Lottie's POV (Pack Doctor)
I couldn't believe it. I have been searching for the answer and I finally got it. I finally figured out who the father of the baby was. After doing hours of testing, I finally have it down to only one man being the father. It took me a day to figure out, but now I can go to Alpha Allen and Brentin to let them know who the father is. This should take some of the stress off of everyone. Maybe it will help Aaryana in figuring out if she should give Brentin a second chance or not. But I wonder what will happen to the baby.
Once I had everything I needed to show to Alpha Allen and Brentin, I called them to come to my office. Alpha Allen answered after the first ring. "Doctor, I hope you have good news for me." He said.
"Alpha Allen, I need you and Brentin to come to my office. I found out who the father is." I told him.
"We will be there momentarily." He said then hung up. I put the folder on my desk and waited for them to come in. Five minutes later, there was a knock on my door.
"Come in." I said. The door opened and in walked not just Alpha Allen and Brentin, but also Aaryana and another guy. Judging by how much he looked like Alpha Allen, I would say he is Alpha Allen's son and Aaryana's brother.
"What are the results? Who is the father?" Alpha Allen asked.
"The father is..." I trailed off looking at Brentin and Aaryana. Brentin looked upset while Aaryana was holding her composure well. Aaryana's brother on the other hand was about ready to murder someone, judging by his looks. Finally, Alpha Allen just looked curious and upset.
"Who is the father?" Aaryana snapped. Well, so much for holding her composure.
"It's Kip. Kip is the father. What do you want me to do with the baby? I can put it up for adoption or just give it to someone in the pack or I could just sign him over to you, Brentin." I told them. I watched as Brentin's shoulders sagged with relief and as Aaryana's face went from shock and surprised to an expressionless mask. I watched as Alpha Brentin released a breath that I doubt even he knew he was holding. I watched as Aaryana's brother started smirking. To say the least, they were all happy that the baby didn't belong to Brentin. Maybe it will help Aaryana and Brentin have a relationship again. But, judging by how stubborn Aaryana is, it may take a while.
"Well, see if anyone in the pack wants it. If not, then put the baby up for adoption. He hasn't been named yet so the adoptive parents can name him. Not to be mean, but I don't want the child or anything to remind me of Julie." Brentin said.
"I think he should just be adopted out. If anyone from Brentin's pack gets him, they may not treat him right because he is a product of the alpha and his mistress's indiscretions. They would probably abuse him or neglect him because they lost their Luna because of his mother and no baby should have to go through that. He should be adopted by someone in Antoine's pack or mine. I mean Lydia has been taking care of him, it wouldn't be right to take him away from her when she is already attached." Aaryana said.
"If that happens then you have to see the baby every day. Will you be able to handle that?" Alpha Allen asked.
"Honestly, I don't know dad. But, if I can't, I can always let her join Antoine's pack again. I am not going to uproot the baby from the only person who has been taking care of him since he was born. I also will not take a child from someone who is already attached to him. That would be heartless. Besides, look at it this way; if someone was to separate me from my children, after I have gotten so attached to them, I would flip. So, I cannot and will not do that to Lydia." Aaryana said to her father.
"We will talk to Lydia about this when we leave here. But Lottie, if you could, draw up the paperwork. She is going to need a birth certificate, his blood type and everything like that." Alpha Allen said. As soon as he said that, I started working on the paperwork. "Once we see if Lydia wants to keep him, we will be back for the paperwork."
I nodded telling him that I heard him. They then walked out and went to, I guess, talk to Lydia while I worked on the paperwork.
Alpha Allen's POV
So we just found out that the baby wasn't Brentin's. Now Antoine and I are on our way to talk to Lydia about her getting the baby and raising him. We got to the pack house and found Lydia, in the kitchen with the baby boy in her arms. "Lydia, I have a question for you." I told her.
"What do you need Alpha Allen?" She asked.
"Well, the baby is Kip's. So Brentin and Aaryana both said to either let you have the baby or adopt him out to another family. Do you want him?" I asked her.
