Chapter 92

Third Person POV

"I-I am so sorry! I-I tried my best to come back with everyone, but Ajisa-sama had been caught!" She yelled out, walking towards The knight and Princess and landed on her shaking knees. Saboten was quick to grab Nikami before she fell to the floor as well, holding her up despite her arm feeling numb and tingly.

The princess nodded and patted over the weeping small girl groveling to be forgiven.

A gentle smile and kind gesture is simply a mask to observe her further. In all honesty, she doesn't believe Ajisa is dead. That girl is tougher than she looks, she has all of that heavy pride carried on that durable carriage called her magic. There is no logical reason that Ajisa would die yet everyone else is safe, not to mention Yasachu and Nikami do not have injuries similar to Raijin.

Shoubu concluded that she was lying.

Another screaming one was added, the naive knight that believed the words of the commoner. She knelt down, gripping Nikami's body as she mumbled words that were too fast for anyone to understand.

The door was opened, the slouched mage hearing what she yelled out from the other side. She panted, narrowing her eyes at the prostrating commoner. She pushed up her glasses, speaking very low she made a command,

"Saboten, go behind me." Her intonation was hard and blunt, no hesitation could be seen from her determined glare.

"What's wrong?" Shoubu asked, clearly knowing something is wrong if Kikyou out of all people is not holding anything back. She gave a slight scoff, taking a step back and folding her hands beside Kikyou.

She followed her sister's orders, standing up and walking behind her. Wanting to ask the reason why, she opened her mouth and before she could let out a whisper-

"She's cursed. Please stay away from her, she's dangerous." Kikyou snapped, pushing the knight slowly behind her further.

"Hmm? Just now or?" Shoubu was intrigued, raising an eyebrow while observing her. With all of her knowledge, she thought that all light users couldn't be cursed. As darkness cannot exist in a vessel of brightness itself.

"I noticed it from the start, the moment I met her it was there. But it was so dormant I couldn't tell if it was just strange mana flow or she had actually had something wrong with her. Th-that's why it's dangerous, if it has affected her for this long and not to mention it actually has a physical manifestation around her head..." She bit her lip, hesitating. "I-I... Don't think we can have the same Yasachu we knew of..."

"Ara? Is that so..." Shoubu just nodded in understanding, turning her head to the side and seeing the erratic eyed Saboten that hasn't said anything in a while. She gestured towards the door, smiling calmly to tell her they can deal with this. And with that, the knight dashed inside the room and they both paid attention to the raising Yasachu.

"And what kind of curse does she have?" Shoubu asked.

"Give me back my Nikami." Yasachu grimaced, having her bright yellow irises turn dead, twitching.

"I-I don't know, but the way she's acting... I-I think her motives are clear..." Kikyou gulped, cuffing her sleeves and straightening her back.

"Hmm? Obsession? Possessiveness? What do you see exactly? I'm not as mana sensitive as you, Kikyou-sama, you'd have to explain what it is to this blind princess." Shoubu chuckled, tightening her low ponytail and making it higher, widening her smile into a grin.

"Pl-please don't say that... I-I see a shadow arm around her head, right above... The fingers a-all covering her face. Sh-she's already corrupted..." Kikyou adjusted her glasses, mumbling.

"So can I beat her? She isn't that kind little girl we know of, correct?" Her grin grew wider, trembling with excitement, some of her cobalt locks fell to the side.

"N-not now please!" Kikyou yelled out, rushing to turn to the princess.

"Give me back what's rightfully mine! Don't take her away from me, not ever, not again! I won't let you have her!" Yasachu reeled in her hand and made a blade.

"Ahahaha! Come on! As if you're even allowed to breathe in her direction! You've gained too much hubris, I'll remind you who you really are, peasant!" Shoubu rose her fists, her eyes growing erratic, taking a plunge with a demented smile.

"!" Yasachu raised her sword, turning the blade into a whip and glaring down at Shoubu. She lowered her stance, making sure she was connected to the ground and whipped the sword with full force. Shoubu cackled, stepped to the side while pushing her body forward once again, the light made a crack in the concrete floor.

"That sure was strong~" Shoubu let out a small drool, the energy surged through the princess. And that glare from Yasachu just exploded the dam of kept emotions inside her. How wonderful! Yasachu took a step back, gritting her teeth as she reeled back in the whip sword, seeing the noble princess was only a few steps ahead of her.

"Pr-princess please calm down!" Kikyou had her legs weaken as the crack of the whip filled her ears, shaking and backing up to the wall.

