ᵐᵃᵏᵃʸˡᵃ was in her bed listening to some partynextdoor as she sung along to the lyrics—but soon after the song ended makayla got a call from her bestfriend.

makayla quickly picked up the phone before answering with a smile on her face—"hey best!" makayla said as she heard notti laughing on the other end.

"hey kayla, i miss you." notti said as makayla said it back—"you can come over today?" notti asked the girl as he had stuff planned already—"you know i can" makayla said laughing.

"alright, ima see u ina minute." notti said as makayla said okay before she hung up—makayla was now getting out of her bed as she heard keys jangling before the front door opened and closed. makayla already knew it was dontae, he had left the house early this morning, a makayla just assumed he had gang duties to do, so she never questioned where he went.

"makayla!" dontae called out from the living room—"yes dontae." makayla said from her room as dontae walked towards her door before knocking—"i can come in?" dontae asked as makayla said yes.

dontae slowly opened the door as he saw makayla standing infront of her dresser—and she noticed dontae had a small silver bag in his hand with something sticking out of it—"can i talk to you real quick?" dontae asked his sister as makayla slowly nodded before turning her whole body to her brother.

"but first, where you headed?" dontae asked his sister even if they weren't on the best terms, dontae still needed to know where his sister was at all times. "i'm going over notti's house." makayla said as dontae then nodded.

"you need a ride?" dontae asked sitting down on makayla's bed as she nodded—"yes please." makayla said before putting her hair in a ponytail.

"alright well, i wanna just apologize for everything in general, i really do miss you as a bestfriend, as a baby sister, you're my world makayla." dontae said as makayla just looked at her brother.

makayla felt a sensation in her heart—she wanted to cry about everything. but she kept everything bottled inside her so nobody actually ever knew how she felt.

truth be told makayla was angry deep down. she felt like she had nobody she could talk to, so she kept everything inside her. there was only one person makayla would open up to. notti

and it wasn't like that at first, makayla had to warm up to notti. but their bond was stronger than ever now, so really notti was the only one who knew how she felt.

makayla felt failed by everybody before notti came into her life, she had nobody to rely on, no friends, no boyfriend, no brother. and that hurt her the most.

makayla just looked at her brother before dontae held the bag up for makayla—"i know this won't fix everting, but i made you this custom bear. i know you said you didn't feel safe at night, so i got you this bear to help you sleep..you know?" dontae said pulling the golden brown bear out. and it had a silver bow tie tied on its head.

makayla instantly fell in love with the bear, she loved stuff animals no matter how old she was—and dontae remembered.

makayla just walked up to dontae as he handed her the bear—makayla grabbed it from her brother she examined it—"thank you." makayla said faintly as she continued to look at the bear.

"of course, i just want you to know i really do wanna make it up to you. i failed as a brother, and i promise you ima do everting in my power to fix it makayla." dontae said as makayla nodded slowly.

"okay." makayla said as dontae then smiled before he stood up from the bed—"hug?" dontae asked as makayla stood there contemplating—but she slowly walked to dontae as he embraced her, and it was a long hug. dontae was on the verge of tears almost. makayla was his baby sister, he was supposed to be her role model.

"alright d, can you drop me off now?" makayla said as dontae let out a small laugh before nodding—"yea cmon." dontae said picking his keys back up as he walked towards the front door.

makayla sat the bear down onto her bed as she examined it one last time. even if it was just a bear makayla loved it. she thought it suited her very well, and it would make her feel better at night.

"you comin?" dontae asked makayla as she nodded before trialing behind him.

* KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

makayla knocked onto the reyes residence door as she waited for them to open it—dontae was still parked in the driveway to make sure makayla made it in safely.

the door opened quickly as makayla was met with the sight of notti—notti had a blanket wrapped around him before letting the girl in.

makayla then turned around giving dontae a thumbs up before he pulled off—she then walked into the room as notti hugged her.

"let's go upstairs." notti said as makayla nodded—the two then went upstairs as they walked into notti's room.

notti threw himself onto the bed as makayla laughed at her bestfriend—notti could always make makayla laugh, and she appreciated that more than anything. notti was makayla's bestfriend, and she wouldn't trade him for the world.

"let's make tiktok's!" Makayla said as notti nodded before getting up—makayla then pulled her phone out quickly going to tiktok.

"you know that one dance? where it go like 'i'm lying if i said i didn't want it' yeah that one." makayla said as notti tilted his head confused.

"nah what the fuck." notti said laughing as makayla pulled up the song quickly letting notti hear it—notti sat there listening to the song before he heard the pony line.

"ohh!" notti said as he recognized the song—"yeaa, you know the dance?" makayla asked turning her head to her bestfriend as notti nodded quickly.

"yea cmon." notti said as makayla then sat up the phone playing the song—the two started dancing quickly as notti ate makayla up, but we not gon talk about that.

makayla ended the tiktok sound laughing as she saved it to her drafts—they then sat on the bed before the door creaked open showing no other than dd.

"what's so funny?" dd said with a small glare on his face while looking at makayla—"boy bye" makayla said rolling her eyes before laughing as dd walked in.

"nigga get out." notti said laughing as dd mugged him—"nigga no my girlfriend in here." dd said as makayla looked around the room.

"you not my nigga." makayla said making a x with her hands as notti laughed—"yet" dd said pointing as makayla just rolled her eyes. she knew deep down dd was probably right.

"sure" makayla said nodding as dd then smirked before he left the room.
