On the day of the Spring Flower Festival, the Horuns District Plaza, where the festival was held, was livelier and more vibrant than ever.
Every time the wind blew, the pink cherry blossoms came down like snowflakes on people's heads.
The boutiques in the center of the Horun District were crowded with young ladies who ordered dresses, and the flower shops and gift shops were crowded with the servants who came out on errands for their masters.
"Look over there!"
"Wow, amazing."
A large ebony carriage, with the emblem of the four Spirits, made its way through the crowded square and stopped in front of a famous boutique.
The four Spirits emblem, was the seal of the Montez family.
After the carriage stopped a handsome man with proeminent masculine features came out, it was Philap Montez.
After that, he reached out his hand and helped a beautiful young lady with pink hair to get down from the carriage.
"Who is the lucky girl that is being escorted by Sir. Philap?"
"She must be Mia Vinoche, the girl we only heard of. I can't believe that Sir. Philap himself is escorting her to the boutique."
Everyone looked at Mia Vinoche with envy, because she was no different from Cinderella.
"But from where is the Vinoche family? It's the first time I've heard of them."
"I heard that the her family is poor, but she has great divine powers, even the Priests praised her."
"The academy's Department of Theology called the High Priests to check the students divine affinity and her test results were unrivaled."
"The purity of her divine power is ranked among the top three in the Academy's history."
"It's not just that her high divine power is great, but because of her good deeds even Omicron recognized her and alowed her to join them, even though they value bloodline so much."
Mia's Vinoche unique power and impressive behavior has been one if the favorite topic among nobles, recently.
Philap Montez and Mia Vinoche entered the boutique.
"Welcome, Sir. Philap."
The owner of the boutique came out and guided them to the VIP room, while he rubbed his hands like a fly.
In the private room, was a pink dress specialy made for Mia.
The dress had a lovely design, with a white corsage and ribbon decorating it.
Mia went into the dressing room with a smile on her face, she was very happy that she could attend the upcoming ball.
After some time she came outside looking amazing.
"Thank you Sir. Philap, I am really grateful. It fits me perfectly."
Philap smiled softly as he looked at Mia, who was happy with her dress, as if it was the first time she saw such gorgeous dress.
"I knew that this dress would look perfect on you. You know, the stories say that Saint Nyla had pink hair just like you."
"I don't dare to compare myself with the Saint."
Mia quickly rejected Philap compliment.
"Mia, you do more good deeds than the priests usually do, yet you are so humble. You are to inocent and always play by the book."
"It's not like that Sir. Philap"
"Mia, I just remembered, that the Saint's birth flower is a cherry blossom, and the most popular corsage among the young ladies at the festival are also cherry flowers.
I don't think there is any lady more suitable to attend the Spring Flower Ball, where pink is the main theme, than you."
Philap crossed his long legs and leaned against the back of the chair, with a satisfied face.
'Clothes are wings, and her beautiful face is highlighted by that gorgeous dress.
Since the clothes she usually wears are modest, just a little dressing up and she gives of a fairy feeling.
After her hair and makeup are done, Mia will sure get a lot of attention when she appears at the ball with me.
And on the other hand, Deborah, who is always dressed luxuriously, will have less of an impact than Mia.'
Philap looked at Mia up and down, but was always conscious of Deborah.
'But it's rather strange. I would always receive a letter from Deborah asking me to escort her to the ball around this time, but she's been quiet as a mouse this year. I wonder why?'
Philap was so confused, that he asked the chamberlain if there was any letter that he had left out.
But the chamberlain, exclaimed that he wouldn't dare to do such a thing.
'Who cares anyway, I already have a partner, and Deborah should know that unless she's an idiot.
It's good that she saved me the trouble of throwing away the letter.'
He tried to justify himself that he wasn't affected by Deborah's lack of interest towards him, but his uneasy feeling didn't go away.
'I wonder if there is a gentleman who dared to be Deborah's partner?'
Not long ago, Philap heard that a guy from the countryside, who didn't know the reality of the world, had come to confess to Deborah with a bouquet of flowers, but he was quickly chased away.
'She always had a short fuse. She has a behavior that makes one frown automatically. But I still wonder how much she must like me, that she is so harsh towards the other young men?
Pfff...But why the hell am I worrying so much about this?
It's not like I've benn rejecting her for a day or two, it's been 6 tiresome years for me. She should get over me by now.
I'm sure she will find an easy guy to the ball just like before. I know that
recently, she is famous among those dorky mages, because of her formula or whatever, so someone might fall for her tricks.'
Philap snorted when he imagined Deborah dragging around a mage that was smaller and weaker than him.
"Mia, if your finished, let's go."
"Yes, Sir. Philap."
Mia, was carefully dressed up by the Montez's servants and was exceptionally beautiful today.
'Who knows, maybe Mia will be the Flower of the year this time.
She has enough potential. Even the high priests admire her divine power.'
Philap liked to see the envious looks in the eyes of the other young noblemen, when they would enter the ball.
And just like he expected, when they appeared in the Imperial ballroom, everyone paid attention to them staring in admiration.
Philap, emited a strong sense of masculinity and Mia, looked weak but had a pure charm to her they contrasted greatly with each other but at the same time looked perfect together. No matter how much one looked at them, they were a couple that suited each other.
