that. and if anything, ian even introduce them to each other. he was dating egypt's friend and that's how me and egypt met," i explained.
"you already know if i had met egypt on my own she wouldn't have been introduced to anybody,"
he nodded, "i know street shit is all you know and you not gon leave it until you're completely ready. so try to explain that to her. don't lie or hide shit from her. tell how it is all the time. if you gotta show her how to use a gun to protect herself do det. egypt knew what she was gettin into sorry to say. but it's yo job to prepare her for that shit,"
"ima talk to her," i nodded.
"today please, get that shit done today," he sighed then looked away, "how isabel doin without me?"
"isabel married some colombian guy," i shrugged.
"WHATTT? how she gon do det to me?" he said holding his chest.
"i mean.. you dead," i stale faced him, "fuck you want her to do?"
"she should've jumped in the coffin right along with me tf," he scoffed, "i can't believe she'd do some shit like that. now i gotta go haunt her," he said getting up.
"get yo shit together boy cos right now it's all over the place and i know you're better than that,"
"i will," i nodded.
"aight na," he nodded then faded away.
my eyes shot open as i looked around the room and didn't see anyone there. i made sure i was awake before grabbing my phone off the night stand and dialling egypt's number.
"our child doesn't have any appointments today," she said answering the phone.
"ian call for det. where you at?" i asked her.
"somewhere you not," she responded. i sucked my teeth.
"bro where you at so i can come talk to you?"
"why you can't day what you gotta say on the phone?" she asked.
"you know ion like doin allat. tell me where you at i'm bout to come get you," i said getting out of bed.
"ow!" i heard her yell.
"you good?" i asked her.
"uhhh.. i don't know.." she said breathing heavy.
"egypt you straight? what's going on? who over there witchu?"
"luca i think my water just broke," she said, "ken!" she yelled.
"you peed on yoself again pissy pants?" i heard kendra say in the back.
"my water just fucking broke get me to the hospital!" she yelled at her.
"aye give ken the phone," i said to egypt slipping into my tracksuit quickly. "share the location on her phone i'm bout to be over there,"
"aight." she said hanging up.

"okay let me hold her now," egypt said reaching up for the baby. i mugged her then went back to attending to my child.
"this the least i deserve after you almost broke my hands," i said bouncing her in my arms. we still haven't decided on a name.
"but i had to squeeze it so i could push out your big headed child," she pouted. i sucked my teeth and slowly handed her the baby as she grinned.
"this bitch already got a head full of hair.." she said rubbing her head.
"you can feel it? like when you pushed her out?" i asked her.
"that was the most painful part," she shook her head, "but it was worth it.." she smiled making me smile
"we really got a kid dawg.." i said in awe. a beautiful one at that. i couldn't believe i helped make this child. egypt looked up at me and nodded with a smile.
"i want her to have my last name too.. is that okay?" she asked and i nodded.
"as long as cruz comin right after it," i said sitting in the bed with her. i looked at our daughter for a second until a name popped up in my head.
"kaaliya," i said.
"huh?"
"let's name her kaaliya," i said to egypt.
"that's a pretty ass name," she said looking down at her, "kaaliya ali cruz.." she nodded.
"i'm so mad everybody else can't be in here cos of this dumb covid rule," she continued.
"i actually like it like this," i shook my head, "dee gon walk in here talm bout 'damn they really let y'all have a baby' and kendra gon be doin the most and you already know what yo mom like plus my momma,"
"oh yeah never mind i take that back," she laughed, "my momma and yo momma be doin the most about this lil girl imagine both of them bein here at the same time. annoying as hell,"
"on God," i agreed.
"aye not too much on my momma," she said pointing at me.
"not too much on mine tf," i cocked my head back. we looked at each other for second then both laughed. there was a long pause before she spoke up again.
"i miss you.." she said looking up at me.
"we gon talk about allat once we get home and everything's settled mama," i said kissing her forehead, "don't worry,"
"okay." she nodded then cooed at kaaliya.
