Joslyn's pov

I trudged home after parking my car. Sydney had just dropped me off to find her boyfriend, Matt. I live with my younger siblings, Alden, Bethany, Weston and Gavin. Where are our parents you ask? Well they are both in prison. I did mention a little bit let me explain more.

When I was eighteen and old enough to take everyone's custody, I reported them to the police and there was a lawsuit. Thankfully, we won and we lived happily ever since. My brother, Alden also is currently training in my company. He's currently undergoing training as he wants to be a business man. Only Sydney knows about my family background.

And why did I report to the police, my parents did something horrible to my siblings and I. To add on, they had committed multiple crimes. Let's just say they would be in jail for a long time.

Flashback (when Joslyn was 13)

School life was tough. Alden was pretty popular while I was a loner. We were also pretty low in income and I had started working odd jobs to support the family. I can we have different ways on coping with our family issues.

There was a new girl in class. She was everything I wished I could be. From her long and luscious hair to her bright blue eyes, she was so pretty. Her hair was held back with a rubber band, in a half up half down hairstyle. She didn't have bruises. She didn't have scars. She didn't have wounds. She seemed strong. Something I really wanted to be.

"Joslyn!" The math teacher, Mrs David, called me. "What's the answer?"

"Um- ah..." I stuttered as the class bursted into fits of laughter. However only that new girl didn't laugh. In fact, she gave me an encouraging look, making me emboldened.

"What's the question Mrs David?" I asked politely.

"What's the answer to question seven?" She said. She was also not angry. In fact, she was more reassuring, which i was glad.

"Oh a, $155" I answered as she gave me a smile and nod before proceeding with the class. At the end of my lesson, I went and thank the new girl.

"Hi, just want to say thanks" I told her shyly. I was such an introvert.

"Oh no problem. I'm Sydney!" She exclaimed, hugging me too tightly, causing me to wince pretty loudly. She must have heard me since she looked at me shocked.

"What's wrong?" She asked, concern written all over her face. Unable to keep my fake face on, I bursted into tears, bringing her to the toilet as I told her about my family, unable to hide anymore. Surprising how I just told her everything despite just meeting her once.

She comforted me and since then we have been best friends. Her parents also knew and constantly lend my brother and I a helping hand. She really was a life saver.

Flashback over

"Hey guys!" I said as I hugged the rest of my siblings. The maids helped to make dinner while I changed out of my clothes.

We had a good time bonding, before I went back to my room and relax for a night.

Friday

Today, the two Turner's were coming back for some deals. It was currently 9.40am and my brother, Alden would be joining me with the meeting as he wanted to also start his own business and wants to learn from me as I have said earlier.

"You nervous?" I asked. He nodded. I could see his sweaty palms and looking around quickly.

"The Turner's are here" Cindy told us as we nodded before entering the meeting room.

"Hey Jerome and Gabriel oh. This is my brother, Alden" I told them. There were another two figures sitting there. Wonder who they are.

"My younger siblings, who are also twins, Josh and Joanna" Jerome explained. I nodded and said, "Shall we get started?"

The meeting had us done many discussions on them investing into ours and vice versa. Since they were a food and beverage company while mine was a wedding planning business, it would benefit both companies since it links and we both would advertise for each other.

"Or would you want to hold like an exhibition to attract more consumers" Joanna suggested.

"Hm, that's a good idea! It'll attract more consumers for both parties" Alden piped in.

"Ok so all on board?" I asked as they nodded. "Okay, so my assistant would settle the logistics and would email to you okay" I told them as they nodded. "Okay thanks everyone. Nice working with you!" I smiled and shook each of their hands as Cindy, my assistant brought them down.

"You know what to do right?" I questioned Cindy as she nodded, skipping off. I swear she is always so hyper. Wonder what she does to make her so hyper. Okay never mind. Work time.

