Morning came early the next day as I lifted my head off my pillow all I could think about was getting Mr. Filmore back. Making sure to dress extra sexy today knowing I needed to manipulate Calvin to step into our trap.
He needed to be distracted from his reasoning skills for this to work. What better way than to show some skin after all teenage guys have only one thing on their minds when females are around, right? Time to make it work to our advantage for once.
The walk to school was thrilling that morning. I could not wait to get to school, just to see how Calvin would react to the new seductive me Hahahahah!
This was to be the role of a lifetime; the plan Nina and I came up with was brilliant! Nina had found out through the grapevine that Calvin still wanted to go out with me and have a side chick to play with on the side. Since I refused to be playful with him.
I genuinely wanted to save myself for marriage after watching my mother suffer through so many disastrous relationships. And seeing my friends' make stupid mistakes as they continuously got their hearts broken over stupid boys. Knowing that none of these boys were going to be the one for me anyway. So why waste my time and dignity on them?
Nina was fuming when she found out that Calvin only scouted her out because he thought she was easy. That was the last straw for her.
Game on, I amped myself up as soon as I saw Nina pass by me. Before entering the school building Nina gave me a slight nod as if she read my mind and agreed.
There he was my sweet, considerate, loving boyfriend, SIKE! leaning up against his locker talking to his junior friends. Awe, I kind of felt bad for the poor boy, what I was about to do to him could be considered mean and cruel. Wait what am I saying, he tried to pull one over on me! Why should I feel bad for him?
With my target in sight, I walked down the hall in my cute high heeled MaryJane's. Wearing a red plaid short skirt, paired with my white belly shirt and black suspenders. I had worn this outfit before, but not like this. I'm beginning to understand why I received so much attention. No wonder the boys thought I was easy, until they got to know me. That's when they started to call me the ice queen, Hahahahah!
Calvin, Calvin, Calvin, I shouted at him as I was walking down the hall towards him. Sporting what I felt to be a big vindictive smile across my face. He was surrounded by his upper classmate friends; they were standing around him giggling uncontrollably. I approached them, and they ceased the giggles.
"What's so funny boys" I asked the group. Calvin shuts his locker then turns around to face me.
"Nothing much we were just messing around." Calvin stood up against his locker with that cocky smile, I wanted to slap off his face. I rolled my eyes knowing he was bold face lying to me.
The guys were now standing behind him, eyeing me up and down, as they kept jabbing each other. I knew by their reaction the giggling had been all about me.
Time to flip the switch on him!
"Calvin, sweetie I really want to hang out alone today after school. You know just the two of us." I gave him a flirtatious wink. Then quickly glared at the boys behind him, to make sure they knew they were not invited.
Gently putting my hand on his shoulder, I pulled him into my body and wrapped my right leg around his thigh. Then to kick it up a notch I bit on my bottom lip. While I gazed in his eyes with the sexiest look I could muster up, without breaking out in hysterics.
Releasing Calvin from my grip, I turned around and walked off down the hall. Halfway down I spun around to see his reaction and mouthed, See you later like a tease. For a finishing touch I flipped my hair as I turned back around and continued walking to my first class.
Nina just happened to be in the hall around the corner from me on her way to class. I quickly let her know phase one of our plan was complete.
"How did it go; did you get him going and mess with his head?" Nina asked me, arching one of her eyebrows inquisitively.
"Oh, yeah, I think he honestly believes that I want to be alone with him tonight. I'm almost positive he will not be able to concentrate on his schoolwork for the rest of the day. And I know his friends won't be able to stop talking about what happened earlier. I put on one hell of a show for them." I giggled now; just like the boys were doing earlier.
Now it was time for phase two of our plan. Nina needed to go and scout out Calvin and ask him to hang out with her after school today. What will Calvin do?
***The day progressed as usual, one class after another in an endless cycle that repeats itself. I have spent my day trying to track down Calvin. Honestly, I would have thought by now our paths would have crossed in the halls. After Hannah had her run in with him this morning, I was sure Calvin would have been looking for me to let me know he was busy tonight. Maybe that two timing slime ball just thought he could bail on me and call me later this evening. He will have foiled Hannah and my plans to get back at him. And it was such a good plan too.
One more loop around the, just as I was in mid thought but who should appear out of nowhere dadadadatada! I approached Calvin who at the time was chatting with his buddies outside of the boiler room, smoking. His reaction is priceless as I watch his eyes pop out of his sockets. It's as if he could not believe I had found him, like I should have been on another planet or something.
"Hey, where have you been?" Calvin asked like he was looking for me.
"Oh, I don't know, looking for your ass. Especially after you ditched me last night at you friend's house, where I knew no one." Being sassy, with one hand on my hip and a cigarette in the other hand. Waving it around Calvin dramatically for show.
"Yeah, I am sorry about that, my aunt called Tom's house, and I got in trouble for not being home after school to walk the dog. I had to book it straight home. Last night around five, I tried calling you. Your mom answered and told me you hadn't gotten back yet. Where were you, then?" His eyebrows arched, in disapproval, as if he were interrogating me!
