Chapter 25: Chapter 25:

I pick up a bottle of Balkan 176 vodka from the fridge and Jake looks at me wide eyed.

I chuckle slightly.

"You are not drinking that Missy" he says and snatches it from my hands.

"But......" I trail off with a pout.

"Its too strong for you! It contains 88% alcohol Nikki" he explains and places it back.

He brings out two chilled bottles of 7 up. I frown on seeing them and he smiles handing me one with a straw.

I roll my eyes and take it. Then the two of us walk out of the kitchen into the hall bumping into people.

"I talked to my father a few days ago" Jake says and I look at him wide eyed.

"Don't look at me like that! You should have expected it because you reported me" he says and I giggle.

"How'd it go?" I ask.

"He told me a lot of things and I understand things now" he says and am happy.

"That's great! Am glad he cleared your doubts! So are you two officially father and son now? No more cat and dog?" I ask him.

"Yeah kinda! But I guess I would have to meet my step mother soon and step brothers" he says with a small chuckle.

"I would like to meet them too" I suggest.

"Sure! You can go with me if you want but its not now actually! Maybe later" he states and I shrug.

"Anytime" I reply.

"Well well well! What do we have here?" Kate sang looking at me and Jake.

"Oh hey Kate!" Jake says but I look at Kate with a stern face.

"What are you doing with my worst enemy?" She asks.

"We were talking Kate! And plus, you do not own him" I reply with annoyance evident in my tone.

"I understand everything now! That's why you announced her as the winner even though she didn't deserve it" Kate says and I feel like spitting in her face.

"That's not true Kate! We all know she deserved it" Jake defends and she laughs.

"Oh Jake! You took the wrong way befriending this slut" she spits and my blood boils.

I charge towards her but Jake holds me back and she laughs.

"Psycho" I yell at her making her laugh louder creating attention.

"You just can't stop? Always taking my male friends away from me! But its okay! I know you are jealous of me! You are dying to be like me but you can't cos you're too ugly" she spits and I slap her. How dare she? She called me ugly? And she said I'm jealous of her? And she also accused me of stealing her male friends?

She giggles and looks at me.

"BITCH!!!" I yell at her.

"Go on! Beat me up! Like the way you did a few weeks ago" she snarls.

Everyone is looking at us now. I wanted to do that but I decided to act more mature here.

"I wouldn't do that! But everyone knows you are the wrong one here" I spit with anger.

"Of course! You can't and everyone knows I'm right! Look at you with him! Its proof" she snarls and my breath hitches.

"You were lucky that my parents went on a trip! You would have been rotting in jail by now! For assaulting me you bitch! But they are back now and if you dare lay a finger on me again, you would be heading to the gallows" Kate sneers with a satisfying smile.

"I don't care" I sneer at her and she giggles.

"Go away Kate" Aaron says all of a sudden. Troy, Danny, Kimberly and Trina were here as well.

Kate smiles.

"Oh how wonderful! Her crew is here to defend her" She states amused.

"Aren't you tired Kate?" Kimberly snarls at her.

"We all know you are jealous of Nikki" Troy says.

"Its a fact" Danny adds up

Kate laughs.

"Me? Jealous? Of course! That's what she got into your heads" she yells at them and sends her gaze back to me.

"I'm giving you two options you psycho! One. You walk away silently and never come near Nikki again or Two. You stay and I teach you a lesson you would never forget in your life" Aaron spits and Kate gasps.

"You can't do anything to me you asshole! Or you'll end up in jail! But I'll take the first option" She sneers at Aaron and looks at me for the last time before walking away. Aaron is upset.

"And oh Aaron! Don't think am afraid of you! Or any of your members! And Jake dear, you are still my friend and I must warn you, you're making the biggest mistake in your life being friends with....... HER" Kate sneers saying the 'her' in disgust. Then she smiles and sashays away. We all stare at her and her purple hair.

Everyone is looking at me.

I sigh. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Are you okay?" Jake asks me.

"I need to go outside! I need to breathe! I'm suffocating inside here" I say afraid of having an asthma attack.

"I'll take you outside" Jake offers.

"No! I want to be alone" I reply.

"Are you sure?" Aaron asks.

I nod eagerly.

"Please take care of Trina as I get some air" I tell my friends.

"Nicole!" Trina says and hugs me.

"I'll be back soon" I promise her and take a deep breath. My chest was tightening. I couldn't breathe well. I drew in deep breaths

"Nicole are you okay?" Troy spits worriedly.

I nod but its not the truth

I walk alone outside and take out my inhaler. I inhale deeply but it doesn't do anything to stop the attack. I couldn't breathe!

I try to inhale but no air was getting into my lungs. I was suffocating. I dropped on my knees trying to breathe through my mouth. I felt pains in my chest.

"Oh my God! Nikki" someone says and everything goes blank.

I open my eyes and I'm in a room with heavy curtains. The room was painted black and white and it had this masculine feature.

