As soon as Ellis spoke, Keira immediately narrowed her
eyes.
Was Uncle Olsen truly her father?
She had suspected as much early on, but it wasnât until Jodie South said she never wanted to seeUncle Olsen again that Keira had confirmed it.
After Ellis finished speaking, he slightly tilted his chin up, feeling certain he would have shockedeveryone.
He looked at Keera, expecting to see her overwhelmed with joy â after all, a powerful father hadappeared out of the blue! But what he saw was the woman standi
there indifferently, looking at him without any expression.
Ellis was perplexed.
He turned his gaze to Ken, wanting to say something, but Ken laughed and patted him on the shoulder.âHow clever, youâre really going all out for this project! Isnât it common knowledge that in the pursuit of a
daughter, your father and your second uncle have tried exceedingly hard, yet up to now only sevenboys have been born? Youâve had to adopt two female cousins. from a distant branch⦠where did thiscousin pop out
from?â
Ellis wanted to say more, but Ken cut him off. âAlright, I know you want this project too. Since itâs sucha good project, why donât our two families work together? Miss South, do you have any objections?â
It wasnât necessary for the Olsen family and the Davis family to fall out over a project worth severalhundred million; a partnership was the best model.
When Keira heard this, her gaze swept over Mary and Ellis, and she raised an eyebrow. âThen let Maryhandle the business between the two companies.ânovelbin
âDeal! That settles it!â
Ken smiled and turned again to Ellis. âSince you brought the contract, shall we discuss the details
âSure, then Miss Southâ¦â
Keira looked down to check the time, âIâve got some
other matters to attend to, Director Brian, you can
take care of it.â

O
r
âGot it!â
The newly appointed Director Brian suddenly tilted his chin up, feeling a surge of pride.
Since Mary had to stay to discuss the partnership, Keira nodded at her and prepared to leave for a taxi.
She had an appointment with Howard to get a divorce.
Best get the certificate quickly and avoid further complications.
She had barely taken a few steps when she heard footsteps from behind. Turning around, she sawEllis following her; he was sizing her up. âKeera, you really are my cousin.â
Keira said, âYou must be mistaken, right?â
Ellis thought she didnât believe him. After all, wh could reject such a family background? He thenâForget it. Next time Iâll bring you the DNA test re
Having said that, he continued to appraise her up a
down.
Keira immediately displayed Keeraâs characteristic gentleness and timidity.
Looking at those familiar features but unfamiliar expressions, Ellis thought of the valiant woman he hadmet in Oceanion and momentarily lost focus.
He suddenly asked, âDid you ever attend Mrs. Hortonâs funeral service?â
Keira looked down. âYes, Howard wanted to build connections, so he took me there and even claimedto others that I was Mrs. Hortonâs high school classmate.â
This statement silenced Ellis!
After a while, he suddenly sighed. âThen have you ever
met Lewis?â
Upon hearing this name, Keira felt a tightness in her chest as if an invisible hand had gripped her hearttightly.
For the past month, she had been forcing herself mimic Keeraâs demeanor, looking after Amy diligenand reading Keeraâs diary at night in hopes of findin traces of the âSouth familyâ to save her motherâ¦
She had tried to make herself forget that name.
But now, as Ellis brought it up, she realized that the name âLewisâ were like a thorn embedded deep inher
marrow.
A pang of pain would ensue whenever it was prodded.
She lowered her gaze. âYes, Iâve seen him.â
âHas Lewis seen you?â Ellis asked curiously.
He had had people dig into Keeraâs background
thoroughly, so he was sure that the person before him
was Keera and not Keira.
Keira, however, asked back, âMr. Ellis, what do you mean by that?â
Ellis noticed her displeasure and explained, âI donât
know how to say this, but ever since Mrs. Horton
passed away, Lewis has been immersed in pain and
hasnât come out of it.â
Keira was slightly stunned.
She tensed her jaw.
He hasnât come out of it, probably because it hasnât been long enough!
There was no wound that time couldnât heal.
Moreover, he still had to be with his old flame and his
saviorâ¦
Ellis sighed. âForget it, itâs no use telling you. You donât know them. By the way, where are you goingnow?â
Keira looked down and said nothing.
But Ellis realized something. âAre you getting a divorce
from Howard?â
Keira paused and nodded.
Ellis misunderstood her expression. âYou canât still be hung up on that scumbag, can you? Keera, Iâmreally speechless, canât you be a bit stronger?â
Keira remained silent.
Ellis said disdainfully, âCanât you hold your head up high? What do you have to be ashamed of? Youlook like a victim every day⦠Seeing you with Keiraâs face and putting on this act, Iâm really not used toit!â
Keira was perplexed.
Ellis continued. âCanât you be a bit more assertive? After all, your surname is also Olsen. You shouldbe Keera Olsenâ¦â
His words were cut off as he suddenly froze.
Keera Olsen⦠Keira Olsen?
He paused briefly, then said, âForget it. The name
doesnât matter, just be tougher! Donât let anyone bully you! Even if you canât be exactly like Keira, atleast show a third of her spirit!â
Keira held back and finally couldnât help saying, âMr. Ellis, are you bored?â
Ellis said, âNo, Iâm not⦠Are you calling me nosy?â
Mid-sentence, Keira already hailed a taxi, entered it, and drove off, leaving Ellis shouting angrily on the
spot.
âAm I not doing this for her own good? And she talks to me like that!â
He assistant said, âMr. Ellis, the car is here.â
Ellis got into his own car, huffing. âFollow that car.â
The assistant was dumbfounded.
Ellis couldnât help saying, âSheâs my only cousin, and I canât just watch her go get bullied by others!!â
The taxi soon arrived at the courthouse.
After getting out of the taxi, Keira walked in and
immediately saw Howard and Cindy waiting for her impatiently.
Howard stepped forward, âKeera, whatâs the matter with you? Why are you so late? You donât want adivorce, do you?â
Cindy quickly said, âCan you be quick about it? Howard doesnât love you anymore. Why are you stillclinging on? You really have no shame!â
Keira took a deep breath.
Be patient.
She must bear with them.
Once she got the divorce certificate, everything would be perfectly resolved!
She didnât speak and went with Howard to the serv
window.
The divorce certificate was processed quickly.
When the official stamped the certificate, Keira even felt her hand itchingâ¦
She finally fulfilled her sisterâs first wish. She got
divorced!!
