âI think itâs a good idea.â
James answered seriously.
Victoria was dumbfounded.
She subconsciously looked toward her uncle, only to hear Uncle Olsen say, âI remember you ownproperties under your name, right?â
Victoria was shocked!
She felt like sheâd played herself!
She hurriedly started to speak, âNo, Uncle, Iâ¦â
âI have one, you can stay at my place for the time being!â
James interrupted her.
Victoria was speechless.
It was the first time she felt the pain that the simple-minded man could bring!
She bit her lip, about to say something when James patted her shoulder. âEven though you are ourfoster
sister, you donât have to feel embarrassed. After all, we
grew up together. My house is your house, so feel free to stay as long as you like!â
Then he turned, eyes shining toward Uncle Olsen. âUncle, shall I tell Keera tomorrow that Victoria has
left so she can move back in?â
Uncle Olsen said, ââ¦you go ahead.â
He was too tired to deal with this foolish nephew and simply entered the house, glancing back atVictoria before he entered. âAsk Carmen to help you pack your
bags.â
He clearly wanted to drive her away overnight!
Victoria took a deep breath, almost losing her balance.
She clenched her teeth tightly, nodding after a while. âOkay, Uncle.â
Clenching her fists, she slowly entered her own room and started packing her belongings. Lookingaround the room she had lived in for over twenty years, her eyes were filled with resentment.
Why?
Why should she be driven out just because that
pampered girl from the Olsen family returned?
What did the Olsen family think of her?
Tears began to gather in Victoriaâs eyes as she spitefully took in everything around her.
She, Victoria, would surely return one day!
And she would return gloriously!!
The car soon arrived at the South familyâs home.
Just as Keera entered, she saw Rebecca sitting in the living room, arguing with Samuel.
Samuel taunted her sarcastically, âWell, if it isnât Miss Allen herself. Didnât you refuse to cooperate withmy boss a while back? What brings you to our doorstep now? Arenât you worried about sullying yourprecious feet in my bossâs humble abode?â
Rebecca hung her head in the face of his sarcasm. âI⦠I didnât mean to beforeâ¦â
âThat still wasnât polite to my boss. I heard you even wanted my boss to leave Maryâs wedding, threatening her by suicide? Miss Allen, the doors to the Allen
family are truly hard to enter!â
Rebeccaâs face flushed red, and she stood up abruptly, bowing her head to Samuel.
That action took Samuel by surprise.
He immediately sprung up from the sofa. âWhat are you doing?â
Rebeccaâs eyes were slightly red as she replied, âI failed to recognize Miss Keira before, Iâm sorry!â
Samuel was dumbfounded.
He became uncomfortable immediately, even stuttering in his reply. âItâs okay, it doesnât matter. I justhave a sharp tongue, donât take it to heartâ¦â
Rebecca nodded. âWhen you came to my house before, I even scolded you. I owe you an apology, Iâmsorry.â
âYouâre welcome, really, itâs nothing. Besides, you scold pretty nicely, so feel free to do so more often.Itâs alright.â
Rebecca was confused.
Samuel scratched his head.
As a veteran in the field of romance, this was the first
time he had encountered someone so fixated on the
truth, and he found himself at a loss.
Fortunately, at that moment, Keira and the others
returned.
He immediately felt as if he had been released and
rushed to Keira. âBoss, this is the collaboration contract with the Allen family. Iâve brought it to you. If
thereâs nothing else, Iâll be leaving now!â
Before leaving, he glanced back at Rebecca.
Rebecca was staring at him. Seeing him turn around, she bowed again.
Samuel was so frightened that he tumbled and
scrambled out the doorâ¦
Keira didnât know what to say.
When Lewis saw Rebecca, his brow immediately
furrowed.novelbin
Didnât she go home a couple of days ago? Why was she back again?
Suspicious, he eyed Keira warily. Surely these three
women werenât planning to stav un all night talking
again?
Luckily, Mary was pregnant and not suited for staying up lateâ¦
Rebecca was a bit nervous. âI heard that Austin Gill has been trying to cause trouble for you. Thewhole of Clance is buzzing with talk that he beat you up⦠How was the family reunion feast today?â
The feast that night didnât actually invite people from the five major families but just the Olsen familyâsown
members.
After all, Keira wanted to keep a low profile.
Keira assured her that everything went smoothly, and Rebecca breathed a sigh of relief. She thencontinued.
âAbout Austin, itâs not really an issue. But after this ruckus, it might be difficult for you to cooperate withthe Gill family.
Although Rebecca didnât understand why Keira would want to have relationships with all five majorfamilies, she still tried her best to help gather information.
Keira pressed her lips together.
Without mentioning how Jackson constantly bullied
Keera back at the Freeman Sect, just the rumors Austin spread about Mary had tarnished herreputation. That grudge was set.
Howeverâ¦
âThereâs always a way out. Letâs not talk about the Gill family for now. My primary goal is to join theFreeman Sect first!â
After saying that, Keira looked at Rebecca, âIf I were Jamesâs sister, do you think James could get meinto
the Freeman Sect?â
Rebecca thought for a moment and nodded, âThere shouldnât be a problem. You might not recognizeJamesâs significance to the Freeman Sect.â
Since her return, Rebecca had already begun to gather information for her. âAs a second seniorbrother, James
is in love with Kate Freeman, the daughter of the Freeman Sect Leader, and theyâre engaged. TheOlsen family and the Freeman family had long agreed that the first two children they bear would carrythe Freeman surname. So, unless that mysterious eldest
senior sister marries into the Freeman family, the position of the Sect Leader will likely fall to James. The
Sect Leader must have the surname Freeman, and
thatâs a fundamental rule of the Freeman Sect.â
Keira nodded.
Rebecca added. âSo, as a second senior brother, James has a lot of say in the Freeman Sect. At thevery least, he can let you become a direct disciple of his Master, which would make you a legitimatemember of their lineage.â
Keira was relieved to hear this.
Time quickly moved to the next day.
Keira and James agreed on a time to meet at the entrance of the Freeman Sect.
James saw that it was still Lewis who had brought her over and immediately hesitated, ultimately notsaying anything, but leading Keira inside while speaking, âVictoria has moved out to live on her own. When are you moving back in?â
Seeing his enthusiasm, Keira immediately said, âMaybe
in a while.â
James nodded, then smiled and said, âI called my Master yesterday, and he agreed. He even plans to
have the Sect Leader witness your discipleship
ceremony todayâ¦â
Keira was taken aback. âIsnât this hasty? The discipleship ceremony is today?â
âYeah, the Master is just taking you as a named discipleâ¦â James spoke as they walked. âThe rest ofus had very formal ceremonies except for our eldest
senior sister, who was taken as a disciple by the Sect Leader outside the sect.â
James said, âSister, youâve been in the outer sect for so many years, and it might be too late for you topractice martial arts. So, thereâs no need to hurry after becoming a disciple. Iâll help you train at asteady pa After all, not everyone is like our eldest senior sister,
who began training at the age of fifteen and now has an iron-clad body. I heard the Sect Leader saythat I canât even last thirty moves against her, sheâs so formidableâ¦
âItâs about time for the eldest senior sister to return, isnât it? Why havenât we heard anything? When wesee the Sect Leader, Iâm going to ask himâ¦â