"YES!!!" She squealed.
"Alright, well we need to go to the pack doctor's office so you can get his birth certificate, name him and put your name down as his mother since the certificate is blank." I told her. She happily picked up the little boy and started skipping to the pack doctor's office. Once we got there, the pack doctor handed her the certificate and told her to fill it out. While she was doing that she was talking to herself.
"Name: Eden. DOB: 11/11/13. Mother: Lydia DeChiara. That's all I know right now. I haven't found my mate, so I can't put him down as the father." Lydia said.
"We can fill the 'father' in when you find your mate." Lottie said. "Congratulations on your baby boy!"
"Thank you." Lydia said and then walked out to take her baby boy back to their room.
Aaryana's POV
The baby isn't Brentin's. Does that mean that he will fight to keep one of the kids? Two of the kids? All of the kids? Will he try to take the kids from me? Will he try to force his mark on me? Will he follow me if I do leave and then kidnap the kids? What will Kip say knowing that he has a son with his mate?
I watched as Brentin walked with us. He seemed to walk with a bounce to his step. Like he was happy the baby wasn't his. But why would he be happy? I noticed how his posture completely changed inside the doctor's office; it was like a big weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.
"Brentin, why are you all of a sudden so uplifted? When the doctor mentioned that the baby was Kip's it was like a big weight was lifted off of your shoulders, why?" I asked. I don't know why, but I had to know his answer.
"I feel like a big weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I didn't really want the baby to be mine. Now that I know he isn't, I can focus on our three kids. I can give them all my love and attention. And, maybe one day in the future, hopefully the near future, you will give me another chance at being a mate." He told me. He looked so hopeful.
"Maybe, I don't know yet. But like I told you yesterday, you still need to prove yourself to me before I even think of giving you another chance to be my mate." I said. I watched as his hopeful face turned into determined.
"I will. If I have to prove myself until the end of time, I will." He told me. I nodded telling him I heard.
"What happens now? I mean are you going to try to take any of the kids away from me? Just to let you know, if you do, I will declare war on your pack!" I told him seriously.
"No, I will not take any of the children from you. But, I would like to be in their lives." He said. "Where are you going?"
"Well, I am going to see my babies." I told him.
"Can I come?" He asked.
"I was thinking of bringing them up to your pack house since you already know about them. You can come and help me carry them." I told him. He nodded and then we went to get the kids.
Brentin's POV
The baby isn't mine. The baby isn't mine. Julie's baby isn't mine! That's the only thought that is going through my head right now. I am glad that the doctor found out that I wasn't the father. But, I have to admit, that's great news.
That's the best news I have gotten since I found out that Aaryana had our children. Also the best news I have gotten since Aaryana gave me a second chance to be friends. I think Aaryana did the right thing saying to let Lydia have the boy. Lydia has been there 24/7 since the baby was born. To take him from her would hurt her too much. I'm glad Aaryana realized that.
After leaving the doctor's office, I went with Aaryana to get the triplets and bring them to the pack house. As soon as we got to Aaryana's dads house, I had a thought come to me. "Aaryana, would you stay at the pack house, my pack house, so I can make sure that you and the kids are safe while Kip is doing his attack?" I asked her.
"The whole pack is going to be staying there. Including mine. So yeah I have to be there as well as everyone else." She said. I let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding. At least I will be able to keep them safe. Even if she doesn't want me near her, I have to keep her protected because if anything ever happened to her or the kids, I would lose my mind. "Alright, come on. Dad and Antoine are going to come here later and pack some stuff for me and the kids, as well as themselves."
We then started back to my pack house with the kids in our hands. Two in my hands; Daniel and Zander, and one in her hands; Angelica. She was also carrying their diaper bag that had their diapers, wipes, bottles, etc. Once we made it back to the pack house, she put kids in a guestroom on the bed with pillows around them so they wouldn't fall off the bed. Then she went and put all of their things up and to make a bottle for each of them.
