Chapter 96
MOMMY SUPER COOL NOVEL
Chapter 96 The Unhappy South
Silas frowned unhappily. âDonât follow me around. I have business to tend to.â Then, he told Landon, âYou coming or not, Landon?â
âOf course I am,â Landon replied. He told Old Man Nolan that he would come another time and left the house behind them.
Silence was their companion in the car until Gianna whispered to her son, who appeared to be unhappy, âWhat happened to you?â
Silas listened intently. If he was right, South didnât talk to him that much earlier.
South was playing with his phone. âNothing,â he said. âAre you upset?â Gianna was curious.
âNo.â South took a deep breath. Then, Silas interjected in an attempt to make conversation, âWhatâs the story you told Great-grandpa today, South?â .
âNothing.â South answered indifferently.
Now even Landon could see he was upset. What happened? Heâs fine in the afternoon, well, aside from him getting quiet after Zoe came.
Gianna tried to cheer him up. âWe moved to a new place. Itâs just a hop, skip, and jump away from Landonâs house. Do you like it?â That grabbed his attention, since he was a kid after all. âWhy are we moving?â Gianna replied calmly, âSo you can play the latest games Landon develops.â âRight. Itâs just because you want him to take care of me at all times.â He pouted. âShh. Keep this between us. We donât want him to hear that.â Landon looked annoyed. âAt least whisper when you talk about secrets.
Everyone and their mother could hear you.â South raised his chin. âWatch your tongue.â
âIâm just telling the truth,â Landon retorted.
âMommy, Landon took me along and played until three in the morning. I kept telling him I want to sleep, but he kept saying âlast gameâ every time.â South even looked at Landon provocatively. âLandon!â
Gianna was going to hit him. âCan you be more responsible? I thought I told you no all-nighters!â âNo, we didnât!â Landon dodged her hit and pointed at South. âHey, we promised to keep this a secret.â
South grinned at him. âIâm just telling the truth.â
Pointing at him angrily, Landon declared, âYou little snitch! No more new games for you!â South crossed his arms and snorted. âDonât come to me if you run into any technical problems then.â That made Gianna feel amused. âFriendships end so easily.â Silas looked at them through the rear-view mirror and felt that South was sulking. There was no reason for him to ignore Silas, and even when Silas tried to start a conversation, South wasnât too enthused. After getting the groceries and coming back to Muse Peninsula, they bumped into Kate, who had just arrived via taxi. Landon looked at her and mocked, âAnd what brings you here?â She rolled her eyes. âNot for you, thatâs for sure. Piss off.â âThis is my turf!â âNo! This is Giannaâs turf!â Landon was about to retort further, so she pointed at him. âYou arenât going to say no, are you?â Then, Silas disembarked, and Kate panicked. I knew someone important was here. No wonder Gianna called me over. She changed into her polite mode instantly and greeted, âHello, Mr. Nolan.â âHello.â Silas nodded.
After some small talk, they went into house Number 5901 of Block No. 3. When they entered, what greeted them was a huge French window. The sun was setting now, and the light that sprinkled the house felt warm.
