The whole Ahmed family gathered in the living area and Sid was standing at the centre with his head bowed down. Since childhood he was the obedient child of this family. He always thought that his family would decide the best for him so he never questioned their decision. Even he didn't want to go to USA after school but still he went as it was his father's and Uncle's wish. He was brilliant in studies so they wanted him to handle their USA branch. When they called him back to India, he returned without any second thought. But it was the first time he was going against his family and choosing his own wish. And everything was just for that one girl who stole his heart at the first sight.
"Siddiqui! Ek baar phir se soch lo. Kya tum sach mein uss hi ladki se Nikah karna chahte ho?" Asked Arshad Ji.
Sid nodded in yes and said, "Ji Taya jaan."
Fatima Ji got angry hearing that and said, "Arrey mat maari gayi hai iski. Paata bhi hai kya bol raha hai? Kaha apni Nusrat aur kaha woh Shehnaaz. Upar se uski Ammi ek talaqshuda aurat hai. Suna hai college mein padhati hai. Akeli rehti hai Ammi Beti aur Abba ka kuch aata paata nahi. Aise khandan mein hum kaise tumhara Nikah karwa sakte hai?"
"Humein kuch nahi paata Ammi jaan. Lekin hum Nikah karenge toh sirf Shehnaaz se." Declared Sid and his brothers and sister widened their eyes seeing his courage.
"Siddiqui!" Yelled Zakir Ji. "Apni Ammi jaan se aise baat karte hai? Bhulo mat woh badhi hai tumse."
"Aur tum sab mat bhulo ki iss ghar mein sab se badhi hum hai." Said Dadi jaan finally.
She looked at Sid and asked, "Woh ladki Shehnaaz sach mein pasand hai tujhe?"
Sid nodded in yes.
"Nikah karna chahta hai uss se?"
Sid again nodded in yes.
"Toh phir sab kaan khol ke sun lo, Siddiqui ka Nikah Shehnaaz se hi hoga." Said Dadi jaan making Sid happy.
"Par Amma...."
Fatima Ji was going to say something but Dadi jaan glared her making her quiet.
"Tum sab rishta bhejo uske ghar. Aur haan, iss Nikah mein koi zaldbaazi karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Unn logo ko bhi waqt chahiye hoga taiyaari karne ke liye. Pehle Aftab ka Nikah acche se ho jaaye. Uske kuch din baad hum Siddiqui ka Nikah karwayenge. Samajh gaye sab?"
They all nodded in yes as they couldn't go against her.
Sid was on cloud nine as his family agreed for his marriage with Shehnaaz.
At Night...
Sid was standing in the balcony while thinking about Shehnaaz. He was imagining his married life and smiling and blushing continuously. Before this, no girl had driven his this much crazy. But Shehnaaz was not like other girls. She was something else. Sid realised that he had fallen in love with her.
Suddenly Rihana came there and cleared her throat breaking Sid's thoughts.
Sid looked at her when she said dramatically, "Ji aap ne humare Bhai jaan ko kahi dekha hai? Woh na kho gaye hai..... Na jaane kis ke khayalon mein."
Sid rolled his eyes and said, "Bakwas band kar. Koi kaam hai toh baata."
"Kaam toh hai. Woh hum kehna chahte the ki, aap na yeh Shehnaaz ke ghar rishta bhejwane wala plan cancel kar di jiye. Yeh toh ek tarike se arranged marriage hi hui. Aap ek kaam ki jiye, aap Shehnaaz ko bhaga ke le jaaiye aur kisi ko bina baataye Nikah kar li jiye. Gharwalon ko aaj nahi toh kaal accept karna hi nahi. Aur ek baar aap ne love marriage kar liyi toh hum Bhai Behno ka raasta bhi clear ho jayega."
Sid sighed and said, "Ho gaya? Ab jaa yaaha se. Semester aa raha hai, studies mein dhyan de. Jab dekho faltu ki baatein karti rehti hai."
"Haan ab humari baatein toh aap ko faltu lagengi hi. Kisi aur se baatein karne ka mann kar raha hoga. Waise jaane se pehle ek information dete hai aap ko. Aap ki Shehnaaz, humari hi college mein padhti hai. Aur humare paas uska number bhi hai."
Sid widened his eyes hearing that. But before he could react, Rihana left from there flipping her hair with attitude.
"Rihana kaha jaa rahi hai? Listen to me. Rihana!"
Sid started going after her.
Next Day...
Sid went to Rihana's college to drop her. But his real intention was to meet Shehnaaz.