"Mhm- " Shoubu's eye twitched, scoffed and stopped her frontal attack. She lifted her hand, a droplet of water in her palm, throwing towards the commoner while flicking her finger to catch the whip that was coming for her back with water in midair.

Yasachu made a shield for the tiny piece of water flying towards her, as it hit the surface of her magic, with a blink the whole shield was covered by a large amount of water being splashed on her. Flinching and taking rapid steps back, The water headed straight towards her and covered her body in succession. Tightening around her like rubber, Shoubu saw her surprise and openness to make ice on her hand and form it into an ice blade. A dark expression emerged from her face.

A flutter of a coat could be heard, a tight grip on Shoubu's raised arm, holding it back. Shoubu paused, trying to get her arm back but she wouldn't budge.

"Plea-please don't hurt her." Kikyou whimpered in the princess's ears, landing her forehead on her shoulders with her back slouched. She pointed her palm over at Yasachu and created metal plates around Yasachu's arms and feet, further trapping her.

"But...!" Shoubu whipped her head, the smaller girl falling on the ground without proper balance.

"I-I understand how you feel, but in the end Yasachu is just being influenced! Sh-she isn't like this, sh-she's a nice girl..." Kikyou backed away, bowing her head as an apology and glanced over at the growling Yasachu at the same time.

"I-I'll let you knock her out." Kikyou closed her eyes, rubbing the bridge of her nose while pushing up her glasses.

"!" Solidified light formed behind Yasachu, forming into spears and all pointing towards Kikyou. While still having her eyes closed, she made a barrage of air slices towards the light and shattered into pieces, not landing a single hit on Yasachu despite that.

"P-please do it quickly..." Kikyou turned towards Shoubu with teary eyes, shaking at the thought that her Kouhai just tried to hit her. Especially the girl who was always so kind around people! Kikyou started to walk towards the entrance of the infirmary, biting her lip while thinking about how exactly did Yasachu get cursed?

"Fine..." Shoubu nodded, replacing her frown with her usual soft smile, crouching down and facing Yasachu squirming on the ground.

"You better thank her when you get better." Shoubu smiled, shoving her hand on top of Yasachu's mouth, releasing water and suffocating the shorter woman. Yasachu retaliated due to the lack of oxygen and moving around, wailing. The shackles on her wrists and ankle were tinted with a crimson red, barely keeping her consciousness.

Yasachu started to flicker, sharp light ejecting out of her back and tried to pierce the princess in front of her. The smiling Shoubu grabbed them with her water covered palm, using her other hand to put her in a choke hold and smashed her against the wall.

Yasachu's hazy vision was filled with the color of cobalt, glowing cerulean eyes with a bright sadistic grin. A sound of shattering glass was the first thing she heard, before the fragments of her magic fell in front of her. Finally the water in her mouth and nose caught up and her body fell limp, being let go.

The beat of the footsteps of the mage got closer to the room, swinging it open while bleeding from her nails.

She bit further, focusing on what type of magic could have been in the works, or how someone could do such a thing, something so specific as obsessiveness. While being deep in thought, the thinking trance she was in got interrupted by a chair falling down, someone flinging to her front and holding her shoulder.

As she straightened her back in attention, a pattern of black spots with yellow on rounded furry ears made her realize who it was. She got hugged by her sister.

Kikyou had her mouth open, but no words could come out. A whine was itching from the back of her throat, gulping it all down in fear. Soft sobs were coming from her chest, looking down at the girl with the same hair color as hers. The mage was too stunned to speak.

"I-I deeply apologize! You aren't hurt are you?! I-I... I wouldn't know what to do if you were..." Saboten took a step back and bowed down, lifting her head up to reveal the flowing tears prominent on her face.

Kikyou had to take a moment to assess what was happening before she responded, not sure how to act when the sister she thought that hated her was here... Crying, because she was distressed at the thought of her getting hurt. The mage was uncomfortable... But was it somehow in a good way?

"I-I'm fine! I am..." The mage didn't get the chance to finish her sentence when the knight was back into her arms, giving her a bear hug despite having a shorter figure.

Shukona was sitting next to the resting prince, holding Raijin's hand tightly close to her face, being bent over the bed. Her legs were shaking, throat stinging, and eyes erratic. Shukona didn't understand what happened, but the fact that she was even thinking that Raijin died horrified her. Yes, she was worried about Raijins well-being, but it was clear the prince wouldn't die...

