PERSPECTIVE

"I guess this is our thing." Sahar chuckles.

"What do you mean?"

"Not wanting to believe the reasons for our actions." she whispers, so quietly that it's as if she didn't want Asher to hear her.

"And I like it like that." she finishes.

"I guess I like it too." Asher responds, his eyes melting into Sahar's. The both of them simply drink their beverages silently, enjoying each other's company. It's as if their minds were connected and souls were entertained like a beautiful tragedy. And in tragedies, souls are meant to be devoured and minds are meant to be consumed with nightmares.

ACT THREE SCENE THREE

FATAL FLAW

IN LIFE THERE ARE a lot of complications and these complications link to assumptions. As people tend to assume that others dislike them, people assume that others like them. Many people wish that they could just know what others think of them; many wish that they could do things without doubts.

Luca Valdez is one of those people. He's insecure of what others think of him, most of all, he wasn't sure how Sahar thought of him as. A sick, useless being as him was no match for someone as elegant and desirable as her. Having an illness that forces him to wear gloves, an illness that forced him to never touch human skin. It's dramatic irony, the only person he could ever touch is the girl his family owes the most to and he doesn't even know that himself.

"Sir, you're going to break the glass bottle." his personal chauffeur states, worried about Luca's well being. The chauffeur stares at the direction of Luca's attention, he notices a familiar platinum blonde but he was accompanied by a pretty brunette. The driver squints his eyes, he recognised the brunette, almost as if she was an older version of a girl he used to give sweets to as a young driver.

"Sahar." Luca murmurs, the driver widens his eyes instantly. He couldn't believe Luca's words, the girl sitting there was Sahar. It was normal for drivers to know the other workers at the large house Luca lived in, Sahar is the daughter of the late servant Layla who died tragically in a car accident.

"I remember her."

Luca diverts his attention from Sahar and Asher to the driver, his eyes blank and soulless. He felt interested, the driver must know so much about Sahar, Luca felt as if he was missing a lot of information about her. He could only remember happy memories with Sahar, the bad memories were nothing but dust compared to rain.

"What exactly do you remember about her?" Luca questions, resting the side of his face on to his palm. He needed something, something that could help him become closer to Sahar.

"I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell you this, it could cost me my job."

Luca rolls his eyes, he's practically richer than his parents yet his own driver is still under their command. "Even if you lose this job, I'll rehire you as my driver under my company." Luca reassures the driver.

"Your parents fired Sahar's mother because Sahar and you both shared a bond, they despised the idea of you, a rich heir, mingling with a poor servant's daughter like Sahar." the driver says, of course, Luca was already aware of that. He was very aware of that fact, he still has nightmares of all the pain and anguish from the punishment his mother gave him just for admiring Sahar.

"Is that all? This is all old news." Luca mutters bitterly, the flashes of purple and blue causes him to shiver tremendously: he loathed the power his parents had of him. They shaped him into this monster he is today, they manipulated him and slaughtered his childhood miserably.

The driver shakes his head to say no. "Sahar's mother had a terrible accident the night your parents fired her and that cost her mother her life." as soon as the words leave the drivers mouth, Luca's heart drops. He couldn't believe it, Sahar lost the one person she could ever possibly fall back on.

"And the worst part of it all, the girl watched her mother die, her own mother's blood tainted her white clothes; destroying every purity left in her life, from that day onwards she was left alone and that's when your mother decided to send her to—"

"My mother?" Luca whispers.

The driver nods his head. "Your mother decided to send her to a care home five thousand miles away from this area, a care home known for their terrible mistreatment and crazy ideologies." the driver says quietly, the sound of the raindrops outside overwhelming his nervous voice.

"But she's living with someone now, she calls that person her mother." Luca frowns, confused as to why Sahar is pretending as if her mother never died.

"It must be her aunt, she was also a servant in your house, and if they're living lavishly right now it's because Sahar's aunt has accepted money from your mother to keep silent about the whole situation."

"It all makes sense, that's why she always seemed bitter towards me: my family ruined everything for her, they made her life not worth living." Luca states, he turns to focus his gaze on Sahar's bright ethereal face, her glow seems so ephemeral and the fact Asher makes her shine brightly makes Luca feel empty.

The only reason why she doesn't glow often is because of his family, most importantly, she doesn't glow often because of himself. If only Luca didn't find himself interested with Sahar's life a couple of years back maybe her mother would've been alive. Maybe she would've been happier, the irresistible glow on her face would've never left; it would've been perfectly permanent.

"Take me home." Luca says, maybe it's better to drown in guilt rather than to force a bond that will never work. That's Luca's fatal flaw, his family and his uncontrollable feelings that only benefit him and nobody else.
