The classmate was taken aback when she saw the
situation in the ward.
Then she stopped in her tracks, staring in disbelief at the scene before her. Her gaze swept over LadyGill, Austin, and the others before finally landing on Nara, who was kneeling on the ground. She askedwith confusion, âNara, whatâs going on?â
Nara shook her head, then reached out with her uninjured hand.
Hesitant, the classmate took out Naraâs phone. She looked at Nara as if she had seen the plague, tossed the phone into Naraâs hand, and ran off. Soon after, another classmateâs voice came fromoutside. âWhat happened? You look so shakenâ¦â
âShhh, it seems like Nara has offended some big shotâ¦â
Then, there was no more sound from outside, only the footsteps of those classmates sneaking away.
Nara gave a bitter smile.
She knew that after today, her classmates would
surely avoid her like the plague.
She lowered her gaze.
Austin then said, âNara, see? Everyone knows we are. important people. How could you be so blind asto provoke us? Do you think just because youâre with Keera, you can do as you please in Clance? Letme tell you, the Gill family is not someone you can affront so
easily!â
He left that remark hanging and continued. âYou keep kowtowing. After ten times, I promise I wonâtcause
trouble for Matias!â
Keira rebuked angrily, âAustin, thatâs enough! Are you treating Nara like this just because of me?â
âYes, I am taking it out on her because of you, so
what?â
Austin admitted outright. âYouâre an Olsen family member, so I canât touch you, but I can do whatever Iwant to her and her brother, those two lackeys! Nara, are you going to kowtow or not? You still owe useight!â
Keira clenched her fists and stepped forward, grabbing stin by the collar. âDo vou think I wouldnât dareto
hit you?â
âMiss Olsen, do you think Iâm just a fixture here?â
Lady Gill shouted angrily, âIf you dare to touch a hair. on my son, Iâll immediately get back at the Olsen
family. The Gill family would do everything to get it even!â
Keira tightened her fingers and let out a cold laugh. âLetâs try it, then!â
But the next moment, her trouser leg was tugged.
Keira turned around and saw Nara looking up at her with a hint of pleading in her eyes.
Those eyes seemed to say, âPlease donât get involved in my affairsâ¦â
Keira paused slightly.
Back in Oceanion, she had worked part-time to pay for her tuition, and she understood thehelplessness of
minor characters and insignificant roles.
Nara and Matias were caught up in the two familiesâ affairsâ¦
To them, this was indeed an undeserved calamity.
But the Gill family wouldnât see it that way. If they
didnât vent their anger today, they would continue to cause trouble for them in the future.
Matias and Nara didnât want to be the canaries
protected by the Olsen family; they wanted to be free.
The only option was to extricate themselves from this
situation.
Keira saw the meaning in the depths of Naraâs eyes and clenched her fists tightly with a sense ofpowerless
rage.
If only she or the Olsen family were more powerful, and they could make the Gill family listen to themand give an order that would make the Gill family not dare touch the siblings, perhaps todayâs troubleswouldnât
exist.
Keira felt a pang of self-reproach and then slowly turned to Austin. âCan you promise that youâll nolonger mess with them after this?â
Austin looked down. âMy reputation in Clance isnât the best, but thereâs one thing Iâm known for, andthat is keeping my word! As long as today, she gives our family a chance to vent our anger, I wonâttrouble
them again!â
Keira turned back to Nara.
She saw a hint of gratitude in Naraâs eyes, and then
Nara gently shook her head.
Keira understood her choice.
Nara wanted peace.
Keira tightened her jaw, feeling humiliated, and released Austinâs collar. Then she slowly stepped back.
Nara nodded to her in appreciation.
Then she turned her gaze back to Jackson.
Jackson sneered coldly, his eyes sinister as he watched her, his sight again scanning over Austin andLady
Gillâ¦
Then came the sound of Naraâs forehead hitting the floor with a âbangâ once more.
âThe third one!â
Keira reminded them.
âBang!â
The fourth one!â
Keiraâs voice was trembling.
âBang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bangâ¦â
Nara didnât want to slowly accept the humiliation anymore. Her forehead forcefully knocked on the floor, making a muffled sound.
The floor where her forehead landed was alreadynovelbin
stained with blood.
Keira couldnât even count how many times Nara had kowtowed; she immediately steadied Nara,âEnough!â
âOne more to go.â
Jackson said aggressively.
Austin found it unbearable to watch, but hearing Jacksonâs words, he understood that his brother hadnâtvented his anger yet, so he arrogantly said, âYes, one
more!â
Keiraâs eyes were red with anger, âLook at the state sheâs in!â
âBut still, thereâs only nine!â
Jackson arrogantly declared, âIf itâs anything less than ten, todayâs matter wonât be settled!â
Keira wanted to speak again, but Nara once again
buried her head. âBang!â
She knocked her head until she was dizzy and bleary-eyed, her forehead already swollen and
bleeding. Everything in front of her seemed somewhat
blurry.
âWeâre done!â
Keira shouted sternly and then helped Nara up.
Staggering, Nara was assisted to her feet by Keira, who then looked toward Austin.
Keira caught on to her intention and immediately said, âIs it enough now? Austin, you promise youwonât harass her and her brother again!â
Austin met Naraâs persistent gaze.
For some reason, Austin felt reminded of his sister.
He pursed his lips, about to nod, when he heard Jacksonâs sarcastic remark. âTodayâs incident might besettled, but that doesnât mean Iâve forgotten about the past!â
That remark caused Keiraâs pupils to shrink, her gaze
ing toward him.
Jackson watched them with a sinister gleam, âFor the matters of the past, I wonât let it drop!â
With these words, a burst of hatred and irritation
suddenly surged from Naraâs eyes. Her voice was hoarse as she said, âYouâ¦bastard!â
âBastard? I am a bastard. What can you do about it?
Hahaha!â
Keira immediately looked at Austin. âDidnât we just agree on that? Doesnât the word of the Gill familycount for anything?â
Jackson, in his psychological perversion, shouted, âAustin was the one who gave you the promise, notme! Austin wonât bother you anymore, but I never said I
wouldnât!â
Austin furrowed his brow.
Nara stared at him intentlyâ¦youâ¦justâ¦didnât youâ¦â
She wanted to say, âThat wasnât what you said earlier,â but she couldnât finish her sentence.
Austinâs brow creased with a rising irritation, and he waved it off. âI have things to do. Iâm busy lookingfor my sister. I donât have time to waste here with you!â
That statement shattered all of Naraâs illusions.
She thought that the words of wealthy people counted for something, but she hadnât expected them tobe so
shameless!
Her head spun, and her steps faltered.
Just as she was about to say something, Keira steadied her by the waist. âNara, Iâll take you home.â
Nara gave a bitter smile and followed Keira slowly
toward the door.
Austin picked up his phone and tried his sisterâs number againâ¦
Meanwhile, the phone that Nara had just picked up started vibrating madly in her hands, and shelooked down. Seeing the caller ID, she abruptly turned her gaze toward Austin.
