Appleton HeartbreakWords: 1654

On February 9,2015, the St. Lawrence Saints men's hockey team was ranked number twenty in the day's USCHO poll. St. Lawrence has a record of 16-10-2 and are playing their best hockey at this point in time with multiple players pitching in. St. Lawrence hopes to win ECAC Hockey not only for the regular season but the ECAC Hockey tournament as well. Gunnar Hughes is setting college hockey ablaze and he has St. Lawrence fans hoping for the best for the rest of the season. Coach Carvel will look for production on both sides of the puck with a championship in mind for the Skating Saints.

This St. Lawrence team is an intriguing research project because I didn't know a lot about before writing this book. St. Lawrence, as I mentioned at the beginning of this book, gave me a tour of Appleton Arena in the summer of 2022 after they renovated the wonderful arena. Appleton Arena is probably my favorite arena in ECAC Hockey and the students are always passionate about the game of hockey which is one of the reasons this book means so much to me. Anyway, St. Lawrence's season continues Friday when they play the Quinnipiac University Bobcats on Friday night in Hamden.

My hope is that you're enjoying the story as we relive the 2014-15 season from the perspective of the St. Lawrence Saints. Appleton Heartbreak has been in my head for nine years now and I'm so happy I've written this book. This research project has been so rewarding to me and I can't wait to see what this team does the rest of the way. I can't wait to finish and share this story with you as we are near the end of this journey. Enjoy the rest of the story and let's do that hockey!
