Chapter 2717
After wrapping up another round of interviews, she would be ready to casually drop the news of
their relationship to anyone who'd listen.
It was high time those other women realized that Nolan had someone of his own. They needed to
measure up if they thought they could get close to him!!
âDid you pick up those pastries I asked for?â asked Dahlia.
Sienna handed her a basket adorned with care âGot them first thing-beat the sunrise to stand in
line. Lucky I did, too; by the time the shop opened, they practically flew off the shelves!â
Dahlia smiled faintly as she peered into the basket at the delicate treats. âHe's got a sweet. tooth,
which doesnât quite match his tough exterior, does it?"
âNot at all.â
As they reached the entrance to the Harris Group's building, they opted for the anonymity of the
underground passage to avoid prying eyes.
In the dimly lit parking garage, as Dahlia strode toward the elevator, she envisioned the day she'd
walk through the Harris-Group's front doors in broad daylight, confidently making her way to the
CEO's office.
She found Nolan immersed in work, not even glancing up.
a wave you forgotten
âLucy, who let you the basics of etiquette? Not even a knock at th door?â He stopped mid-sentence,
surprised to see Dahliaâs smiling face. âWhat brings you here? Weren't you tied up with interviews?â
âInterviewâs done. Came to see you,â she said, extending the basket of pastries.
Nolan took it with a resigned chuckle, âI'm not a kid anymore. Why do you keep bringing me
these?â
âJust because you're not a kid doesnât mean you can't enjoy a sweet treat. Where did you get that
stereotype? Scientists say a little sugar helps keep the mood up all day. I'm thinking of you! Look at
you, all grumpy. If Lucy had walked in, would you have given her an earful?â
He unwrapped a pastry and took a bite, replying, âIf Lucy dared to enter my office without knocking,
she'd be out the Harris Group's door the next second.â
Wasn't that Nolan's way of saying Dahlia was special? Her cheeks flushed with a shy smile.
"Alright, you've been working hard, but donât get too worked up. You're already doing great. Time
to take care of yourself a bit more.â

Dahlia pushed him gently onto the couch, then stood by his side, hands poised on his shoulders,
ready to massage.
Nolan tensed for a moment but then stood up abruptly to face her. âDonât you have other work
today, Dahlia?â
I
âI'm done with all my work for today, so I thought I'd come to keep you company. Don't you want
me here?â
Nolan finally sighed in resignation. âThen rest here while I get back to my documents.â
But before he could walk away, Dahlia dashed forward, wrapping her arms around him from
behind.
âDon't be like this to me! I can't stand your coldness. Can't we go back to how things used to be?â
Nolan stood silent, one hand holding a pastry, the other clenched into a fist and said, âYou know
that was the past. Isn't it better the way things are now?â
A pang of pain flashed through Nolan's heart, uncertain of what to do with this woman. who held