But something unexpected happened,
not even five minutes later and the two of them were quickly forgotten.
In the distance, a man and woman with an overwhelming presence made the ballroom silent. Even the musicians stopped playing for a short while.
"Wh-what is going on? Those two together?!"
Philap was dumbstruck.
'Why are those two together?!'
An intense and inexplicable sensation suddenly tightened his chest, and made Philap bite the tender flesh inside of his mouth.
But Philap wasn't the only one who was bewildered. Everyone was panicking.
"Why is Sir. Isidor coming with Princess Deborah?"
"Please tell me that this is all a dream."
"I can't believe it even though I am seeing it with my own two eyes."
It was an unrealistic sight for everyone, a devil and an angel were standing side by side.
Of course, Deborah was the devil, with her ruddy eye makeup and bright red lips, she was giving of an even more dangerous atmosphere today.
"That necklace that Princess Deborah is wearing, isn't that the pink diamond?"
"She was hiding it all this time to show it of now."
"But look, she has no other accessory other than the necklace."
Deborah was dressed in a purple shiny satin dress without a corsage or frills whatsoever, and since she had no other ornaments, the pink diamond necklace she wore on her long neck stood out even more.
Even without many decorations, Deborah overpowered the crowd with just the pink diamond.
"She is very confident."
"Well, she has to."
The pink diamond necklace, was the symbol of Duke Seymour's affection for his daughter.
"That pink jewel is the only one in the Empire and is said to exceed the price of a single townhouse in the capital."
"Woa, even wearing a full set of earrings, necklace, and bracelets can't compare to the value of that one pink diamond necklace."
"It suits her very well."
Someone muttered with a stunned face.
"Indeed, Sir. Isidor suits her well..."
...
'As I expected. Pink is the best color for men!'
I glanced sideways at Isidor, overwhelmed with pride.
Isidor, was wearing a pink suit and was matching perfectly with the lovely heart shaped necklace that didn't suit me at all.
But that isn't all, we have a contrasting atmosphere, the pink diamond serves as a bridge between me and Isidor so that we can naturally compliment each other.
'And the jewel is getting a lot of attention. This means that his value is increasing and we can resell it at a higher price.
I am so happy right now, and what's even better is that I didn't know that Isidor could look soo good in pink.
There is nothing that doesn't suit his good looks.'
His blonde hair that was neatly pulled back and his clean, white skin seemed to accept any color.
'He has a beautiful face that easily defeats any personal color.
Today, I will give him a perfect score of 10 out of 10, because Isidor's appearance today is comparable to Cupid from the greek mythology.
He is beautiful and lovely like an angel, but with a mischievous charm to him.
It's not just me who is charmed by Isidor's appearance, everyone in the ballroom, men and women, look at him as if they were bewitched.'
The reason was because Isidor, shattered the stereotype about men's formal outfits, which always consisted of an white and black suit, at best a dull color with low brightness.
But Isidor's pink suit broke the standard it was a first time that a man matched his suit color to fit with his partner.
'He will be a fashion icon in this world.
I was surprised when Isidor accepted my request so easily."
I felt sorry for making such a request but grateful at the same time, so I tightened my hand on his arm a little.
A few days ago, I made an unreasonable requests to Isidor. I told him that I would give him the honor of escorting me to the ball if he matched the dress code I wanted.
'Only because I thought that his beautiful features would look good in pink, and that he could help me match the pink diamond. '
"Sir. Isidor I wish for the dress code for the ball to be pink, because I want to show of the Empire's one and only pink diamond that my Father gave me as a gift.
So, I wish that you could comply to my..."
'I made some unreasonable requests, but because he is the son of a family equivalent to Seymour, I sent him a polite letter, unlike my usual self.'
Isidor quickly sent me a reply to my letter which on the outside looked polite but in truth contained absurd and nonsensical requests.
"I'm looking forward to it. And I am deeply moved by the filial piety you have, Princess Deborah."
'Filial piety, it was nothing like that, just me trying to resell the pink diamond at a higher price...
Haaa, anyway, it was a good interpretation from his part, it better that he misunderstood.'
Isidor not only accepted my irrational requests, but also actively expressed his opinions in making the suit.
He was the one who arranged for Helen and Kallos, the menswear designer in charge of his clothes, to collaborate.
'And today's presentation is the result of the collaboration between the two talented designers, their hard work filled with blood and sweat.
Thanks to them, Isidor and I are the only ones here with clothing and accessories that complement each other perfectly.
Those with a good eyes for style must have noticed by now that we are wearing a matching warm red fabric, and that Isidor's handkerchief and the fan I am holding are of similar colors.
The terminology is called 'a similar look.'
Isidor's light pink suit was shocking and was gathering a lot of attention from all directions.
But the shock lasted briefly, because most people had friendly expressions as they looked at him.
'Isidor's face is everything.'
Isidor suddenly looked down at me with a kind expression.
'Even though I am wearing high heels, he is looking down at me.
Just how tall is he? He must be around 185-190cm.'
"Is my stride alright? Let me know if it's too fast."
"No, It is fine."
Since it was an official event, I was very polite to Isidor, and he was very attentive.
"His Highness the Crown Prince has arrived!"
