Jerome's pov
After I had sent Joslyn back home, I couldn't help but feel giddy. She hugged me. Hugged me. I mean it might not seem like a big deal but I never let anyone, and I mean anyone hugged me before except for my family members.
What is this feeling? It was not something I had felt before. Yes I was popular in school but I was not the cliche bad boy who slept with other girls, although no shade to them. You gotta do what you gotta do. Peaceâð»
Anyways, I managed to reach home safely at 9pm to see my parents again in a heated make out session. Man, I'm painfully single.
"Uhm..." I attempted to clear my throat, startling them. "Mom, Dad can you please next time go somewhere else to do your thing. It's kinda awkward especially that's not what you expect to see..." Breaking the awkward silence, chiding them as they smiled flustered, a little pink was painted on their cheeks.
"Anyways," I continued, "Where's the twins?"
"Oh their both in their rooms, I think doing their own thing" My dad said, trying to act normal.
"Okay thanks and heed my advice" I teased them and ran away. No parents hanging up on me today. Maybe tomorrow, maybe another day. But not now.
I decided to head back to my room
and take a bath and do what you do at night. While doing my usual night routine, a beautiful face with blonde locks and dazzling blue eyes kept on popping up in mind. I wonder is she thinking of me?
Just what was this feeling about? I was new to this whole love and relationship stuff and clearly was inexperienced. Maybe try to ask my mom? You know what, I should.
Just as I was about to leave, I saw my mom out of the room. Perfect! "Mom? What are you doing here? I was about to call you"
"I knew something was up with you" How the heck. "A mother's six sense" She responded as if she could read my mind. But I won't be surprised if she does.
"So, what is it about baby?" My mother started of. "Well, I know this girl and we had dinner together, talked about random things and I even shared my embarrassing moments ma!! Embarrassing!"
She chuckled at my frustration. "Rome, I think you enjoy her company, maybe even love her"
She said those eleven words before I could even protest.

The next day I woke up not in the best of moods. I spent almost the whole night thinking and even researched: How to know you are in love? So to solve the problem, I decided to go to the gym and exercise.
Exercising always helps me to relax and feel less stress. Let's just leave it that I felt slightly better after everything.
I reached the building at my usual time which was great. The only problem was I couldn't stop thinking about Joslyn. What do I do?
The next few hours I tried to focus on my work and I somehow did it. Unexpectedly, the door opened, showing my two best friend's face, Kyle and Damien.
It had been awhile since we all met due to our work and for them, their relationships with their significant others. We did the bro hug and handshake.
"How's life?" Kyle asked, making the start of our catch up. We zoomed passed everything that had happened for the past few months. I decided to leave out Joslyn for now and about the love situation until I could sort it out... I hope.
"Lunch?" I proposed and to which they nodded so off we went to a simple fast food chain near my office. This was my first time here but I could tell the food was tasty by the aroma of it.
After placing our orders, we all went on our phones, doing things.
"Jerome? Hi there!". Hearing a voice, we all looked up to see Joslyn. Kyle and Damien both had confused looks on their faces and their faces lit up when I introduced her to them. I briefly mentioned about a girl that I was working and they must have connected the dots.
"This is Kyle and Damien and this is Joslyn" Pointing to who is who, they exchanged greeting.
"So what are you doing here?" I questioned.
"Not that there was nothing wrong, just it's not a walk from your office"
"Oh... my siblings wanted to have this for dinner. Found it on a website so I came here to pre order and pick it up at 6.30" She explained. She was like an angel, being so nice to everyone and anyone she meets. I absolutely adore her ki- My thoughts got cut off when I saw all three faces looking at me, making me feel awkward.
"Well Mr wannabe fly boy" Dammit she said the nickname. "I will see you some day" And left.
The moment she left, my two friends turned towards me, "What the heck dude. You told her about your story?!" They asked in disbelief. They both knew I never tell anyone.
"Who is she?"
"What does she do?"
"Why does she look so familiar?"
"Why did you not tell us?"
As you can tell, I was bombarded with questions. "Okay okay guys! I'll tell you everything when we are back in my office" That didn't shut them up.
"Why so secretive huh?"
"That's not what I think it is right?"
"So is she a gold digger?"
"I will not tell you anything ever again" I said which thankfully did the trick of shutting them up.
After reaching the office, they immediately pushed me into my office and started interrogating me.
"Well she is Joslyn James. Ring a bell?" It was as if the light switch turned on when as their faces lit up in recognition.
"Ohhh. So what's the deal between the both of you" Damien questioned, a suspecting look on his face.
"We are business partners" Trying to smooth the tension. "Then why did you tell her?" Damien squinted his eyes, continuing his interrogation with an accusing look.
"It's complicated" I just said which shut up the two shockingly. Both exchanged looks and seemed to talk to through their eyes.
"You like her!" Suddenly, they both said in unison, scaring me. As a response, I just scratched my head and said 'it's complicated' the two words again and luckily let it go.
However, I could not stop thinking about what my mother and my friends said. Do I really like her?
