Chapter 26: Chapter Twenty-Four: Another Captain

Factory ResetWords: 11056

"Well, well. It might just be my eyes talking, but you... You have seen better days brother." The Protogen spoke through his mind-speak, something that B-64 hadn't used in such a long time. B-64 grimaced at the thought, gripping onto Mason for support as he shot a glare at the offending protogen.

The Protogen laughed, cold and cynical. The Rose Gold Captains cloak shined even in the shadows as he walked towards them, the lights over his head popping one by one, "I have to say, you have done quite a bit of damage. I'm impressed"

"What is that?" Marissa asked, a deep seeded primal fear exuding from her core. Axel stood behind her, wondering the same question yet not voicing it. The Protogen growled threateningly, plainly telling them to shut up.

"Such a simple language. Did you know they don't even have a universal language on this planet? Ridiculous." The Protogen rattled his claws against The Foundations walls. B-64 did a quick scan of him, revealing parts that he had no idea what they did, despite B-64 being a much newer model.

B-64 did know this protogen's name. He had only encountered him once before, when he first was let out of his incubation tube. B-04, the third in command to B-01, the first of the B-Series.

But the Protogen exuded a maddening field of energy around him, a sort of bubble that could irritate even the toughest of hides. Even now, with all his nerves shot, he could feel his skin and fur crawl with unseen bugs and insects.

But B-04 was a cruel being, B-64 knew that much. He rerouted most of his energy into restoring his reserves, though it would take a moment. If they could stall enough, they might be able to escape him.

Mason held onto B-64, fists clenched as he stood up. He could tell by B-64's body language that whatever the other Protogen was, it wasn't good. He didn't have anything to say, impulsively standing up to prevent the being from coming any closer.

"I sense that you like this one, and that you wish to escape. If you truly do care for it, then you will comply." B-64 hadn't said anything. In truth, he forgot how to, but the thinly veiled threat loomed in his mind, and the increase of his synthetic heart, as well as the adrenaline kicked his Generator into overtime.

He felt the energy come back to him, his sensors finally kicking back on and repairing the damage done to his body. He gripped Masons' hand, pulling himself up and standing to meet B-04.

He allowed the energy to flow directly into his processor, restoring a faint inkling of a memory. He clenched his fist and attempted to communicate, "Do not threaten Mason." Was all B-64 said, hearing his own voice again for the first time in nineteen and a half years.

The Protogen produced an audible sigh, though the visor's face showed anything other than irritation. He seemed to prefer fighting rather than talking, "I've been given authority to take you in with force if necessary. I'm glad that you chose that route."

B-64 glared at the other protogen, pixelated eyes burning with passion, "I've waited nineteen earthen years. You have not come." B-04 chuckled a little bit, the sound somewhat disturbing coming from him.

"And so what? We have come to collect you and get you off this planet before it is destroyed." B-64 narrowed his eyes, letting his dagger slip out of its socket and into his hand. B-04 laughed again, letting his own chained dagger slip out as well.

B-64 nodded his head backwards with a sharp trill aimed at Mason, telling him to get back. Mason understood, picking Hannah up and pushing his friends back to let B-64 do what he had to do.

B-64 was the first to act, quickly rushing and using his newly acquitted Boson Energy deposits to appear nearly instantly in front of the other protogen, slashing down with his dagger with enough force to shatter the concrete by the wind created.

But B-04 caught it with his own blade, a slightly elongated dagger attached to an oily black chain that extended out his arms socket. The shockwave created by the impact shattered the walls around them, turning them into a fine dust.

B-64 had quickly changed reality around them, altering so that the shockwave only affected a short distance. Gripping the dagger strongly, slid his against the others blade, intending to aim for the others arm.

But B-04 moved out of the way, toying with him by not taking the very easy target of his midsection and instead taking a swipe to his other arm, slicing a thin layer of fur of his skin.

B-64 flung his blade wearily, contorting his arm to slightly curve it and attempted to strike B-04's abdomen, but again, the other protogen reflected it. B-64 felt anger bubble inside him, and began to use it.

He rushed B-04, igniting his shield to block a slash from him and stabbing the protogen in his paw, quickly turning the blade over in his hand to slice through major muscles and veins, nearly severing the entire thing.

Before B-04 could do anything else, B-64 brought his dagger into an upstroke, slicing through his metallic center and ending at his neck. B-64's visor showed a look of satisfaction, before he glanced up at B-04s face of general amusement.

"You know, I expected better from my newer model. You are weaker than any other protogen I have ever seen. You have no strategy, no thought as you attack besides what to do. You fail to realize you are fighting one of your kind." The wounds that B-64 had inflicted had already began to heal.

