PERSPECTIVE
"I see you're friends." Luca murmurs, watching me with a distant gaze. For some reason, the more I looked at him, the more familiar he became. A fragment of my memory; could it be that I knew Luca Valdez? The reason he's looking at me with desire; could it be that the both of us know each other?
"I hope we could be friends too," I state, my intentions were pure. To bring Normani back I must conform to what Asher wants. But by doing that, am I just shortening the chances of getting Normani back to Devon Academy? This all seems suspicious with the way Asher Devon needs me to be his companion, someone he could have around him.
Am I being used? It seems like that is the most likely scenario. I clench my jaw, from the corner of my eyes I could see Asher smirking smugly at Luca's confusing state. It was weird the way Luca seemed to be acting, he seemed helpless and that wasn't the trait of a billionaire bad boys club member.
"Listen, just because I'm speaking to you doesn't mean I want to be friends," Luca states bitterly, his words just as bitter as the most exquisite coffee in the world. "I just wanted to know if Asher was breaking a rule, since things seem okay here, I'll be off." his words were rapid and straight to the point.
Just how a billionaire bad boys club member is supposed to be, shamelessly rude. Although his response right now seemed a little forced and abrupt, there seemed to be another emotion other than confusion involved. And that was jealousy.
I could tell from the harsh glare he was giving both Asher and I. The Luca Valdez felt enraged with jealousy: but out of all the feelings in the world; Why jealousy?
"He doesn't like us with others." Asher states captivating me by his enthral voice, he runs a hand through his silky platinum hair. A smile forms on his alluring face, his winsome dimples reveal causing me to feel jittery.
A frown appears on my face. "But, why?"
Asher chuckles, looking down at the exquisite marble floor with an expression that revealed slight annoyance. "It's the way he is, Luca is just the type of person who doesn't trust easily: I mean I can't blame him, the people in this world are filled with lies."
The people in this world are filled with lies. That's a statement I'd least expect to come out of Asher's mouth. He is a liar too, a manipulative one. I could tell from his expression and body gestures, he was fooling Luca with his lies. But I don't know what lie he's feeding Luca.
I'm not sure what Asher knows that Luca doesn't. From the expression of Silas I could tell that he knew something too. But for me to know what this secret is, I would have to dig deeper in the hole I created. Approaching one of the billionaire bad boys to find this secret that Asher is hiding won't happen until I'm closer with this revolting cult like inner circle.
"You lie too, right?" my words cause Asher to nod his head eloquently.
"Lies make the world interesting, lying for a good purpose is right but lying wrongly is never right," he murmurs, his engaging eyes enchanting me. "You won't lie to me Sahar, right?"
You won't lie to me. But I've been lying to him the moment we met each other, this friendship isn't based on trust but it's based on lies. I'm here to bring Normani back and in the process complete the job Normani failed to complete.
Solar and I will both expose the billionaire bad boys club for everything they've been hiding from society. But right now, we know so little. With Normani's journals on them and her other tape recordings: Solar and I can find out more on these boys.
Their deepest and darkest desires will be in our hands.
"I won't lie to you Asher, I mean what are friends for? We wouldn't be friends now if it wasn't for trust." I fake a smile, placing my hand on his shoulder: from this little action of mine I could practically feel Asher tensing at my touch.
Asher removes my hand off his shoulder. "Relax Sahar, we haven't been friends for more than twenty four hours, I wouldn't bring the word trust yet."
I purse my lips, so Asher wasn't as stupid as I thought. Props to him, at least he knows that friendships just don't form over night, they require a lot of time and effort. I'll give him the time but never the effort.
A monster like Asher Devon doesn't require effort from someone like me. His friends and him have done enough to the people in this school, they're all merciless billionaires who lack humanity. If you asked them what humanity was, they'd respond with a blank stare and look at their reflection.
Humanity is them. Power hungry fools who only care about themselves and themselves only. And that's why I despised this club, it was a club filled with upper class males who believed the only way to survive is for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer.