How was she convinced that Raijin had already stopped breathing?

That's the first time I've ever seen someone escape without losing their grip on reality.

Shukona was reminded of Yuutsu's words.

Third Person POV: Actor AU!

“And cut! Good job today everyone!” The director, the headmaster's actor exclaimed with a smile. Everyone’s shoulders lowered, stopping the intense scene.

“Here’s water, they’re ordering pizza, what flavor do you want?” Nikami approached Emica, handing her a bottle of water while the other female smiled and giggled slowly.

“Hawaaaaiiiaann…” She smiled, clinging herself to the female and grinned.

Mari Ayashi and Nami Ayashi, both twin actors.

Mari Ayashi’s first major role as Nikami Shiromoru has been met with significant boost of ratings, often being teased by her peers of being way too into her role that she adapts parts of her character. She is viewed as the bigger sister in most of the groups she is in, especially after she got Nikami’s role.

Nami Ayashi is an actor with multiple awards, playing three roles in FutsuYuri. Namely Emica Hayami, Shiromoru Nikami (The "real" one) and Hameru Matasoto. She was the one who suggested her sister play the lead, despite her listless and usually careless nature she is praised by her ability to change the pitch and tone of voice in a drop of a hat.

“Shame on you.” Mari stared down at her, while the other girl just chuckled and started to pinch her cheeks. “Whyy?” The younger twin asked, smiling upwards.

“Pineapple on pizza.” Mari rolled her eyes, turning towards a woman in prince clothing. “You heard her.”

“Got it boss!~” Raijin gave a wink, talking to one of their managers about the pizza.

Najimi Toshiko, playing as Raijin Gakerumi. Her playful and flirty nature has gotten her in a lot of trouble, such as making lewd faces in the background to make her fellow actors laugh. Despite her pranks, her existence had been a great boost of morale. She’s currently in love with Nikami’s actor, Mari. And has said many times in interviews, I’m going to take down the evil queen and take her for myself! But, it isn’t known if it's a publicity stunt or it's her actual feelings.

“Put back your chocolates, you are not putting them in the pizza again.” A black haired woman scolded a tall female, huffing while she put back the bar of chocolates in her bag.

“I wanted energy.”

“Coffee exists for a reason!”

“Too bitter!”

The two girls yelling at each other are Yuutsu and Shukona’s actors.

Kairu Yamashi, playing as Yuutsu Kurogane is popular for her maniac laughs have been casted in many films where she was the main villainess. She’s the most normal one out of the cast, other than taking care of Iroma, which is in the same agency as her.

Iroma Aroshiko, playing as Shukona Amatarini, a foodie that is characterized by her love for desserts and often making food that have been considered as atrocities. Having such a big stature, she needs a lot of energy to go through the day but doesn’t like anything remotely bitter so she settles with desserts and snacks instead.

They were rivals from the start, often fighting for villain roles in movies.

“Alright, Alright, that’s enough. You two.” A blue haired woman stood in front of them and chuckled lightly, used to the two fighting.

Coming from the same agency as Kairu and Iroma was Pai Murasaki, playing as Shoubu Rabadena. Pai used to be a female boxer before coming into the acting business, but she is also well known as making J-pop music with her calm and soothing voice. It’s her first time playing a character that is considered dangerous, so she often asks Kairu and Iroma for advice and they fight on who’s right when doing so.

“I can’t believe I fucking died though, bitch just really fainted like a college student.” The mage stood up and let down her ponytail, yawning while glancing over at the knight by her side. “Language, this is a workplace.”

Suki Kaheru; Playing Kikyou Kinmokusei, got shut down by her older sister, Riri Kaheru, playing Saboten Kinmokusei. Despite their height difference, Suki is actually 4 years younger than her older sister Riri, much to the older sisters dismay.

Suki Kaheru is often bashed for her use of profanity, which Riri deals with daily. Despite that, she is popular for her ASMR videos on youtube and her fluency in many languages. Her favorite is the squeaky and high pitched tone she uses for Kikyou’s voice as it makes her seem harmless.

Riri Kaheru is the oldest of the cast, having the most experience when it comes to acting and has been over the rough way her sister speaks, trying to stop it as much as she could. Winning a grammy for best actor, she does her own action stunts and can summon tears at will, she’s considered the tough senpai for everyone.

