SRUTHI “The bed looks comfy,” I say crashing on the bed with a sigh. I hear the sound of Madhav's chuckle before he joins me in the king-sized bed. There is a lot of space for us, unlike the double cot in my brother's mansion. There are also a couple of more pillows than what we had in my brother's house. So, I half expect, Madhav to construct the pillow wall but he seems to be content with lying next to me. I snuggle closer to him and his arms wrap around me. This place more cooler than I expected. That is the only reason why snuggle closer to Madhav. Not because I enjoy having his arms around me. "What is our plan?” I ask. “For now, it is to fall asleep for the night,” Madhav says playing with a strand of my hair. He is twirling it on his finger lost in thought. I was surprised when my brother told me that I was going on a honeymoon to the Boiren Mountains. It is a famous tourist spot and trade centre. We caught a flight to come here. My brother was through with all the bookings. He had made reservations in a five-star hotel. “I don't feel sleepy,” I whine. I slept on the plane using Madhav's shoulder as a pillow. I had no idea about it until he woke me up as we were landing. Thank God! I didn't drool on him.“What do you want to do then?”“How about we go on a stroll?” I suggest. “You want to go on a stroll? At this time?” Madhav's voice is filled with scepticism.“Oh! Come on, don't be a spoilsport. It is only eleven in the night and I have you.”“Me?” he asks raising his eyebrow.“Aren't you a ruthless killer who can take lives in a nick of seconds? Why should I be worried when I have you?”A soft smile curves his lips, “When did you start to approve my professional choice?”“I still don't approve it but since you are already an assassin, I will make good use of it.”“Use me all you want,” Madhav replies getting up from the bed. My heart skips a beat and despite the chill in the air, I feel hot. I watch him grab his hoodie and pull it over his head. His hair gets messed up and I want to run my fingers in them. I am so busy staring at his hoodie wondering how it fits him perfectly that I don't realise he is doing the same until I drag my eyes up to his face. He is watching me staring at him with an appreciative grin. I look away feeling embarrassed.“Aren't you coming?” he asks.“Where?” I ask still thinking of how he looks good in that hoodie.“Didn't you want to go on a stroll?”“Oh! Yes, I did want that,” I say getting up from the soft bed. I quickly grab my hoodie and zip it up. Unlike Madhav’s hoodie, mine is a size larger. Picking up my phone, I follow Madhav out of the room. At one end of this city are the huge mountains and at the other end is the sea harbour for trade. It takes an hour between the seaport and the mountains. The mountains are a famous tourist spot compared to the sea harbour so, I was expecting a room somewhere near the mountains but Vikram had booked the room near the harbour. There is not much to see on this side unless you are into the Navy and ships. Unfortunately, I am not and I was a bit disappointed to be here but the hotel has a well-maintained garden and according to tourists, the food here is heaven. The night is silent as we both start our stroll. Crickets make sounds somewhere far away. The sky is clear with no stars. The moon is crescent-shaped and golden in colour. A gentle breeze blows carrying the smell of the ocean and salt. The only light in the dark night is that of the lighthouse that is beaming in the distance. Madhav is silent and so I am. The silence between us feels sacred and I don’t want to break that. We both are in our own heads strolling together. Surprisingly, I don’t find the silence between us awkward. It feels comfortable and I am not pressured to make conversations. The hotel grounds have a small exit at its back and both of us walk towards it. There is a security guard at the exit and he nods at us.“Where does this path lead to?” Madhav asks pointing to the path before us. “Oh, it connects to the Hytui Bay,” the security guard replies. Hytui Bay is a small beach that is located along the harbour. I didn’t expect that we would be very close to that beach. It only takes  ten-minute drive from the beach to reach the harbour. “But, visitors aren’t allowed to go in at this time, Sir.”Madhav flashes an innocent smile at that man, “Of course, we know that. We are just taking a walk.”The security guard nods his head and we continue our walking. I sigh, “I wish we could see the beach now. I wonder how if this beach would look as beautiful as the beach back at home.”“We are going to visit this beach now,” Madhav says.“How?” I ask frowning as we stand before a gate that is locked. The walls are pretty big surrounding the beach. Unlike other beaches this one is man made and has walls surrounding it to restrict the entry at night.Madhav's eyes gleam in mischievousness as he seizes up the wall. Holy Hell!“Don't tell me that you are planning to climb up the wall,” I tease him but he gives me a grin confirming it, “Madhav, don't be stupid. You can't climb up this.”“Have some faith in me. I am not an assassin for no reason,” he says.“Alright! Even if you do climb up, how I am supposed to do that?”“I will teach you how. We may never know when it will come in handy.”“Oh come on, I am not a schoolboy who would go late to school. That is the only situation I think this skill would come in handy.”Madhav lets out a sigh, “You are no fun, Sruthi.”“That is not going to make me agree to this.”Madhav lets out a sigh and closes the distance between us suddenly and I am caught off guard. His eyes are filled with determination, “Forget about rules and everything for one night. Do you want to be reckless and see the beach with me tonight?”❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
