Chapter 1392
Theo walked up to Thaddeus calmly, exuding a powerful aura. His face was serious, yet he managed
to maintain a humble and polite demeanor.
âMr. Thaddeus, I'm Theo. Your daughter and I are just friends, so your previous way of addressing
me was incorrect. Please, just call me Theo.â
Thaddeus smirked with a hint of annoyance. âIncorrect? You and my daughter are already legally
married. If you're not my son-in-law, then who is?"
âSophia and I got the marriage certificate only to convince my father to accept surgery. This was a
mutual agreement between your daughter and me. The agreement clearly states that the marriage
certificate is only to appease the older folks at home, nothing more. Once all is done, we'll choose a
date to annul the
certificate.â
As Theo finished speaking, he gave a slight nod.
Then Collin stepped forward and handed the agreement to Thaddeus.
Thaddeus glanced at the agreement. His face was stern, and he did not take it.
Theo continued, âIf you have any displeasure with this agreement, feel free to voice your conditions.
As long as it's reasonable, I'll do my best to meet them, and I'm willing to compensate Sophia as
much as possible.â
Collin offered the agreement to Thaddeus again. âMr. Thaddeus, please take a look at this
agreement.â
Thaddeus didn't look. He swatted the agreement away and scoffed, âYou think my daughter needs
your compensation?!â
Theo's expression didn't waver at Thaddeus's reaction. He calmly asked, âSo, Mr. Thaddeus, what are
your thoughts? Don't hold back.â
Thaddeus swung his wrist menacingly and sneered. âMy daughter lacks for nothing; what can you
do to compensate her?
Sophia is my treasure, whom you tricked into getting a marriage certificate, and now you want to
casually abandon her? What do you think my daughter is? A commodity to take when you want and
discard when you don't?
I am telling you now. You must take responsibility for my daughter!â
Theo corrected him calmly. âI've never deceived Sophia. She fully knows the reason and purpose for
the certificate, and she volunteered to help. I appreciate Sophiaâs assistance then and am willing to
compensate her as much as possible, but regretfully, I can't take responsibility for her. Uhave a
family and a child on the way. My wife and child are who I truly need to be responsible for.â
Thaddeus raised an eyebrow and said sarcastically, âYou're responsible for this girl named Ellinor,
while my daughter, a girl in the prime of her life, is left a divorced
woman.
You've caused such immense psychological and reputational harm to my daughter. Do you think I'd
allow you and this Ellinor to live happily ever after?â
Seeing the malicious intent in Thaddeus's eyes as he mentioned Ellinor, Theo stared back at him
intensively and said, âMr. Thaddeus, you may not know this, but before I asked Sophia to get the
certificate, I had made ample preparations, allowing myself enough time to terminate our marriage
directly.
So, my purpose in approaching Sophia this time is to dissolve the marriage, not a divorce.
Dissolving a marriage and divorce are different. After the dissolution, there will be no trace left in
Sophia's record and no substantial relationship between us whatsoever, everything will be clear.
Even so, I'm still willing to do my best to thank her because she helped me.â
Thaddeus sneered. âYou sure make it sound easy.