I searched frantically for my phone even though I was in bed. But surprisingly, I can breathe now. I had an asthma attack yesternight and I remember I had a fight with Kate. I groan and finally find my phone.

There were;

Sixteen missed calls! Eight from my parents and Eight from my friends and Trina.

Six voicemails from my parents and Trina.

Three messages ; one from my sister and two from Troy.

I sigh deeply. I put my hand on my forehead and take a deep breath.

The door creaks open. A tall figure walks in with light brown hair. His eyes were amber in colour and he was wearing a  black hoodie and pair of simple grey shorts. I recognized him. He was on the soccer team with Aaron! Alec Russell! The player! The school's hottest hottie! Every girl wants to date him! And every guy want to be friends with him. He was right in front of me looking handsome and I was in his bed! In his room! In his house!

"Are you okay?" He asks with a charming smile.

"Yeah!" I reply confused.

He chuckles.

"I know you are wondering who I am" he says and I chuckle. I know him obviously! Its just that I haven't been close to  him like this before.

"I'm Alec Russell" he introduces with a small smile.

"How can I not know you? You are like a celebrity" I blurt and he chuckles. He was so cute. Apart from being a soccer  player and a playboy, he was also known as the doctor of calculus. He was the only one who enjoyed calculus class.

'I guess you already know me right?" I ask.

"Who doesn't know you? Nicole Anderson right?" He says with a chuckle.

I chuckle too.

"Yeah" I reply.

"I really admire you Nikki!" Alec spits.

"Oh I see! That's nice" I say awkwardly

He chuckles

"Especially the way you stood up to Kate at the party yesternight" he says and the memories resurfaces.

"Yeah" I say.

"Kate is a very troublesome girl! Everyone knows her! You do not have to pay attention to her nonsense all the time"  he explains with a small smile.

"I really appreciate your advice Alec"I reply with a smile

" So how did I get here?"I add.

"I got you here! You had an asthma attack and my mom looked after you" he replies simply.

"How did  you?....." I trail off and he smiles getting what I wanted to say.

"I realised you were finding it hard to breathe when you left the hall even though you told your friends not to follow you but I did! And when I got outside, you were struggling and then you fainted. Then I brought you home" he explains.

I sigh.

"Thank you Alec!" I say to him.

He smiles.

"I need to go home! Everyone is worried" I say and shuffle in his bed. I liked it though. It was really comfy.

"Won't you eat anything?" He asks.

"Oh no! I'm okay" I lie even though I was really hungry.

"Alec, is she better now?" A woman with short brown hair asks at the doorway.

"Yes she is mom" Alec responds.

"Hello dear" the woman says and comes to me

"Hello" I reply politely

"I'm Alec's mom. You are Alec's girlfriend right?" She says and a lump forms in my throat.

"Errrr....." I trail off and look at Alec. He gives me a sign to say yes.

"Yes I am" I say awkwardly with a small smile.

"You are really beautiful! Am glad my son found a girl like you! I'm a retired nurse and when he brought you in, you were in  terrible condition but am glad you are okay now" she rattles and I listen nodding.

"Thank you so much ma'am for saving me" I say gratefully.

"Its my pleasure especially if you are my son's girlfriend! But I never knew you had a girlfriend Alec! Until now! Why didn't you tell me?!" She says scolding Alec.

Alec smiles sheepishly.

"Err......I wanted it to be a surprise mom" he says nervously.

"Well this is a surprise! But am happy! The two of you look so cute together" Alec's mom says and I blush.

Alec ruffles his hair and laughs.

"I made Lasagne! So be quick and come and dine. I'll take the lead"

Alec's mom hugs me before leaving.

I raise an eyebrow at Alec and he shrugs making him look like some innocent ten year old.

I huff.

"Girlfriend?" I spit surprised.

Alec coughs nervously.

"I told my mom you are my girlfriend because I wanted her to take care of you" he says and I'm confused.

"Huh? Okay wait a minute! So if you didn't tell her that I'm your.....whatever! She wouldn't have looked after me?" I ask confused.

Alec clears his throat and smiles coyly. Gosh! He looks so cute whenever he smiles!

"exactly! My mom knows every girl I bring to this room! So I had to lie" he explains.

"So now she thinks we are in a relationship?" I say. I know any girl would kill to be in my position but this is all a surprise for me.

"Apparently yes" he replies.

"My mom doesn't like it when she sees me with those girls and I didn't want her to think you were one of them so I lied to her! All we have to do is act lovey dovey in front of her" Alec suggests with a shrug.

"Okay! I'm not doing this! You've changed my life completely " I chide

Alec huffs.

"Its easy" he suggests.

"Why didn't you tell her I'm your friend or something?" I ask.

"It didn't cross  my mind. Actually, when she saw you, she thought you were my girlfriend because first of all she has never seen you in this house before"

"Your reasons are confusing me the more" I reply. I feel like he's hiding the real reason from me or calculus has taken a toll on his brains!

"Let's just leave it" he shrugs.