"Bhai yeh aap ne bilkool accha nahi kiya. Hum roz apni saheliyon ke saath college aate hai. Aur aaj aap ne Ammi jaan ke aise kaan bhare, unhone humein zabardasti aap ke saath bhej diya." Said Rihana sadly.
"Zyada drama mat kar. Ek baar tere Bhai ki love story aage badh jaaye, hum wapas se Ammi jaan ko kuch samjha denge. Phir tu apni saheliyon ke saath hi college aana jaana. Koi nahi rokega." Said Sid.
Suddenly Rihana noticed something and said, "Bhai jaan! Woh rahi aap ki Shehnaaz."
Sid's eyes fell on Shehnaaz who was standing at a far distance. She
was wearing suit and she applied nude make-up on her face as always. Once again Sid forgot everything and kept staring at her.
"Aap badhao apni love story ko aage. Hum chalte hai." Said Rihana and left from there.
Here Sid was totally lost in Shehnaaz. He started walking towards her taking small steps. As much he was going near her, his heartbeat was increasing. He was trying to compose himself and thinking how he should introduce himself to her. But the next moment, everything was getting messed up.
"Hum aise nervous kyu ho rahe hai? No Sid, don't be nervous. You can do it." He said to himself giving courage.
But before he could make any move, a guy came to Shehnaaz making Sid frown.
Soon the guy went on his one knee and said holding a rose, "Shehnaaz main kaafi dino se tum se yeh kehna chahta tha. I love you! Tum meri girlfriend banogi?"
Sid's blood boiled hearing that. How could the guy propose to his Shehnaaz? Yes, she was his, since the day he saw her. No other guy could come close to her except him. And here he was proposing to her, asking her to be his girlfriend. Sid fisted his palm to control his anger.
On the other hand, Shehnaaz was making a confused face.
"Yeh kya keh rahe ho? Tum toh humare dost ho na?" She asked.
The guy stood up and said, "Haan lekin mere dil mein tumhare liye feelings hai. It's ok. Tumhe time chahiye toh tum le lo. College hours khatam hone tak jawab de dena."
Shehnaaz nodded in yes.
She was going to leave when the guy said, "At least yeh rose toh le lo."
Shehnaaz took the rose and left from there giving a slight smile. The guy was blushing as she took the rose but here someone was burning in anger.
Suddenly the guy felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw Sid.
"Haan ji boliye." Said the guy.
"Tum se kuch baat karni thi. Zara side mein aaoge?" Said Sid smiling in anger.
"Ok. Chaliye." Said the guy and Sid took him to a corner.
After college...
Shehnaaz was leaving when she met the guy in her way.
"Hi! Hum tumhe hi dhund rahe the." Said Shehnaaz seeing him. "Woh aaj subah....."
"Aaj subah bohut badi galti ho gayi Didi. Mujhe maaf kar di jiye. Main aage se aisa kabhi nahi karunga. Didi I promise." Said the guy being afraid.
Shehnaaz was totally puzzled.
"Kya ho gaya tumhe? Didi kyu bol rahe ho?" She asked.
"Kyu ki aaj se aap meri behen hai. Arrey aap toh kya iss college ki, nahi nahi, Lucknow ki saari ladkiya meri behen hai. Aap bas woh rose wapas kar do jo maine aap ko diya tha."
Shehnaaz couldn't understand anything. She just took out the rose from her bag and returned it to him.
"Thank you Didi." Said the guy folding his hands.
"Aur humara jawab....."
"Humein jawab mil gaya. Sorry to disturb you Didi. I'm very sorry."
Saying that, the guy ran away.
"Kitna ajeeb hai." Thought Shehnaaz.
Later, Shehnaaz came out of the college. She was going home when suddenly someone dragged her to an empty alley.
Before she could understand anything, Sid pinned her to the nearest wall and gave her a dangerous look. Shehnaaz recognised him but at the same time she got scared as he was very close to her.
"A..aap yaha...."
Sid cut in between and asked, "Kaun tha woh ladka?"
"K...k... kaun ladka?" Asked Shehnaaz being afraid.
"Jisne subah aap ko propose kiya tha."
"Woh....humara friend...."
"Toh aap ne uss hi waqt usse maana kyu nahi kiya?"
"Humein.... Waqt chahiye tha...."
"Kyu?" He asked more dangerously.
"Sochne ke liye ki hum.... Kya jawab de."
"I see. Toh kya jawab dene wali thi aap usse?"
Shehnaaz now got irritated. Who was he to ask her so many questions? And why was she getting scared of him so much?
