Chapter 75

Raijin POV.

As we walked across the hallway, Multiple students were staring at me, more specifically my clothes that didn't have sleeves anymore. But I ignored it all, just growling under my teeth as I tried to make sense of where she was.

Under extreme stress that made her build up that much ice… What the hell happened?

"Ho-how should we find her now? After all, we already looked everywhere but we didn't get a lead…" Yasachu asked the group, asking a question as she looked down.

"Perhaps we could ask the president to broadcast that Nika wasn't anywhere to be seen… That's really the only approach I thought of." Shukona answered, while I simply nodded.

"Yeah, I guess that's true, if we can't do it we could just ask other people. I'm sure Prez would get worried as well." I nodded in agreement, still having my hands in my pockets.

"Isn't that the president?" Emica pointed out, looking over at the familiar blue haired girl.

"Yo! Prez! It's rare for you to be outside the council room without any supplies, what's up?" I greeted her, a smile was on my face. Though it wasn't my usual cheerful smile, rather a more irritated one. Smoke was trailing out from my pockets.

"There was a problem with the clock tower, it didn't ring when it was the end of club activities, so I wanted to go check it out. And are you okay?" Shoubu chuckled nervously, glancing over at the smoke.

"U-uhm… Actually, Shiromoru-sama disappeared and we wanted to ask you to announce to everyone that she was gone… But it seems you have another problem too-" Yasachu scratched the back of her neck.

"Ah." Emica blinked, thinking of something.

"Hm? Emi? Did you get an idea?" Shukona asked her, and I turned towards her as well.

"I was thinking about what if she was actually up the tower? After all, Shu arrived in the room right after the club's ending, and it didn't ring. Which would fit in the timeline since that would mean Yasachu and I would have been outside for about an hour then, so she had a lot of time to get out… She would probably want to be somewhere where she knows no one would come, that excludes the garden, the library, any other public space really… So the tower would be a good place. And also her creating ice from her hand would probably freeze the automatic magic system that is on the towe-" Before she was even finished, I twisted my body to turn the other way and shut her up by placing my hand on top of her mouth in the process.

"Ya don't have to continue, let's just get on with it already." I grumbled, being impatient I just walked towards the way where the clock tower was, then slowly gained speed to run over there. Everyone freaked out when they saw me doing that, and followed me as well.

When I arrived, I panted softly as I saw teachers surrounding the tower. A familiar feminine boy was there, and I immediately ran towards him.

"Umi! What happened?" I asked my roommate, which he turned towards me.

"Ah, the automatic bell isn't working and the teachers are trying to see what's happening. They just arrived and were going up the tower. I also wanted to see what was happening, but I don't think they'll allow students." Umi chuckled for a bit, turning his head towards the tower.

"They… Don't allow students…?" I grumbled, staring over at the entrance as the teachers went in.

"A-ah… Shukona-sama, it's nice to see you here." He bowed down to Shukona for a moment, having a slight blush as he smiled towards her.

"I didn't expect it as well, but it's pleasant to see that you're doing well." Shukona responded with a bow as well.

"And… Emica." His love struck face frowned as he saw the maid beside her.

"Greetings Sakuraso-sama." Emica simply kept her passive aggressive smile towards him.

Yasachu stared at the Umi and Emica staring at each other, they looked overall normal but the aura around them felt like it had sparks due to their rivalry. She chuckled for a bit, ah, of course, Shukona is obviously popular with both genders.

"Isn't Nika scared of heights?" I asked Emica, remembering when she was freaking out back then when I was on top of a tree with her.

"She was, when we were children, She actually likes reading on top of trees because of the shade since it gave a cool temperature." Emica quickly replied, then Shukona flinched.

"Sh-she does? Nika climbs trees? Where did she even learn that? An elegant lady shouldn't do such things…" Shukona looked surprised to hear something like that.

"Ahaha… She usually hides those types of things from you, since you know, you react like that." Emica chuckled for a bit.

I tried to find a way to enter the tower so I approached Shoubu, who was now talking with a teacher.

"Hey! Sorry for interrupting, but can I go up there? I just wanna check something." I asked them, then the teacher shook his head.

"No can do, there is a trace of magic up there, slowly building either ice or earth. We need to check who it is first or if it was a channeled item. We can't get you in danger." The teacher rejected what I said, and being rejected, I was filled with anger.

I had actual proof that Nika was there, and now I do know that she was up there, stressing the fuck out. Damn it! If the teachers get up there and see her, she can get punished and they see her panicking…

I stared down at the ground as I clenched my fists to the point of my nails hurting my flesh and making it bleed.

If they won't let me up there, then I'll just force my way!

