Chapter 24~ Coffee and Donuts
Me and my Brothers
I love donuts. Donuts and iced coffee are just a magical combination. Austin, the precious human, just brought me my favorites from Dunkin', and I think he's now my favorite. He had an early morning doctor's appointment, so he could stop and get us breakfast. I love that he always thinks of me when doing anything; it makes me feel special. Once he walks through the door, he goes to take his seat beside mine.
"Here, pretty boy. I hate that I'm feeding your unhealthy caffeine addiction, but I figured you needed something other than my presence to brighten your day," he says as he hands me my food and drink.
"It's not an addiction, but thank you," I say, already opening the bag.
"Well, at least you're actually eating something, even if it's just sugar," he says, shaking his head and smiling.
"Mr. Johnson did you just give my little brother sugar and caffeine," Andrew asks in a teasing tone making the class laugh.
"Yeah, and he has to go home with you," Austin teases back.
I glare at him with my mouth full of strawberry goodness. It just makes his smirk grow. Okay, maybe sugar and caffeine together make me a little jittery.
"Yeah, he does, but you have to spend the rest of the day with him," Andrew says, still teasing.
"Ahh, I see how my plan has backfired," Austin says and laughs.
A few minutes later, I get up to throw my bag and coffee cup. I smirk at both of the asshats on the way back.
"Denver, I swear I've not heard you talk this much all week," Austin says, laughing and eating his sandwich. We are sitting at our lunch table in the corner of the lunchroom.
"Hey, you're the one who always says I'm too quiet," I reply, getting a laugh out of him.
"It's Friday!" I say suddenly. I've been so busy with school work and trying to avoid Finn, mostly avoiding Finn, that I haven't even realized it's Friday.
"And they call you the smart one," he teases.
"Hey, I've been busy today," I tease back.
"Doing what avoiding Finn?" He says in a more severe tone
"What else can I do?" I ask hoping he has a magical answer
"Confront him, or let me." He answers
Well, he's all out of magic today. He used it all, getting me coffee and donuts.
"Hell no," I answer, dumbfounded that he even suggested that to me.'
"Denver, you have to say something at some point." He says, giving me a pointed look.
"No I don't," I say, crossing my arms to prove a point.
"Are you just going to run from this you entire life." He says, thinking that will knock some sense into me.
"Yes" I say, crossing my arms to add to the effect.
"You're impossible pretty boy," Austin says, shaking his head. "But seriously, if he even so much as looks at you the wrong way, tell me. I want an excuse to beat his ass." He continues, the humor in his tone and eyes gone.
"I will, I promise," I say, just agreeing with him because I know how much he worries.
"What are we doing this weekend?" Austin asks, changing the topic since he seems satisfied with my answer.
"Umm, I don't know what do you have in mind," I answer, well ask.
"We could just watch Netflix in your room, considering it's going to be raining all weekend," He says, shrugging his shoulders and grabbing both our trays to dump.
Sounds good movie and cuddles, two of my favorite things. Austin and I always cuddle during movies. We like to show affection by touch; we always have a body part touching. Whether it be our legs when we are sitting or our shoulders while walking.
"Sounds good to me, want just come home with me and spend the whole weekend with me?" I ask him once he sits back down.
"Yeah, sounds perfect," He says, flashing me one of his smiles.
The rest of the day goes pretty quickly, and I only had to hide behind Austin twice so Finn wouldn't see me. Austin and I are on our way to Andrew's room so we can go home and get our weekend started. When we get in there, Andrew is the only one in there.
"Where's Jack and Ryan?" I ask with a frown.
I'm used to having them all home on the weekend except sometimes Jack, who sometimes goes to parties.
"Down worry buddy, they're just running a bit late. Jack has detention till 4:00 because he's a smart ass, and Ryan is just slow," he says, smiling and ruffling my hair.
About that time, Ryan walks into the room.
"So we're all really to go. Oh, hey, Austin, I didn't see you there. Are you coming with us," Andrew asks once he notices Austin.
"Yeah, if that's okay with you," Austin answers politely.
"You're always welcome at our home, you know that," Andrew says sincerely, ruffling Austin's hair.
"Where's Jack?" Ryan asks, "Wait, let me guess, detention." Ryan answers his own question before anyone can say anything.
"Surprised?" Andrew asks.
"Not at all," Ryan says, laughing.
We all pile in Andrew's truck and start the ride home. Once we're home, Austin and I grab snacks and head up to my room to begin our binge-watching.
"What are you feeling?" Austin asks after we get our blankets and pillows situated.
"I don't care, it's up to you," I say, not being able to make a decision for the life of me.
"You are impossible," he says, shaking his head and laughing at me.
"So I've heard," I say and smirk at him.
He just rolls his eyes and lifts his arm, so I can get in our favorite cuddle position. I lay beside him with my head on his chest, and he puts his arm around me. With Austin's soothing feeling and my favorite movie's familiarity, I start to nod off to sleep. The last thought I have before I give into my exhaustion is that I don't want this weekend to ever end.
I hope you guys enjoyed that chapter! Until next timeð