"Right, we are just starting this friendship." I mumble bitterly, a forced smile on my face. Asher simply scans my face, his angelic smile covered the devil within him. He's an imposter, a fake who utilised others for his own benefit.
"Just." Asher murmurs.
"Just?"
"Just, Sahar." Asher states, a complacent gaze appearing on his stupidly prepossessing face.
SOLAR AND I BOTH MEET UP in front of Normani's locker. This locker contained everything but in order to obtain the information on the billionaire bad boys club there's a specific way to look for the documents and tape recorders in this locker.
"She just texted me the pin, it's one, three, seven, and nine." Solar pronounces the numbers slowly, giving me time to unlock Normani's locker with ease. After applying the pin, the clicking sound alerts both Solar and I that it worked.
"She says it's difficult to find the documents, there's traps in her locker." Solar whispers, keeping watch. No student should be allowed to witness us looking through Normani's locker, the moment the word goes out: it will be a matter of moments that the billionaire bad boys club will scan the contents of the locker theirselves.
"Right, no joke." I murmur. The locker looked normal, it just had her class books and a small mirror. It was an average locker with nothing but basic necessities. There was no sign of the information on the billionaire bad boys club, so Normani was right. It's difficult to find the documents and tape records in here.
I look at Solar. "Did she tell you how to open it?"
Solar shakes her head. "It would be too suspicious, anyone could access our messages and find out the exact location of the documents and tape records: we can't let her work get taken away." Solar was right, we can't just let someone take her years worth of work and hand it over to the billionaire bad boys club.
I let out a deep sigh. "We'll have to figure this out ourselves."
Solar nods her head. "Try checking behind the books, there might be a hidden area where she placed all the documents and tape records."
I check behind the books but I find nothing. It can't be that someone else beat us to it? That would be impossible, nobody knows that Normani has dirt on the billionaire bad boys club members. Unless, it was that Jumin boy. He found Normani with the tape recorder; what if he looked through her locker to find more evidence against the billionaire bad boys club?
I slam the locker shut with annoyance, my action makes a loud sound, causing something to fall down inside Normani's locker and shatter. Her mirror, it must've broken due to the impact.
"We should clean that up." Solar mutters, reopening the locker. "Someone might get hurt, like a janitor: after all, Normani is no longer a student and this locker is bound to get cleaned out and used by someone else."
When Solar opens the locker I notice that there's a button behind where the mirror was. That was covered by the mirror, it must mean that button leads to the secret documents and tape recordings.
"You're a genius." Solar exclaims.
"Tell me about it." I chuckle, pressing the red button. Suddenly the locker begins to shift at the bottom, revealing a box. I look at Solar who watches with wide eyes, Normani is really smart for thinking of an idea like this.
"She has a 4.0 gpa for a reason." Solar states.
Indeed. Normani is very smart.
I open the box to find many tape recordings, they all had a label. Each tape had a billionaire bad boys club member name. It had every member except Jumin Xu and Luca Valdez. I frown, handing the box to Solar. Underneath the box was documents with every name but this time except Asher Devon and once again Luca Valdez. This time Jumin Xu had something on his name.
But Luca Valdez has nothing on his name.
"That's weird." I murmur, shoving the documents into my bag.
"She can't just forget to include a member for a tape recording and document, that's unlike her." Solar tells me, running a hand through her brown hair. I take the box of tape recordings and place it in my bag, making sure nobody else is watching us.
"We can ask her later, but for now we have to go to my place, we've got a whole weekend to listen to these tapes and read these documents." I tell Solar, shuttling Normani's locker.
A frown appears on Solar's beguiling face. "What will we do about Luca? There's nothing on his name; how will we take the billionaire bad boys club down when we have absolutely nothing on the leader!" Solar says, panic evident on her winsome face.
I place a hand on her shoulder, she visibly begins to relax. "Then we'll find dirt on him, these boys should be weary of us because we are smart, we focused in all our classes and achieved the highest grades possible; this is something we can easily do, it's a simple research task on a dumb rich boy."
"And we both know, dumb rich boys think with their dicks not their brains."
