THURSDAY 8:29AM

MAKAYLA was currently getting dressed for school while listening to the soft partynextdoor that was playing on her speaker—she was finally gonna be going to school today since 2 weeks.

she wasn't really looking forward to it—especially since dd went to the same school as her, but she had to go eventually. plus dontae was making her.

makayla walked over to her closet before she grabbed a pair of shoes—she then put her shoes on before putting on a jacket.

"yo makayla you ready?" dontae asked knocking on her door before she walked over to it and opening it—"yea cmon." makayla said as dontae nodded. the two then left the apartment and was currently on the way to school.

HARLEM HIGH

9:10AM

makayla walked into school as her and dontae were going separate ways—"ight kayla i'm see you later ight? be good." dontae said as makayla nodded before smiling at her brother.

"bye d." makayla said waving as dontae waved back—he then turned around disappearing as makayla walked to her locker. she didn't know if notti was at school or not yet.

makayla pulled out her phone as she finally stopped infront of her locker—she was about to go to notti's contact before he appeared right behind her.

"hey kayla." notti said hugging the girl as she turned around quickly before hugging back—"you scared me e." makayla said as they both laughed.

"my fault gang." notti said as he then stood besides her locker watching people walk by—"is he here..?" makayla asked in almost a whisper as notti shook his head slowly.

"he missed school a lot, he was bound to come eventually." notti said shrugging as makayla nodded—and speaking of him, dd came from around the corner spotting notti right next to makayla's

notti quickly waved dd off as he shook his head quickly—makayla saw notti in the corner of her eye as she looked up confused. notti just sat there with a big smile on his face.

"what are you.." makayla asked before she attempted to turn around herself—but notti quickly grabbed her shoulder making her turn back around.

"it was just some couple making out, you ain't wanna see i promise." notti said as makayla looked at him suspiciously, but she brushed it off nonetheless.

"alright i'm ready." makayla said grabbing her binder and computer before she turned to notti—notti just nodded as he looked around making sure dd wasn't there anymore. the two then walked away going right to class.

dd saw makayla standing next to notti as he sighed loudly—it was the first time dd had saw her since the day of the breakup. and she looked good.

makayla was the only one dd actually had to do a double take on—nobody could compare to the girl. she was just perfect in his eyes.

dd grabbed his vibrating phone from out of his pocket as he saw he was getting instagram dm's from no one other than alabama.

dd rolled his eyes before sighing—alabama wouldn't leave him alone ever since they linked in the studio. and he was regretting it badly.

the girl kept texting him nonstop, and she just wouldn't leave him alone. dd just shook his head before he quickly powered his phone off. he really couldn't be bothered with that

he was finally near makayla after weeks—he was more so focused on the girl. he just needed to make sure she was okay.

notti and makayla finally made it to the classroom as they walked into the classroom—and as soon as they did all eyes were on them. the students were practically only looking at makayla because they hadn't seen her in so long. she was basically their queen bee.

"makayla oh my gosh!"

"makayla where have you been girl?"

"we missed you makayla!"

"guys look makayla's here!"

the two heard from all across the room—makayla just rolled her eyes as notti laughed. the two just headed to their seats while everybody gossiped.

"they really have nothing better to do." makayla said smacking her lips as notti laughed at his bestfriend—she definitely wasn't wrong, but notti wasn't really worried about it.

"they talk regardless, it's cool." notti said shrugging while leaning back in his seat as makayla nodded agreeing.

"i guess." makayla said as she then stared off into space—she was wondering if dd was gonna sit at the usual lunch table, should she ask just incase?

"notti." makayla said as notti lifted his head up from his phone putting his full attention on his bestfriend.

"yea?" notti asked as makayla continued looking at the floor before she let out a small sigh—"is dd gonna sit at the same lunch table as us..?" makayla asked as notti thought for a moment before shrugging.

"i ain't think about that.." notti said softly as makayla lifted her head up looking at him—"if dd was to sit at the same table, she would just pretend he wasn't there.

"want me to text and ask?" notti asked as makayla shrugged—"you can if you want." makayla said, hoping that notti took the hint of that shrug being a yes.

notti let out a small laugh as he pulled out his phone, he quickly went to his brothers contact before texting him.

"ight i texted it, now we just wait and see" notti said as makayla nodded before pulling out her notebook. she was gonna try and do some work to get the boy off her mind.

LUNCHTIME

1:00PM

makayla and notti walked into the cafeteria as they grabbed their trays—the two then headed to the lunch table before sitting down.

"yooo" ddot said coming over to the table before he dabbed up notti. he then spotted makayla before going besides her and hugging her.

"where you been?" ddot asked the girl with his hands on his hips as makayla laughed loudly—"i know my bad." makayla said throwing her hands up as the group laughed.

they then heard a tray being sat down as they all turned their heads in unison—and it was no other than dd.

notti and ddot turned to makayla who was now looking at her phone trying to make it seem like she wasn't looking—but dd saw her glance at him.

"sup gang." ddot said dabbing up dd as he did the same—"hey twin." dd said as notti waved. dd then looked at makayla who was still not looking at him. she knew if she did she would probably suck up to the boy. she couldn't resist him.

"makayla." dd said as makayla paused—and ddot and notti just looked around awkwardly. "notti can you come to the vending machine with me gang?" ddot asked as notti nodded quickly. the two then left leaving dd and makayla sitting there.

makayla was gonna beat the breaks off the two soon as they got back—dd just moved over by makayla before sitting down next to her.

makayla watched dd's every move with her heart beating faster every second. "hi." dd said looking at makayla as he sat right besides her.

makayla just looked at dd awkwardly—why was the boy even talking to her right now? "hi.." makayla said quietly before she gently cleared her throat.

the two sat there in silence for a couple seconds before dd scratched behind his head—he cursed himself for being so awkward, he was just in a relationship with the girl two months ago. so why couldn't he make a conversation?

"you been good?" dd asked as makayla just looked at him—she then nodded her head slowly before looking at the floor. this all was just awkward and she really wanted to get up and leave. but oh did it feel good to be talking to him again.

"have you been good?" makayla asked quietly before she looked back at dd—and he looked good, almost too good.

"i guess." dd said as makayla nodded slightly—but thankfully the two boys came back to the table as soon as dd got done talking.

notti and ddot had been watching the whole interaction—and notti was too happy that the two were actually talking.

"yoo" notti said as him and ddot sat back down—makayla almost immediately glared at the two before she stood up.

"i gotta use the bathroom." makayla said standing up before she left the cafeteria. dd just watched her every move with the same neutral face he had ever since he came to the table.

but truth be told his heart was pounding—he was nervous and honestly confused on how he actually managed to talk to the girl. but he damn sure wasn't regretting it.

he hadn't touched, saw, smelt, or heard the girl in so long—and he loved that he was able to, even if it was a short amount of time.

from now on at this point dd knew he had to get the girl back.
