"Is this the place?"
I stopped in front of a large mansion and looked around. There was no other building nearby, so this had to be it.
The letter, having served its purpose, crumbled in my hand. I had wondered why it only came with a key and no address, but it turned out the letter itself had guided me here.
Nika and Beatrice were disappointed they couldnât accompany me, but since I planned to leave right after meeting with Leona and Aria, and since the Crown Prince had given direct orders, they had no choice but to accept it.
As soon as I used the enclosed key to open the gate and stepped into the garden, a detection spell lightly swept over me. Of course, they wouldnât rely on just a physical lock for security.@@novelbin@@
The detection spell continued to scan me every few steps as I crossed the garden. I ignored half of them and deflected the rest as I approached the mansionâs door. There was a lock identical to the one on the gate.
"Do I really need to use the key?"
I wondered as I pulled out the key. The lock clicked, and I heard it disengage.
"...?"
But that was it. Despite the lock being undone, the door didnât open. I looked down at the key, wondering what it had unlocked.
As I stood there puzzled, the door opened slightly. A chain prevented it from fully opening, and through the gap, Rosaria peeked out.
"Password."
"What password?"