Shehnaaz tried to act brave and said, "Yeh hum aap ko kyu baataye? Hum usse haan kahe yaa naa, iss se aap ko kya fark padhta hai?"
He leaned closer to her face to which she gulped her saliva.
"Fark padhta hai. Koi aur ladka aap ke aas paas bhi bhatke toh humein fark padhta hai. Kyu ki aap sirf humari hai." He said huskily.
Shehnaaz realised that their lips were only few inches apart.
"D...d...dekhiye.... Yeh aap.... B..b.. bilkool thik nahi... Kar rahe.... Aap Nusrat Di ke hone wale sohar hai.... Isliye....I..i..isliye.... Hum se.... dur ho ke.... Baat ki jiye." Said Shehnaaz stammering.
Sidharth chuckled and moved away from her.
"Kisne kaha hum Nusrat ke hone wale sohar hai? Nusrat sirf humari Khala ki Beti hai, humari cousin. Hum uss se Nikah nahi kar rahe." He said making Shehnaaz shocked.
"Kya? Lekin kyu?" She asked.
"Kyu ki humein aap se mohabbat hai." Confessed Sid looking deep into her eyes.
"Hum se?" Asked Shehnaaz with disbelief.
"Ji haan. Woh pehli nazar wala mohbbat hota hai na, woh ho gaya hai aap se. Isliye aap ke siwa kisi aur ke baare mein hum soch bhi nahi sakte. Aur naa hi aap ko humare siwa kisi aur ke baare mein sochne denge."
Shehnaaz was speechless. She couldn't understand what to say.
"Humne toh keh diya jo kehna tha. Ab aap bhi kuch kahiye." Said Sid noticing her silence.
"Humein samajh nahi aa raha hum kya kahe. Hum aap ko thik se jaante tak nahi hai aur naa hi aap humein jaante hai. Toh phir aap ko humse mohabbat kaise ho sakti hai?" She asked.
Sid smiled and said, "Bilkool sahi kaha aap ne. Hum aap ko thik se jaante nahi hai. Lekin phir bhi humein aap se mohabbat ho gayi hai. Kyu ki aap ko pehli baar dekhte hi humare dil ne hum se woh keh diya tha."
"Kya keh diya tha?" Asked Shehnaaz curiously.
Sid brought his face near her ears and whispered, "Qubool hai."
Hearing his words, Shehnaaz's cheeks turned red like tomato. She herself didn't know what was happening to her. He was the first man to make her blush like this. Meanwhile Sid noticed her red cheeks and chuckled seeing his affects on her.
"Ab agar aap ko bhi qubool hai toh hum se.... Nahi. Aap apni Ammi se keh di jiyega. Humari family aap ke ghar mein rishta bhejti hi hogi. Hum aap ke jawab ke intezaar mein rahenge. Okay, humari Naaz?" He said further.
Shehnaaz somehow controlled her blush and said, "Humara naam Shehnaaz hai waise."
"So what? Hum toh aap ko Naaz hi bulayenge. Sid ki Naaz." He said in a romantic way.
Shehnaaz couldn't stay anymore and left from there blushing heavily while Sid watched her retreating figure with a smile on his face.
While returning home, Shehnaaz was remembering Sid's words and blushing continuously.
"Kya hogaya hai humein? Unki kahi hui baatein soch kar hum itna kyu sharma rahe hai? Kyu baar baar unka chehra humare saamne aa raha hai? Toh kya yeh woh hi hai jiska hum intezaar kar rahe the? Humare khwabon ka Shehzada." Thinking that Shehnaaz closed her eyes.
She again saw someone coming towards her riding on horse but his face was not clear because of fog. But then suddenly something happened. All the fogs disappeared and Shehnaaz saw his face clearly. It was the same handsome face she saw few moments ago. He was the man of her dreams, her Sid.
Shehnaaz opened her eyes being surprised. Then she blushed harder thinking about him.
At Night...
Sid returned home when his mother came to him.
"Aa gaye tum? Tumhara hi intezaar tha." Said Fatima Ji.
"Kya baat hai Ammi jaan?" Asked Sid.
"Subah Nagma se baat hui thi humari. Tumhare kehne pe rishta bheja uss Shehnaaz ke ghar. Lekin aaj shaam ko Nagma ka call aaya. Jaan na nahi chahoge unn logo ne kya kaha?"
"Kya kaha?" Asked Sid excitedly.
"Shehnaaz ne khud iss rishte se inkar kar diya. Woh tumse Nikah nahi karna chahti." Said Fatima Ji making Sid shocked.
