Nara picked up her phone in a daze, only to see a text
message.
She took a deep breath, wiped away the tear stains on her face, and opened the message.
The message was from an unfamiliar number, it read. âHello, we have received your resume. Pleasecome to our company for an interview. Nora Research
Institute.ânovelbin
Nara stared at the content, her expression one of
shock and astonishment,
Had she read that wrong?
She frantically wiped the corners of her eyes and
looked at the message again, only to see the words still there, unchanged.
She suddenly stood up, staring incredulously at her phone.
What was going on?
The Nora Research Institute replied to her email?!

She was so astonished that she burst into tears of joy.
While she was shocked, a neighbor said, âNara, what are you doing here? I just saw your older brother. He looked furious as he walked by. Did something happen.
at home?â
Nara was taken aback.
She quickly grabbed the neighborâs arm and wrote, âYou said my brother just saw me from a distance?â
âYeah, he was standing there watching you for quite some time. When I came over to say hello, I sawhim. take out his phone and check your schoolâs intranet. Then he stormed off. Didnât somethinghappen?â
A shock went through Naraâs chest as she suddenly realized what was happening.
âThank you,â she wrote.
Leaving these words behind, she immediately dashed toward the hospital where she was interning.
Her brother must have seen her crying, then looked at the school intranet and discovered everythingthat happened. He was on his way to stand up for her!
Damn it!
O
Then she remembered the bodyguards from the Gill family at the hospital. Biting her lip, she quicklytook out her phone and texted Keira while running.
âKeera, my brother went to see Jackson!â
After sending the message, she got on the bus and anxiously urged the bus driver to move faster.
Indeed, even in such a tense moment, Nara never considered taking a taxi. In her mind, that was anextremely luxurious thing to do.
The bus soon reached her stop, and she ran as fast as possible, but she was still a few steps behindher
brother.
In the hospital room, Jackson was humiliating Ma
âWhatâs the use of begging me by kneeling here? Le me tell you, I donât want your apology. Your sisterwa here the other day; she gave me ten loud, useless
kowtows!
âHow about this? Crawl under my bodyguardâs crotch! Oh, and maybe pee yourself afterward and thenlick it clean? Then I might consider letting your sister off the
hook!â
O
)
Then came Matiasâs enraged roar. âJackson, donât push your luck! My surname is still Gill. Arenât youafraid Iâll go to the head of the Gill clan?â
The Gill clan was a major clan in Clance, with their own head and clan records.
Normally, people appeal to them for resolution of any matter, only turning to the police as a last resort.
These were deemed internal affairs of the Gill family,
after all.
Jackson laughed scornfully upon hearing this. âWhat are you? Do you think you can just enter the clanheadâs residence at will? And have you forgotten..â
Jackson laughed arrogantly. The current head of t Gill clan is my father! Are you going to complain abme to my father? How hilarious! Matias, you and you sister are just distant relatives from who knowshow many generations ago. Do you think my father will favor me or you?â
Nara felt as if she was struck by lightning, and she froze in place upon hearing this.
She stared fixedly at the door of the hospital room.
O
She was utterly baffled.
Wasnât this a society ruled by law? Why could Jackson
be so brazen?
Nara clenched her fists tightly, her fingertips touching the jade pendant around her neck.
If it was a matter of status, didnât that make her the legitimate heir to the direct lineage?
She was shaking. Blood rushed to her head as she suddenly strode into the hospital room!
At the South residence.
Keira had just woken up and was looking at her
Before she opened Naraâs message, Lewis said, âM and Nara have gone to see Jackson.â
Only then did Keira see the content of the message.
She stood up abruptly. âWhy did they go to see
Jackson?â
Lewis remarked coolly, âTheyâre just making trouble for themselves.â

O
them off just because they said a few nice words to
him.
They were too naive!
Before Keira could act, Lewis had already handed over her coat, leading her outside.
Keira had long become accustomed to his meticulous care, and they left the house together.
Lewis suddenly slowed down the car as they drove out of the neighborhood. Keira was slightly takenaback. âWhatâs wrong?â
Lewis pointed toward somewhere not far away.
Keira turned and realized that Ellis had been silent standing there, intently watching their gate.
Keira didnât know what to say.
So, he hadnât been waiting in front of the villa but had come here to stay all night?
His suit was still damp, and his hair seemed to have dried in the wind. His complexion was pale, andhis lips were colorless. He looked exhausted as if he had caught a cold.
