Chapter 2768
Feeling sorry now that he knew she was going to sue him, huh?
What a joke.
Regina knew that if Ahab had not lost his uncle's support, he would only continue to torment
others. Her resolve strengthened as she thought of the interns before her, each one weathering the
same storm she had endured.
"You're only playing the pity card because I threatened to take you to court. Did you feel even an
ounce of remorse when you were bullying us rookies? You seemed to be having the time of your
life, snatching our stories, grabbing our finished pieces, reaping where you didnât sow.â
The boss sighed, signaling for Regina to stop elaborating. The last thing he needed was for this
scandal to spill over into other departments, possibly tarnishing the reputation of the entertainment
section.
But her colleagues, some of them transferred from New Blossom Press, who had suffered the same
fate at Ahab's hands, crowded around, backing Regina up. âYeah, you were pretty smug when you
were stealing our work. Who are you putting on this sad show for now?â
ust turn on him
The boss knew better than to add fuel to the fire. If he did, they might just next. Better to play it
cool.
âI know I messed up, okay? I'm sorry! I'm getting the ax, aren't I? I won't be able to do it again, so
please, just forgive me this one time, Ahab pleaded, his eyes rimmed with red. It was hard to believe
this was the same man who had strutted around like he owned the place just a quarter of an hour
ago.
âSorry, but I'm one to settle scores,â Regina shot back. âI never learned how to turn the other
cheek.â
Ahab continued to beg, but Regina knew that justice had to be served-not just for her b for all the
newbies who had suffered as she had.
"Cry all you want. Maybe you can even get the whole office to cry with you, let them see the kind of
âgood deedsâ you've done, Ahab. I have nothing to hide, so this won't hurt me one bit. But what
about you? After you're booted out of New Blossom Press, and your uncle can't help you anymore,
what will you do? Become a paparazzo?â
Regina's stern face sent shivers down the spines of her onlookers as she leaned in close to Ahab and
tapped his face. She knew the office gossip might turn against her for being so relentless, but after
everything she had been through, Ahab deserved what was coming to him.
Finally, the boss stepped in to stop Ahabâs blubbering. âEnough already. What are you

doing, crying on the floor like a child? You've got hands and feet; you can find a way to make a
living without journalism. Or is it that you can't survive without your uncle's help? And besides, if
you had thought about the consequences before, you wouldn't be in this mess, would you? You
didn't seem too worried about the fallout when you were framing your colleagues.â
The other colleagues remained silent, and so did Regina.
Ahab had no choice but to get up and glance one last time at his desk. He didn't want to clean it
out, knowing that if he left it as is, these same colleagues would probably toss his belongings out
like trash.
He still held onto a sliver of hope that his uncle might pull some strings and get him reinstated after
the dust settled. However, the boss stood by, watching as Ahab cleared
out his space, signaling that a new face would soon take his place.