I spent the next few hours doing some paper work and a few logistics with Cindy. She managed to get everything done by today which was impressive as not only the time slots and dates whatsoever, there are also vendors, brochures, workers, everything needed. This is why Cindy is the best personal assistant. She always helps me and is always so positive unlike me.

Sydney's parents also helped my siblings and I a lot. They knew about my dream to start a wedding planning business. They were pretty well off and generously offered me some money to hire help and build my company where it was today. Though I was known as the self made billionaire, I made a point to let the whole world know about their help.

Without them, I would not be here today. Well, enough reminiscing. I had a few things left to do before having dinner with Sydney and her parents. It was a regular occurrence, at least once a week. Sydney's parents usually picked up my three siblings that were at home.

I first signed some papers and got Cindy to help me with the filing of papers. Then, I called someone from the account department to give me the transactions and looked through to make sure nothing was suspicious. Two things checked.

After that, I confirmed the meetings and plans for this week with Cindy. Next, I went ahead to check the investments I have made and lastly, sending everyone home before I left with Sydney who had just came back after leaving.

"Ready?" I asked as she nodded as we closed up the building before making our way to her parent's house. Well, not a mansion but a little smaller I guess?

•••

We arrived at her parents' place after a good ten minutes. It was a very homely place.

I saw a familiar car parked, indicating everyone else's arrival.

"Hello guys!" Sydney said as we exchanged greetings. Gavin, my youngest brother, hugged me as I ruffled his hair. Though being thirteen, he was mature yet clingy at the same time. It's hard to tell now but you'll see.

"Hey sis" That was Alden, the oldest after me.

"Sup" Weston, going through the phase of the moody teenager.

"Hellooo" My very hyper and only sister greeted me.

"Hi" I greeted them back as I took a seat. As I saw the table, my mouth watered. A vast array of food was spread across the whole dining table. After a long day at work, it was perfect.

As the night went by, I realized it was getting. Despite they not having school tomorrow, I still wanted them not to sleep too late.

"Thanks guys for the dinner, Friday next week same timing?" I asked in confirmation and they nodded as we exited their place.

All five of us clambered into my car as we drive off, listening to classics and talking about our days. It was a regular thing we did every Friday at the car rides.

"OH I OH I OH I OH I! I'M IN THE LOVE WITH THE SHAPE OF YOUUUU!" Alden screeched. It was not a good sound and he always sings the wrong lyrics. whereas Gavin sounded way nicer.

"We push and pull like a magnet too" He had a really nice singing voice unlike Alden.

We finally reached home after twenty minutes of craziness. To end of the night, we decided to watch a movie picked by one of us through scissors paper stone. In the end, Alden won and he chose a random marvel movie and we slowly drifted off to sleep.

Saturday

Saturday's were spent at home working so we could have more time can be spent as a family. It was 7 when I woke up and decided to do some workouts in the gym.

I decided to just run on the treadmill. It was easy and just had to push a few buttons to get it started. Once done, I did my thing, showering, shaving, changing. Refreshed, I went back to the couch and saw that they were all still sleeping and decided to make breakfast for them.

^outfit of the day

Eggs, toast, bacon, sausages. A hearty American breakfast. The smell must have wafted into the living room as I heard four elephant like stomps coming my way.

"FOODDD!!" Gavin yelled in delight as he grabbed a plate of everything, plopped himself on the chair and ate like a hawk.

We all chuckled at the youngest behavior. He loved food, sometimes I wonder if even more than us.

Once I had finished my food, I went to my office at home to do some work. Currently, we were working on the exhibition which would be happening next Saturday. I won't be there but I would be supervising through the cameras since it would be held on a Saturday, and Saturday is for the family.

The venue and all has been set, all we had to do was attract visitors and send invites to other business partners for investment.

Just then, I received a phone call. An unknown number. Who could it be? I thought to myself. As I accepted the call, it was a familiar and husky voice- Jerome.

How the heck did he even get my number?!
