Chapter 34: 16-11-3: #14 Harvard Crimson (12-5-1 ECAC Hockey) (Senior Weekend)

After a dissatisfying tie last Saturday, the St. Lawrence Saints return to Appleton Arena for senior weekend as they play the Harvard University Crimson on the semifinal Friday night of the regular season. With 10:54 left in the first period, Gunnar Hughes scored his tenth goal of the season to make it 1-0 St. Lawrence. With 14 seconds left in the first period, Kyle Criscuolo scored to tie the game 1-1. Kyle Hayton and Steve Michalek matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 1-1 remains our score heading to the second period. With 9:46 left in the second period, Gunnar Hughes scored his eleventh goal of the season to make it 2-1 Skating Saints. With 6:28 left in the second period, Tommy Thompson scored his eighth goal of the season to make it 3-1 SLU. With 5:26 left in the second period, Joe Sullivan scored his fifth goal of the season to make it 4-1 St. Lawrence. Hayton and Michalek matched zeros for the remainder of the period so the Saints lead 4-1 heading to the third period. With 13:01 left in the third period, Mike Marnell scored his seventh goal of the season to make it 5-1 Skating Saints! Kyle Hayton finished off the Crimson and St. Lawrence wins 5-1! St. Lawrence improved to 17-11-3 on the season and 13-5-1 in ECAC Hockey play!