Infuriated is the word I would use to describe how I feel at this point in the conversation! But I knew it was time to put my acting to the test. As I pushed my pride and my ego out of the way, causing my facial features to become soft and inviting again. Knowing I was about to take the knife that he had stuck in my back and use it against him this time. Thinking about our revenge made me feel better, at what I was about to say to Calvin next.
"Let's forget about last night Calvin, I have been looking all over the school for you hoping to make plans to get together tonight. What you think about that?" Taking my hand with the lit cigarette I traced the front of his chest, being careful not to burn Calvin. Although secretly I wished I could put the cigarette out on his face.
"Um, you know it depends, what time? I have an idea, my aunt wants me to babysit the kids tonight for a while, she has some shopping to do. So how about I catch up with you after?" Calvin as cocky as ever stared at me with his ocean blue eyes. Calvin pulls me towards him, and me being shorter than Calvin by a lot, I only came up to the pecks of his chest. He continues to wrap his arms around my shoulders, leaning his chin down to rest on top of my head.
"Oh, well you know what I'll come help you babysit. I'm dying to meet your aunt and your cousins. It will give us some time to be alone." Tilting my head back to look up at Calvin, I batted my eyelashes at him, giving him the best puppy dog eyes I could muster up. As I pulled away from Calvin, I took a giant puff from my cigarette. Then I turned around and blew the smoke directly in his face. Giggling at Calvin, and the boys that always surrounded him. Making sure to put my butt out, behind Calvins back, on the brick wall of the building. At this point I think I am intimidating him instead of coming across as sexy. This acting thing is a lot harder when you have a real dog in the fight.
Calvin's posse got all quiet, looked over at him amused, knowing that earlier Hannah had already made plans with him. They couldn't even hold in their laughter at this point, their faces started turning blushed pink for Calvin. No longer holding back the boys were cracking up, nudging each other and pointing at Calvin, with their mouths open. Like he was in trouble now, little did they know I already knew about Hannah. Calvin kicked his foot off the back of the brick wall, where he had been leaning up against. Walked over to me, grabbed both my hands in his, as he swayed them back and forth.
looking down at the ground in shame knowing he was about to lie to my face again. Calvin shuffled his feet around, taking one of his hands away from mine. Lifting his Seattle Sea Hawks cap off his head, using the bill of his hat to scratch the top of his head. Calvin was abiding his time, probably thinking of a new lie to tell me. Releasing my other hand, he grabbed the bill of the cap with both hands. Squeezing it while rolling it back and forth breaking it in. Trying to look cool in front of his friends he placed the cap back on his head backwards. I wish I had a camera on hand, because the way he put on his hat made his eyebrows lift higher than usual. I swear he could have played the joker from Batman.
"I have a lot to do, I need to study for a test, and I have more homework. Plus, my aunt and uncle don't allow me to have people over when they're not at home. How about I'll call you when someone comes home. Aiight?" Calvin using both hands to cradle the back of his head, with his elbows sticking out, he swayed his body side to side. You can tell he's having a hard time believing this bullshit story himself. It looks as if his eyeballs are scanning the courtyard looking for the right words to use.
"That's fine, I'll just call you when you get home, we can hang out on the phone while doing homework together!" Backing Calvin into the corner that he painted for himself, with his own words.
Giving him the smallest smirk, gazing deep into Calvin's eyes, to see if his soul was still there. Feeling pleased as I watch him try to squirm his way out of this one.
Calvin was losing his cool with me, his face got red and angry! He could feel his buddies' judging him from behind, for being soft and charming with me. Hot headed, Calvin pulled off his hat, holding it by the bill, he pointed it at me, shaking it in my face to get his point across. I can tell he's putting on a show for his friends.
"I told you; I need to study for a test, can't you just chill by yourself tonight? it's not like you need to be stuck up my ass!" Calvin acting all cocky in front of his boys, looked back at them and rolled his eyes, as if to express without words, can you believe this? As men do, when in a pack, to show dominance over woman.
Dead silence is all that was left after Calvin's outburst. Everyone looked at Calvin knowing what he said was not acceptable. They all were waiting for me to throw a few F bombs his way and make a huge scene. But I hesitated because I could hear a group of people walking around the corner of the building.
Holding my breath for a second to hear the voice coming around the corner. Shit, this was not supposed to happen, this is going to ruin the whole scheme. I knew who was about to walk around that corner, by that voice and that laugh. Not only did I recognize the voice, the look of terror on Calvin's face, let me know he also knew who was about to turn the corner.
What the F@ck, I can't believe this shit, how am I going to play this off! Damn, I can hear all of them what the f@ck can I do? This is going to suck, if the cat gets out of the bag, and I get caught with Nina in front of all of them. I should have known I was playing with fire when I brought Nina to Tom's house, to watch me skate. If Jay and Tom find out they will hand me my ass, they don't like anyone messing with Hannah! Especially Jay, he acts like he's her big bro, he's so protective of her.
Low and be hold who should turn around the corner of the building, nonetheless Jay, Hannah, Janet and Tom. They were all talking and busy passing a bowl back and forth between them. Fortunately for me they had yet to notice all of us standing 50 feet in front of them. This is my chance to just bail, like I was never here. Unfortunately, about 10 seconds later, Tom noticed me, hanging out with my friends.
