ACT TWO SCENE ONE

TAPE ONE / HELIUS GRAY

third person

PERSPECTIVE

SAHAR AND SOLAR SAT besides each other on Sahar's queen sized bed. A box of tapes sit right in front of them and a pile of documents too, the both of them stare at each object wondering which would be the best to look into first.

"The tapes seem more interesting, they must have so much information on them." Solar states, reading through the titles of the tapes. Each had a different story, a story Normani Blaze perfectly crafted. She knows she's right, undoubtedly she is right because she has a lot of evidence compiled in each of these tapes.

Sahar nods her head. "You're right, who should we start off with?" she questions the brunette with prepossessing looks. Solar pauses on one name, a name that she has been intrigued with.

Helius Gray, brother of Silas Gray.

"Interesting choice, why him?"

Solar shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, I find him pretty interesting for some reason."

"Alright, for some reason I'm interested too: he's a confusing person and a fake." Sahar mumbles, placing the tape in the the portable Bush cassette player and connecting it to the USB port of her laptop.

A message appears on her laptop screen asking her if she trusts the device. Sahar clicks yes and begins to play the tape. Her skin is filled with goosebumps as Normani's delicate voice begins to play loudly. Solar grabs Sahar's hand, she too was scared. She didn't know what to expect of this tape.

"This tape is about Helius Gray and to expose him of how fake he is to everyone and his identity is nothing but a scam, he's not a golden boy and instead he is a silver boy who smiles with silver daggers." Normani's voice is echoed off the speakers of Sahar's laptop, both girls widen their eyes at Normani's brutal choice of words.

"Silver daggers, it's an amusing phrase, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, Helius smiling with silver daggers is a literally metaphor that reveals he is a murderer." her words were brutally honest, so honest that Sahar and Solar widen their eyes.

Solar pauses the tape. "He's a murderer?" she shrieks, gripping tightly on Sahar's hand. "We go to school with a murderer!" she panics, standing up abruptly.

"Perhaps you're over thinking this, actually wait, there's no overthinking this, Normani said he's a murderer and she won't lie about something as serious as that!" Sahar murmurs, pulling Solar back.

"Let's just listen to the rest of this, it's better to go through these as quickly as we can." Sahar states, calming Solar down. Solar sits back down next to Sahar, gingerly pressing play once more.

"I'm not going to sugar coat this at all, everything on this tape is the solid truth and nothing but the truth." Normani's words were rigid, straight to the point. "I have evidence of Helius saying it himself, it's rather amusing how he can't keep something as huge as murder to himself."

"It's all my fault," the sound of Helius sobbing causes both Sahar and Solar to furrow their eyes, the golden boy never cries. "I was drunk and stupid, getting inside of that car was a mistake knowing that I wasn't sober." he whispers, his words sounded genuinely apologetic but was he really?

HELIUS drinks, he drinks to fill his insatiable desire. It was a rough night at home, filled with screams and misery. His parents had done it again, favouring Silas over him. They always treated Silas better than Helius, they always expected less from Silas and that's what made him their favourite son.

"You need to maintain your behaviour, for us to remain in power you must be good in the public eye, you must pretend that everything in your life is perfect! You understand." Helius' mother yells. "Drinking like an idiot and going outside will ruin the Gray reputation, people will think we raised irresponsible children!"

Helius frowns. "Why is it that Silas can do whatever he wants? He can be reckless, he can be a bully and have childish traits but I can't be myself? I have to pretend that I'm happy all the time and pretend that everything in my life is perfect when it's not!" he slams his hand down on the table.

His actions cause his father to grab his collar. "Talk with respect, never disrespect your mother in front of me again, now clean up your mess and sober up and we will talk tomorrow morning." his father had rage all over his eyes, Helius could simply lower his gaze but he didn't.

"Guess I'll just talk with disrespect when you're not around then." Helius' words cause his father to slam the back of his palm on the side of his face. A tear slides down his ethereal face as he placed his hand on his cheek. His father slapped him, his father slapped him right across the face.

"Go to your room." his father says darkly, Helius watches him with aloof eyes. He was sick and tired of playing the good guy all the time, it hurt his soul to act like his life was all golden. His life wasn't golden at all, it was silver. Pure silver that could be removed easily.

"No, I'm not going to my room, I've had enough of being the child that has to be the role model and the child who always has to suffer from Silas' mistakes!" Helius grabs the bottle of alcohol and leaves his house despite his parents complaints.

He struggles to unlock the door of his car, finding the button was rather difficult when he's drunk. He hears the door of his house slam open, it was his father with fury evident in his expression.

Miraculously Helius unlocked his car, he quickly gets in before his treacherous father could stop him. After getting inside of his car, Helius locks the doors: preventing his father from getting in.

"Leave this car right now Helius! Drinking is against our religion and you still do it, is there something wrong with your brain!" his father exclaims, with their Persian heritage and strong links to religion: it was practically a disgrace for Helius to be found drinking by outsiders.

