ACT FOUR SCENE THREE
FRIENDSHIP & WORTH

perspective
JUMIN MEETS UP WITH SILAS as planned. Silas looks at Jumin with a frown, he had just woken up from one of his daily naps. He runs a hand through his hair, it was already messy from his nap but Silas doesn't really care about his appearance at school. "So is there a reason why you called me?" he yawns, stretching his rather muscular arms.
"Our secrets are on the verge of coming out." the moment those words left Jumin's mouth, Silas widened his eyes, he suddenly felt wide awake. All the tiredness vanished in a flash, this matter is grave.
"How the hell did that happen?" the boy snaps, his fists clenched tightly. He couldn't let his secret be out in the open, not just yet, actually never. He couldn't let anyone know anything. This secret is precious to Silas, not even his family know, only the billionaire bad boys club were completely aware.
"That witch and her rat of a friend. That's who."
Silas looks at Jumin with confusion evident on his face. "Witch? Rat? Who are you talking about?"
"Normani and her dumb friend Solar." Jumin states their names bitterly, he felt like throwing up, the thought of them existing makes him feel sick.
Silas frowns. "Isn't that Sahar's friends?"
Jumin nods his head. "But she's not involved. Both of them planned for her to take the blame so she could leave this school with nothing to her name." he explains, as he does so Silas stands up from his seat, feeling a spark of excitement.
"And you want me to do something; am I right?" Silas says, a smirk forming on his pretty face.
"Yes, and you'll have to do it quickly because we only have a month until the next golden speech."
"Why until the next golden speech? Don't we have one today?" Silas asks.
"Helius cancelled the one today because Asher wanted Sahar to expose herself to the whole entire school." Jumin's words cause Silas to choke on air.
"Asher wanted Sahar to expose herself when she did nothing wrong?" Silas exclaims, his eyebrows furrowing. "I thought the boy called that girl his companion, what happened to their close friendship?"
"As I said, Normani and Solar set it up. They placed a document that was mine into Sahar's faulty bag and lead Asher into finding it and when he found out he felt so betrayed that he wanted her reputation to be damaged to the point she can't exist in this school anymore." Jumin says in a hushed tone, weary that someone may be here with them. "It's disgusting really, Sahar actually helped Asher through a lot of things and even Luca, she made him more open to speaking to the rest of us."
"Even Helius, she helped him smile more, he doesn't seem to hide anything anymore." Silas smiles, speaking about his brother. "Sahar seems to be a good influence, it would be terrible if she leaves this school."
"Right. That's why you'll be assisting me in obtaining the truth from Normani and Solar, tricking them will be easy and then at the speech we will play their confession on the big screen so Asher could realise how wrong he was and Sahar to realise that they're not good friends and that she should move on to find better friends."
"And we'll be the better friends." Silas concludes, a confident gaze on his face.
Jumin pauses. He didn't think he'd be friends with her. He just wanted to help her. But now thinking back to what he heard, he doesn't mind becoming Sahar's friend.
"We will." Jumin says optimistically, a ghost of a smile forming on his face.
Sahar was alone in the bathroom, her thoughts were running wild. She couldn't understand why her friends would betray her. Is there something wrong with her? Does she not fit the category of being their friend? She stares blankly at her reflection. It was her appearance, she clearly feels like the duff in the group. Everyone would always like Solar or Normani, no boy has ever asked Sahar out. It was always Solar and Normani, she could tell the boys she befriended always used her to talk to her friends. Perhaps she's not good enough, a girl like her is never good enough. Her aunt is right. She's fat, she's ugly, a boy could never like her because she doesn't fit into the section of an ideal girl.
She should've noticed. Whenever she was with them, she always felt left out. She's the friend that nobody could care about, the one that's just there. If she left, it probably wouldn't have made a difference. Talking to them would be like talking to a brick wall, nobody seems to understand her worth. She feels as though she's just lingering there, nobody seems to notice her, nobody ever does and that's why she doesn't mind disappearing forever. That's why Asher is right. He was allowing her to leave, and now she can't. She has a whole month until the next golden speech.
"Why are people like this? Don't they realise what they're doing wrong? Hurting others and not realising how bad it feels to be the victim." she tears up, her voice breaking. She hated crying over stupid issues, but she couldn't help it. It's as if crying is now a norm and she can't stop. Sahar wasn't sure if she wanted to attend this school anymore, she just wanted to leave and start over. She glances at her reflection once more, her eyes looked puffy and her bags were evident.
She pulls out her concealer, placing it on the area of her dark circles. She carefully blends the product in. Nobody should be able to tell now, she thought to herself as she places powder to set her concealer. She throws her reflection a smile, there's no point of looking so weak to people who want you to fall. She shouldn't let their actions get to her. She's a strong person, she can make it through this school and graduate.
And once she graduates, she'll move to a university so far away and start over. She's going to prove her innocence, she's not going to leave because of a simple lie. She'll become the confident woman she always wanted to be and nobody should stop her.
Sahar walks out of the bathroom with a smile on her face. But that smile drops as she notices Asher walking across the hallway, his earphones in. He looks at her for a moment, noticing the makeup on her face, pretty, he thought to himself. How can she still look so pretty when nothing is going right? He turns away, not keen on the idea of looking at her at all.
His actions cause Sahar to lose the smile on her face.
It's her mistake to think everything is going to be alright.
When nothing will ever remain the same between both of them.