Shukona POV

"I know a lot of things that you both don't know. Raijin-sama hasn't been with her for years, and she usually hides some things with you due to your strict nature. Ah, no offense of course. I may not have a noble status, or am I good with magic, I'm… Not as important as any of you are, however, I am her maid, and I understand her more than anyone." Emica smiled over at me, seeing her small face brightening up, I felt warmness inside me and patted her on the head.

Her professional smile twitched in surprise, glancing over at me with a more embarrassed smile. But then quickly changed back to a bright grin, before turning to Umi and gave a mischievous giggle.

Umi's flinched, taken aback by Emica's snickering and glaring over at her. Umi has always been irritated by this maid, perhaps it is because Emica is too close to me? Hmmm, right, he is supposed to be my fiance. Not that I care. Emica is simply a close friend of mine.

"I haven't seen you being prideful for a while, good on you. That is correct, you should be proud of your current position. Understanding Nika is a very tough job." I chuckled, smiling gently towards the smaller maid as I leaned in.

"It seems that I don't have to punish you like when we were kids. Good job on turning confident, Emica Hayami." I whispered in her ear, teasing her.

She backed away and covered her ear. Her maid self being shattered as her face turned extremely red as her hazel eyes shot wide open.

Ahaha, that's a face I haven't seen in a while.

Seeing this, I gave a small giggle. That was an inside joke when we were kids, those days of playing were fun.

"I-I never knew Amatarini-sama had a side like this! I didn't hear what you said, but I feel like it was something lewd! I'm learning new things everyday!" Yasachu exclaimed, her eyes brightening up as she glanced over at me and Emica.

"I'm her fiance yet… Why doesn't she do those things to me…?" Umi sighed for a bit, feeling slightly frustrated. I was always like that though.

"Silence commoner! I-I do not say lewd things! I simply told her a joke when we were kids!" I rebutted Yasachu's claim, folding my hands as I pouted and looked away.

"Ehhhhh?? Emica-san's face says otherwise!" Yasachu giggled. Being with me for the past month doesn't scare her much anymore, even though I am irritated by the fact that she argues with me, I'm still happy to make her comfortable to joke with me. I don't care though, she's just a commoner anyway.

When she said that I noticed something from afar when I looked away from them.

Raijin running straight towards the tower, the teachers frantically trying to stop Rai but then…

Rai lept.

Stomping on a teacher's face as their cape gleamed with the sun's bright light, Raijin jumped from the teacher's head and casted.

"!" Raijin yelled out, fire coming out of their palms to propel them, Rai skyrocketed towards the top of the tower.

"Gakerumi Raijin!! What are you doing?! Get down there!" I yelled out, running towards Raijin's position and lifting up my hand, opening my mouth to try and cast something… But words didn't come out. I simply put down my hand and gave a sigh.

"That idiot…" I mumbled, looking down at the ground as I heard the three running after me.

I know Raijin is scared, nervous, and angry about this current situation. Those two always do the stupidest things, they always strive forward.

I can't keep trying to grab on to them to hold them back.

The two are geniuses.

But they're careless geniuses.

"Wh-what happened? O-oh my gosh, Sensei! Are you okay?!" Yasachu yelled out, running towards the teacher that just got hit on the face. Umi followed as well.

"Ahh… Rai is… A bit reckless. Always pushing forward without thinking about the consequences." Emica gave a small sigh looking up at me.

"Always leaving me to take care of these things…" I sighed, now walking over towards the teacher that got hurt.

"Are you going to fix it for them again? Nika has tough walls, so she speaks bluntly. Rai is too passionate, and it usually makes them blind. You're always the one who takes care of their messes, at least give them responsibility for once." Emica followed me up from behind, hearing her say things like that, I froze.

"That's the least I can do for them." I shook off that bitter feeling in my tongue and continued to walk.

"Shu, you really are too stubborn. Can I at least help you?"

"You've always done that."

"Ahaha, I guess we're both too stubborn to keep doing it our way, huh?" Emica chuckled, leaning on my shoulder as she took my hand when we were walking.

"I know you're worried about them, don't worry, those two idiots will work it out, they somehow always do." She chuckled in a teasing way.

"I-I am not at all! I already know they are capable of doing so! I'm… Not worried at all." I know that was a lie, but I can't help but keep my pride on the outside. I'm worried sick about them, especially with Nikami.

"Uhh huuhhh~ For sure, Shukona A-mama-tarini." She teased once more, and when we arrived there, she let go of my hand and looked down.

The teacher seemed to have a broken nose, Yasachu tried to stop the bleeding via a handkerchief she had and Umi didn't know what to do when seeing the blood.

"Emica, get a first aid kit for me." I ordered her, glancing over towards her as she had her business face back on.

"Of course, Shukona-sama." She bowed down before walking away.

I continued to stare at her as she ran in a direction.

Why does she always accompany me, when she isn't mine?