"No, you don't tell me what to do anymore, I'm turning eighteen and I no longer have to abide by your stupid rules and listen to your stupid talks about your stupid reputation so now leave me alone you stupid old man." Helius slurs, starting the engine of his car.

"Everything you do is bad, you're a bad child, you need help and there's no way I can give it to you if you act so recklessly." his father yells, Helius shakes his head. He's not a bad guy, he's a good guy. A guy everyone looks up to at school, a golden boy.

"If I was so bad then why didn't you help me, why did you force me to become this person? This golden boy everyone loves, if you didn't then I would've never behaved this way: leave me alone before I run you over old man." Helius snaps, threatening to pull the gear.

"Even if you tried Helius you could never, you're a good boy who could never hurt anyone, you'll never have the guts to do something bad in your life and that's the way you will always be because you're too considerate of others!" his father exclaims, a smug expression on his face.

Without second thoughts Helius pulls the gear. "You know me? I guess you thought wrong, I can hurt people, I'm not the good guy everyone thinks I am: this is all fake, the fake person you made me to be." Helius states darkly, his soul was being consumed by all this misery and pain his parents caused him to feel.

Not once did they ever ask if he was alright. They never questioned his mental health. They just want what's best for them and never for him. They don't care about Helius, they just care about his last name Gray. Without that title Helius would be nothing to them.

Helius could hear his father yell in pain as he hits his father with his expensive Range Rover. It was a big car, it was bound to hurt his father. Helius knew it was wrong but the idea of having such power made him feel avenged.

But something in his mind stops him from causing further damage. Helius quickly jumps out of his car and to the front of it where his father laid. A pool of blood surrounded his father, he was still breathing but losing blood very fast.

"F-Father." Helius stammers, he didn't mean this. He was too angry, he was tempted to destroy at that very moment. Helius sobs loudly as he dials 911 on his phone, he couldn't let his father die like this.

"How could you?" Helius' face pales as he watches his mother run towards the scene. "You hurt your own father, what type of child are you? You deserve the worst, I should've listened to your father when he told me to give you up for adoption and keep Silas only!" his mother's words cause his heart to rip to sheds.

It was then he realised that he could never love. The people who were supposed to love him the most gave up on him, he was in a void without love. Nobody loved the silver boy, everyone loved his alternative, his fake identity. Everyone loved the golden boy.

"I-I wasn't thinking straight, I'm sorry!" Helius begs for forgiveness but his mother looks him straight in the eye with no mercy. She could never forgive Helius, in her eyes he was a stupid excuse for a son. A being that deserved hell right here and right now.

She decided to make his life horrible by bringing hell home.

"If you want me to forgive you, you'll have to pretend to be a golden boy for the rest of your life, I will get rid of all the charges that will be placed against you: nobody will know of what you did to your father, you understand." her words were cold and rigid.

Helius looks at her wordlessly.

"I said, do you understand?" she snaps, causing Helius to flinch.

"I understand." he whispers, and that's how Helius Gray caused his father to fall into a coma and that's the day his mother disowned him completely. Only complimenting his brother Silas and ignoring Helius as if he was never born in the first place.

"I caused my father to fall into a coma." he whispers, the tape revealed he didn't murder his father but placed him in a state that is close to death.

"Helius Gray murdered his father, well being in a coma is very close to death and that's why he's a fake, he's a silver boy who doesn't want to be a golden boy, a boy who loves to rebel and hurt those close to him." Normani concludes.

"He's a murderer who deserves the worst." Normani states coldly. Sahar and Solar look at each other after the tape ended.

"Don't you think Normani went a little over board?" Sahar states, Helius didn't kill his father. He's simply in a coma, his father can return soon.

"He hurt his father on purpose, he's nothing but a cold hearted murderer." Solar responds, believing Normani's vicious judgement. Solar is known to be gullible and she tends to believe Normani very easily, that was one trait Sahar didn't like about Solar.

"He was drunk and he regretted it as soon as he did it, and stop using the word murderer, his father is still alive!" Sahar mutters, she couldn't believe what Solar was saying.

Solar folds her arms. "He literally disrespected his mother and said he'd do it again, clearly is a bad person." she says calmly, causing Sahar to roll her eyes.

"His mother is clearly rude, she practically deserved it, they're forcing him into being a person he doesn't want to be, I totally understand where he's coming from." Sahar defends Helius, her words cause Solar to frown.

"We're here to take down these billionaire rats, not defend them." Solar retorts.

"Why would I take down someone who is clearly being portrayed as a villain for no reason?" Sahar mutters, she didn't want to expose someone who clearly is being blackmailed into being someone he's not. She felt guilt for the guy. Maybe she was wrong for doing that, he is a part of a treacherous club that belittles people in Devon Academy.

But once again, she remembers what Asher said the other day. You mean Helius, he said that after Silas said they helped the freshman Silas hurt. Helius also helped with Normani's money issue and house issue because he felt guilt for them. Helius helped the freshman and is known for helping others at school, he's even in a feminist club to support women with their rights.

"Sahar we have no choice here, we have to take them down for Normani, we promised each other and friends don't break promises." Solars words cause Sahar to nod her head.

"You're right."