B-04 gave a thin sneer, gripping B-64 by the neck and pulling him off the ground with little effort. B-64 attempted to stab his older model, gripping his dagger and trying to plung it into B-04's visor.

B-04 caught B-64's arm with his hand, gripping it hard enough to shatter the strong bone. B-64 gave a guttural scratch of pain as B-04 chuckled on, flinging B-64 into the wall. B-04 gave another eerie laugh, sauntering towards the damaged protogen.

"I was hoping for a good fight, but it looks like The Puppets give more stimulation than you, Hehe, who knows how you killed so many." B-64 slowly brought his head up, the crack in his visor threatening to completely shatter it.

B-04 slipped his hand around the smaller protogens neck, aching to just flick his wrist and shatter the spinal column. Though it wouldn't kill B-64, it certainly would damage him.

"Leave him alone!" Mason yelled, finding his voice. Dread mixed with hate as the protogen turned its head, looking at him dead on. Perhaps this planet had worthy opponents there that didn't cheat.

B-04 gripped his dagger and allowed it to slip inside his arm. He closed his visor's facial constructor, configuring his shield generator to do his bidding. A second later, he activated his shield generator.

But what came out was not a shield, but a weapon. A red Mace-like weapon made from Red Boson infused Hard Light, having enough force to crack open a skull with a few pokes. B-04 swung the weapon in his hand, hard light chains attaching it to the generator in his wrist.

He quickly turned to B-64 as long tubes extended out from his claws, attaching themself to the inside of B-64's visor. B-04 twitched for a moment, soaking up the data that B-64 learned about this planet and their language.

Gripping his neck, he now understood English and attempted to speak, "Do you... Fight? Have you any... Idea on what I am?" He asked, his vocal cords and voice box unused to the strange form of communication. The simplicity of it surprising.

Mason clenched his fists so hard that his skin started to turn white. He bared his little fangs, anchoring himself to the floor. He was angry, and although he knew for a singular fact that if he did anything wrong he would most likely die, he was beyond reason at this point.

He had hurt B-64, and that was a transgression that Mason would not allow.

But before B-04 charged at Mason, he heard the faint voice of B-64 through the mind-link. He was at the brink of unconsciousness, but he managed to meekly sputter out, "I'll go. Leave him alone."

B-04 snickered, turning to look at his younger model with moderate intrigue, "I've seen what you have felt. Why do you care so much for this male? Surely you understand that what you are feeling is not right. No Protogen is all-"

B-64's mind voice grew stronger, much more passionate with emotion brimming through every word, "I do not care! I love him, and I enjoy his and his friends' company. Leave them be!" This was much more than he had ever said before, possibly due to getting used to speaking his native language again.

"Sadly we are past that point. But, since you've surrendered, I guess I won't kill them yet." B-04 sheathed his mace, the object disappearing back into the generator. B-04 slowly walked over to B-64 and kneeled down before him.

"You understand that you cannot win. I will be taking them too, we have a few good experiments to run on these inhabitants, and since your little boy provoked me, they technically are considered enemies."

B-64 tried to trill out in warning to Mason, but he was swiftly disconnected for a short time, able to see nor hear anything besides a black void. Alone without feeling, taste, sight, nor smell.

B-04 sighed, retrieving his fingers from the Protogens neck. He had about three hours before B-64 returned back to some state of normality, and it wouldn't take that long to get back to his ship. He wondered how he was going to take the others with him though.

Grinning broadly, he decided that it would be best to toy with them a little. Gripping the protogens lifeless body, he turned his attention to the aghast Mason, "You can carry him... To the ship." B-04 said, voice still having a hard time saying certain words.

Mason felt anger rise in his chest, but he knew B-64 wasn't dead. He could tell by the faint twitches and tremors that ran through his body, and the protogen trilling slightly as he was touched.

Mason found some difficulty in picking B-64, having to dig his paws in just to heave him into his arms. But Mason would rather do it himself then have the Black Protogen before him carry B-64.

Marissa and Axel, although having no idea what had transpired, figured that it would be better to not ask anything until they got somewhere safer. Axel picked Hannah up as Marissa contemplated their situation.

Mason kept his eyes trained on the back of the other protogens visor, his blood boiling. There has got to be a way he could stick it to him, but there was none. Mason hugged B-64 close, grinding his teeth.

There was nothing else he could do but follow.

Hello!

Another chapter today, and I'm feeling really sluggish. Next chapter will be in a while, probably a day or two from now, maybe three. It takes a surprisingly long time to make these.

and I not sure about yawl, but just typing out that B-04 is the Third in command is triggering to me. It's the trust, and as to why is explained later. But it's not important anyways.

But, yeah. I had some fun with the fight scene here. Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
