Chapter 78: Valor

‘Sorry… I do not…remember…’ yet, it was at the tip of my tongue. He placed my hand on his chest. Which was odd, but I trusted him.

‘You know me.’ He said once more.

Those eyes. I knew them. I... it was utterly impossible where my mind went.

He smiled softly again. Sitting beside me on the bed. He took a deep breath. ‘You know me Lux… you do.’ He glanced at me again. Waiting on me to realize. ‘Sorry… I do not…remember…’ yet it was at the tip of my tongue. He placed my hand on his chest. Which was odd, but I trusted him.

He just stared at me, dark brows raised in anticipation. I gasped. Grabbed my legs and went to the corner of the bed quickly. My heart beating frantically now.

‘Don’t be scared!’ he said, clearly sad about my reaction. He was holding his hands up again.

‘Leo?’ I gasped. ’But… but…. how… am I dead?’ I spluttered.

He laughed this loud barking laugh that sounded a lot like a dog and I raised my eyebrows.

‘You can look at me as your… guardian…. I guess.’ He winked.

‘All those times… you were a… man…’ I gasped again. Eyes wide.

‘Yeah well… you are a very good petter.’

I gasped again.

‘Just kidding.’

Tears sprung into my eyes.

‘What is going on? Why are you here in this cell… why didn’t you tell me sooner?’

He scuffed and rubbed his eyes. ’I have tried my best for the longest time. You don’t even realize how long.’

‘Then enlighten me!’ Because he was starting to piss me off.

‘You are not… human Lux.’

Well, he came in with the biggest oneliner of all time.

‘You were taken from our realm at a very young age.’ Leo said, eyes intensely on me. ‘The Rainers took you and they experimented on you. Brought you to earth and had you adopted. You are not human, you are not Fae either. You are a hybrid of Fae and Rainer blood.’

I’m a hybrid? What does that even mean?

‘Why do they want to kidnap me and what does the Razz Moros know?’ I was here for a reason. I wasn’t dead yet, it had to mean something.

’Because... Lux. The Faction, Elia Welkin and the others, didn’t just have any Fae kidnapped. You do not just have any fae blood. You are a descendant of The Royal Fae Bloodline. Your real name is Juliette Solaria. The Last Princess of the great city of Valor.’

Thank you for making it this far. As with the first book of the series I wrote this when I was sixteen, many years ago. I still have lots of editing to do and wasn't really expecting it to get so many reads on here. I still felt it was important to put it out there, considering the hours and hours of writing I have put into the books. The characters are very dear to me and they feel like parts of me. I couldn't imagine not sharing Lux, Ash, Oak, Dosch, Sebastian, and Jax with the world.
