After finally selling all the pork, Xu Qi went elsewhere to borrow some items to wash off the oily residue from her hands before taking Ye Lan’s hand.

She pointed to the end of the street and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you to a clothing store.”

Ye Lan carefully looked at it and then nodded gently.

It was a long-sleeved blue shirt, made of soft fabric.

Xu Qi then said, “Wrap this one up.”

“Do you want anything else? Isn’t this one nice?” Xu Qi picked a white one.

She liked men in white clothes.

But this time, Ye Lan was silent.

“I don’t want it.” He tugged at Xu Qi’s arm, but his eyes couldn’t move away from that piece of clothing.

His liking for that shirt was evident to Xu Qi.

“Just this one then, wrap it up,” Xu Qi said.

Ye Lan was taken aback for a moment, looking up at Xu Qi with an indescribable expression.

“Alright, this is made of good fabric in our store. Lady is really good to the gentleman,” the clerk sighed.

Xu Qi smiled, thinking it’s just two pieces of clothing, nothing special.

She knew Ye Lan felt restrained, so she didn’t ask further, but instead, picked some fabric for jackets for him.

After buying these, Xu Qi continued to search the entire shop, finally setting her eyes on a snow-white cloak and was about to walk over.

Ye Lan hurriedly stopped her, “Mistress, let’s not buy that. I already have enough clothes, and besides, you’ve bought a lot already.”

From their living arrangements, Ye Lan could tell that mistress’s family wasn’t wealthy, so how could she spend money like this?

When the clerk finished packing, Ye Lan subconsciously reached out to take it, but Xu Qi took it back from him.

“How can I let the gentleman carry things?” Xu Qi said as Ye Lan stood beside her, smiling.

“What would you like for dinner tonight?”

“Mistress decides, and I’ll listen to you,” he said, leaning against Xu Qi’s side. Though they were in public, his voice was not intentionally controlled, causing a few passersby to look at them strangely.

Xu Qi furrowed her brows.

But for the sake of face, Xu Qi just lightly nudged Ye Lan, “Why are you nervous? I’m not angry.”

After saying that, Xu Qi remembered something, pointed at the clothes, and said, “But your words still hurt me a bit. As punishment, you should wash all these clothes.”

The girl’s smiling face was so vivid that it made people can’t help but feel affectionate.

Ye Lan had intended to take care of all these anyway. Now that he could make the girl happy with this, what reason did he have to refuse?

“As long as mistress is not angry, I’ll do anything,” he said, truly indulging her.