A purple haired woman went outside the studio, holding a pack of cigarettes to smoke. Akai Higanbana, playing as Keshi Bijozakura. The second oldest of the cast, she usually doesn’t like to talk to her cast members and only speaks in interviews. Not much is known about her personal life other than she’s already married.

“It was so scary being pointed by a sword! It looked so real!” A short white haired girl flung herself to another short girl, the blondie giggled and kissed her on the cheeks. “At least you weren’t pinned down to the ground!”

Both of these girls are, not surprisingly, the youngest cast members. Young lovers in the acting industry, the two have been in multiple romance movies and series as a couple.

Ari Raichi, playing Yasachu Kowamekuna is beloved by her constant roles as an obsessive lover archetype. Being able to maintain a pure persona while also being intimidating with her height is a tough job, it’s a joke in her fanbase where she’s a murderer having so much information about human bodies. It’s due to her being an Forensic expert before taking a leap into the acting world.

Her lover, Kurin Tensai, playing as Ajisa Shirayuri is a lolita fashionista even with the roles she takes. Being a voice actor, most of her fans are anime Otaku’s similar to her. Despite an enchanting loli voice, gruff and heavy metal are the roles she prefers the most. This is the first time she didn’t become the love interest of her girlfriend and she was admittedly upset by this, but she obviously saw this as just business.

"Can I laaaaaaaaay down on your lap?" Nami glanced up at her sister, grinning from ear to ear.

"What are you, a child? Seriously, there's a couch for a reason." Mari just simply rolled her eyes

"You can lay on my ass cheeks anytime Mari-rin~" Najimi teased Mari, tugging on her shirt and winked.

"Not interested, maybe later." Mari blurted out, patting the snoozing Nami.

"E-eh... Uh...-" Najimi didn't expect that, so she malfunctioned and turned red.

"No! No nono stop placing marshmallows on the pizza IROMA STOP IT-" Kairu tried to hold back Iroma's arms, but was too small to do so.

"Shut it! I do whatever I want with my food!" In the end, Iroma already placed bunny shaped marshmallows on the pepperoni pizza.

"Ahaha, where did you even get that? To be completely honest, I've tried that, and it isn't as bad as it looks." Pai simply just laughed at the two, taking pictures of them.

"No, NO! We are NOT going to have this argument again!"

"Take off my coat please." Suki asked, just standing there.

"Take it off yourself, I'm the one with the armor here." With a few clunks, Riri finally took off the belt that held the sword and scabbard.

"Onee-chama~" Using Kikyou's soft voice, Riri imagined a glassy eyed Suki and paused for a moment, before shaking her head.

"Begging will not do anything! Stop it!" Turning red from embarrassment, she stormed off from her bewitching little sister.

"Do you want me to pin you to the ground as well?~" Ari winked at her lover, still clinging to her.

"Ohoho~ Is that a challenge honey?"

Baby it's cold Outside (Nikami x Raijin)

Sometime placed in the distant future, Nikami and Raijin got awakened by one of their servants.

"I have to go." Nikami got out of their bed, walking over to the wall and grabbing a coat. The breeze from the open window made her shudder, yet she took action anyway.

"But, baby, it's cold outside." Raijin hopped out of the bed as well, running her hands through her long shriveled hair to the side and stopped Nikami from going out the door via a hug from behind.

"I don't see that as a problem, please get off." Nikami insisted, glancing back at her puppy eyed wife. She sighed, rubbing her head against Raijin's face and kissed her cheek.

"I have to go to work, dear."

"In the middle of the night?! Come on, just let them deal with it instead. Let's continue to cuddle~ You have way too much work!" Raijin continued to pout and wouldn't let go, Nikami gripped her coat tightly and furrowed her eyebrows.

"And who's fault do you think that is?"

"Yours!"

Silence befell the two, Nikami thinking of a way to retort Raijin's words but seeing how she was actually correct, she shut her mouth.

"You hoard all of the paperwork."

"Yes, that I do." Nikami gave up, eyes twitching while Raijin's hug became more relaxed, using her fire magic to warm both of them.

"So you'll go back to sleep?" Raijin laid her head on her shoulder, Nikami nodding.

"Yes, let me just notify the servant first."

"I love you…" Raijin's warmth started to fade away, hug untightened while a soft snore came to Nikami's ears.

"Mhm." Nikami carefully took Raijin's head while she twisted her own body, facing the sleeping queen with a soft smile.

"Idiot." Nikami sighed, staring at the sleeping expression of her wife, deeply entranced by how much she has changed through the years.

"I love you too."
