October was much the same of everything. Dosch had disappeared of the face of the planet, I hadnât seen him in ages. He wasnât around campus anywhere. The ache in my chest had intensified for a while, becoming unbearable at times. I spend my days with Oak and Sebastian, not at the same time, I heard what you were thinking you dirty bastards, but that couldnât quench my aching heart over Dosch even though I could never admit that to them.
When I was not around them I was always with my bodyguard. My strangely intriguing bodyguard.
Sebastian and I had been watching movies all night, Skylark sitting next to us as a third wheel with too much candy in her system. She had probably devoured our entire stack by herself, her period coming up and always turning my best friend into a cookie monster around that time of the month.
Sebastian had been working late, rehearsals for his band, they were starting their first show next week at The Dunnager and my boyfriend was nervous. Even getting him to join me here tonight was something he wasnât eager about, but I told him he needed his relaxation and rest too. He had been fidgeting with my hair or hands all night. Not being able to sit still for one second. âBabeâ¦â
He was currently rubbing up and down a storm on my leg with this left hand. Not really watching the screen.
âIf you want to go⦠than go baby.â I sighed, finding it funny that he would stay here for me.
âW-what?â he snorted as if I had offended him deeply. âI donât want to go. I want to be here with you.â He kissed me gently as if that was convincing me. I raised one eyebrow.
âAnd meâ¦â chuckled Skylark from underneath a handful of popcorn. The extra buttered ones.
âOh thatâs right, you are still here littlest Briareve.â I smacked him in his stomach. âBe nice.â
Skylark threw a popcorn at his head. âOr just go and leave us.â She sang.
I smacked her as well.
âNo⦠but seriously. You want to practice. I can tell.â
âI want to be here with you.â He tried again.
âOkay than tell me what is the movie aboutâ¦?â
He ran a big tatted palm through his unruly chestnut hair and sighed. âA girl and her dog.â I raised that one eyebrow even farther and it stayed quiet for a second too long when he figured out his ruse was up.
âExactly my point.â I scooted him up. âGo Seb. Just go and have fun.â
âLittle bird, I donât have too..â he was trying to not hurt my feelings, I could tell.
âDonât worry about me, I got this one.â I pointed a thumb at Skyâs direction and he put his hands in his pockets, glanced at his Telvice. âI need to tell Oak. Or Andrew.â
Andrew had a night off today, he wouldnât tell me where he was going, always the mystery man that one. I had bugged him all day to tell me what he was going to do today. He wouldnât budge. I had annoyed him with the wildest scenarioâs and finally concluded he was having a spa day, a mani pedi and was sipping on champagne right now. The image of him totally relaxed, doing the one thing he would never do, made me chuckle.
Oak was at his tutoring sessions. I was sure he would cancel them if he got the text from Sebastian that he was needed here. But it didnât want him too; he had already cancelled too many of them because of me. Jax was on his very own date night with Baylor And Ash, well we were still not speaking so that man was a no go.
âThat wonât be necessary. I wonât be trouble.â
Now he was the one to raise one of his eyebrows at me, like that was a complete lie.
âListen to me love, donât leave this room okay. And take that candy away from that one. She will be bouncing of the walls later if you donât stop it.â Skylark threw popcorn at his head.
âIâll be back after practice okay?â
I kissed him. âGo baby. Have fun.â
He kissed me one more time and walked out of there. Giving me one last backwards glance as if he would caught me mid jump out of the window or something.
When the door hit on his way out. Sky turned to me.
âSo where we going?â
