Chapter 37: 36

The Bad Boy Stole My DiaryWords: 6843

Dillon POV

I tapped my pencil on the desk as I read the test question over and over. This English test was bullshit. All this marking and reading these 20 page articles is so unnecessary.

The bell rung and I ran straight for the door. Fuck the test.

"Dillon! What's up man!" Garret came my way.

"Hey." I said.

"So what's up. Today's Friday. Got any crazy parties coming up?" He asked with a chuckle.

"Nah, I think I'll just stay in and read a book." I turned to see his reaction.

I burst out laughing when I saw his jaw almost hit the floor.

"Man I'm just playing!" I pushed him and he bumped into a locker.

"You had me there for a second." He said rubbing his shoulder.

Just then, I saw her.

Laughing and talking to her friends, her hair was tried up in a bun and she had her glasses laying lazily on her face. She was struggling to carry some of her books and I watched as her eyes drifted to mine and I smiled, and then she smiled.

Cait's POV

"Who are you smiling at..?"

"Dillon." Beth answered for me.

"She's finally getting in the hang of things." Devon laughed.

"What do you mean?" I said walking past Dillon, but keeping my eyes fixed on him.

"You're finally starting to have feelings for him." Beth said.

"Woah woah, feelings? I'm not trying to date the boy!" I said stopping in my tracks.

"By the looks of it, it seemed like it." Devon snickered.

Wow, I hate my friends sometimes.

"He's just changed a lot, but in a good way. He isn't like he was before. He's nice to me now and... I don't know It feels good to be around him." I smiled to myself.

"Those are called feelings honey." Beth told me.

"Whatever." I giggled.

My phone suddenly lit up with a text.

Dillon: meet me by window

Hm, I wonder what this boy wanted now.

I went up the stairs after telling my little brother I'd be back in a bit, and opened my door. I went to the window and lifted it up.

Dillon was sitting in front the window with a small smile.

"I... have to ask you something," He said. "But I wanted it to be in person,"

"Okay... ask me."

"Go on a date with me." He said.

"Well, well, well. A date? With the all mighty Dillon Taylor? And... that's not a question, that's a command." I said with a smirk.

"Well, we can just hang out... what'll you say?" He asked. And I noticed he looked a bit nervous.

What a cutie.

"Okay fine. This Friday?"

"Yeah. Just be ready at 8, it's a surprise." He told me.

"Okay." I smiled.

"Okay." He replied.

"You seem... nervous." I joked with him.

"Me? Nervous? Never. I'll catch you later." He said quickly. Then he closed the window.

"Where are you going?" My mom asked me as I grabbed my wristlet wallet and had my hand on the doorknob.

"Out." I replied.

"Okay... out to do what?" She pushed.

"I got asked out on a date and I'm going outside. He's waiting on me, I have to go." I said quickly.

"Oh really... can I guess who?" She smirked.

"No it's not Brad." I said, opening the door.

"I wasn't going to say that." Her hands were on her hip and her lips pursed.

"Well im leaving."

"Okay, have fun with Dillon." I heard her say in a sing-song voice.

I slammed the door shut, rolling my eyes.

Dillon was standing outside of what looked like a new car, and smiling wide at me.

"Hey." I said, returning the smile

"Hey." He repeated.

He opened the door and invited me into his car, which was a little black Mustang. When I sat, he closed the door and got into the drivers side.

"I like your car." I said.

"Thanks. It was my uncle's old car, always in his garage, catching dust and had a fucked up engine. He told me if I could repair it, I could have it. I fixed the engine, got a paint job and boom, it's mine." He smiled a toothy grin at me and I felt my heart start beating very fast.

"Those are called feelings honey."

Beth's words flooded into my head and I shook them out.

"I don't have feelings." I muttered under my breath.

"Talking to yourself I hear." Dillon chucked as he pulled out my drive way, almost hitting our trash can due to the dark night sky.

I instantly felt my face grow hot.

Ignoring his input, I decided to ask the question Ive been wondering all night;

"Where are we going?"

"Outdoors mini golfing. Theres great weather tonight and where I go, the area is lit up and gorgeous. You'll love it." He said.

"Is it okay that I can't golf?" I asked.

"Don't worry babe, I'll teach you."

I sat quiet the rest of the ride, I occasionally side glanced at Dillon while he kept his eyes focused on the road.

When he pulled up, I got out the car and followed Dillon to the table where we pay.

"I can p-"

"Don't even think about it Cait, tonight I'm treating you." He smiled.

Who is this guy and what did he do to Dillon Taylor?!

"Okay our first game is about to start. I'll demonstrate how you're suppose to do it. We're starting off easy okay?"

I nodded my head.

As we walked over to the grassy area we grabbed a club and Dillon walked up to the course.

"Since you're a beginner, you're going to start off with a chip shot. Its just a low shot that will get the ball into the hole."

I watched as Dillon got into his position with the club. He studied the ball and lifted the club as if he was about to hit it, but he didn't.

Out of the corner of my eye I felt eyes on me. I turned, but no one- or nothing- was there. Just bushes and some bright lights.

I ignored it and turned back to Dillon, hoping I didn't miss any tips.

He continued to do that until he tapped it lightly and watched as the ball rolled into the hole. When it landed, a little ding was heard.

"Good job." I said.

"Thank you, but can you do that also?" He winked at me.

"I don't know, let me see." I winked back.

I grabbed another ball and placed it down. My club was in my hand and I studied the ball- just as Dillon did. I lifted the club- just as he did. And acted like I was going to hit it, but didn't- exactly like he did.

"No, no, no. You're not even holding the club right." He walked over to me.

Suddenly he got behind me, and might I say, he was very close behind me. He put my left hand on one part of the club and then put my right hand above it.

He didn't move his hand from on top mine after he applied them.

"And now," he said softly into my ear. "You pull the club back, not too far, you don't want to hit it with too much force, and you tap the ball."

As he told me that, he moved my hands just that way and we watched as the ball went into the hole.

"Yay!" I cheered turning around and jumping into Dillon's arms.

"Good job!" He told me.

The rest of the night was just fun and laughs, we weren't thinking about anything except for right now.

It was the most fun I've had in a long time.
