Nicole POV:
14th October! Tomorrow is my birthday and I can't wait! I feel much happier today striding in the halls with a big smile plastered on my face waving everyone who calls my name. I'm so full of life. I can't believe I'm turning eighteen tomorrow! Its like a dream come true!
Mom told me she had a great time at dinner this morning. My dad too has arrived home and I can only imagine the awesome goodies he brought for my birthday!
I also got a Gucci watch for Jenna at the mall this morning and I hope she would love it. I know my gift is a bit late but its alright. I got it in a cute yellow box for her. I spot Jenna at her locker and stride to her.
"Good morning Jenna!" I say cheerfully. I was really in high spirits today.
"Oh hey Nikki" she says enthused to see me.
"I know its a bit late to give you a birthday gift but I actually got one for you" I say and hand her the box.
She gasps and takes it.
"Thank you! I really appreciate it" Jenna says
"Open it" I say with a smile.
She does and her jaw nearly hit the floor
"You got me a Gucci watch? Oh my gosh thanks Nicole" she says and hugs me
"You're welcome and I'm glad you like it." I reply and she smiles gratefully.
I spot Jake walking towards us and I frown on seeing him. He also looks angry when he sees me but he still has a swollen face from the fight yesterday. I wonder what happened to that red head guy.
"Hello Jenna" he greets her ignoring me completely.
"Hello" Jenna replies with a smile.
Jake opens his locker which was next to Jenna's own.
"Let's go Jenna. I feel uncomfortable staying here" I spit making sure it hurts Jake in a way.
She nods and we walk out of there. So much for spoiling my mood today! No! My good mood cannot go! It needs to come back!
We make it to our first class, Literature. I heave a sigh of relief when I saw my friends here.
"Hey Jenna!" Danny spits and pecks her on the cheek.
Troy, Kimberly and Aaron were talking. I suddenly feel like talking to Aaron. I miss his voice in a way.
"Hey Aaron!" I greet.
He looks surprised when he hears my voice but he maintains his composure and says hello to me with a small smile. I'm happy he responded. At least he was a gentleman! Not like Jake.
"Can I have a minute with you?" I ask him hoping he wouldn't turn me down.
"Sure" he replies and gets up. We walk out of the classroom.
"Aaron I......" I trail off knowing I'm not being in charge here.
"I know and I'm trying very hard to get you out of my heart but I can't" he spills and my face softens
"Alec and I weren't in a relationship. It was just a fake one and now its over" I state and Aaron is astonished.
"What happened?"
"Well I'm not in the position to tell you. Its Alec's personal problem. But we didn't fight or anything. We are just friends now and I'm sorry if I broke your heart" I state and Aaron hugs me. I'm caught off guard.
"I thought I lost you! It hurt me to see you with Alec" he mouths in my hair.
"So can we be friends again?" I ask him
"Yeah! But I don't think we can be just friends! I love you Nikki" Aaron says and my stomach flutters.
"I don't know if you feel the same way" Aaron asks a bit nervous.
"I may not feel the same way but I'm willing to give it a shot" I reply even though I think I have feelings for Jake but he hates me now and there's no way he will come back to me. Alec on the other hand has to deal with Madison. But Melissa!
"What about Melissa? I thought you guys were together?" I ask
"She's my close friend. Kind of friends with benefits" he replies and I nod.
"Let's get to class shall we? Its almost time" he asks and I smile.
"Sure" I reply.
We walk to class together. I spot Jake sitting at the back beside Claire who was blabbering some things to him. I took my eyes off him and concentrated on Aaron and my friends.
Danny and Jenna were chatting excitedly and Troy and Kimberly were fighting. I chuckle when I see their faces red.
"What's up with you two weirdos?" Aaron spits.
"This fat chicken is getting on my nerves" Kimberly spits
"I'm not fat! And I'm not a chicken!" Troy retaliates.
I chuckle inwardly.
"Would you keep quiet Troy! I'm making a point here" Kimberly scolds
"I also have a point to make Kim!" Troy spits.
"Okay I think you two weirdos are in love with each other" I spit and they are quiet.
"What did you say?" Kimberly says in a squeaky voice making me laugh
"I agree with Nikki here. You two are in love but because you fight all the time, you don't seem to realise it" Aaron says.
"And you two weirdos really make a great couple" Danny says. I didn't know he was paying attention.
"Yes Kimberly! Look! You're even blushing" Jenna says with a giggle.
"You are all crazy" Kimberly spits.
"Just admit it Kim! You like me" Troy taunts and Kimberly rolls her eyes.
"Okay I admit I like you" she says and I gasp.
"You know what? I like you " Troy says and she blushes.
Aaron and I chuckle.
"Finally the two got to admit their feelings for each other" Danny says and we all chuckle.
"I knew there was something between the two of you freaks! Come here" I spit and entreat them to hug me.
The two of them hug me.
"Group hug!!!" Aaron shouts and we all hug each other laughing when we break apart.
Then we sit down. I sat beside Aaron and class starts. I pay attention to the teacher and try not to look in Jake's direction.

"So what's your next class?" Aaron asks me when Literature comes to an end.
"Calculus" I say.
"Oops! I have a different class. I have History! But we will meet during lunch" Aaron says to me
"Can I walk you to class?" He adds
"Sure!" I reply
We walk together talking about random stuff and waving a few people in the hallway. We finally make it to my class and Aaron leaves to his class. I enter to see Alec, Melissa, Kate and Claire. Why is Kate here?
I wave Claire who was sitting by Melissa. Melissa just nodded her head and went back to typing furiously on her iPhone. I walked up to Alec who was sitting at the back. He looked like he was in deep thoughts.
Kate is glaring at me.
"Hey Alec" I say and sit beside him. He flashes me a weak but comforting smile.
"Hey Nikki" he says
"I errr...came to check on you. You know since that day....."I trail off.
" yeah I know"he replies frowning slightly.
"I have been thinking about it and it hurts Nikki" he says with his face softening.
"So what are you planning to do?" I whisper.
"I don't know! But Madison has got me tied now! She wants me to be with her only and if I go against that, she's telling my father! " Alec rattles.
"She's not serious is she? She cannot just tell you what to do! You have feelings too"
Alec nods.
"I know but she's carrying my baby! I need to go her way"
I sigh.
"I'm sorry Nikki but our fake relationship cannot continue anymore! Even though I love you from the bottom of my heart" he says and I melt. My brain is mushed up. I can't think straight. I know he has said this to me before but something about the way he said it today makes it different and pleasant. The school's playboy likes me!
I encase his hands in mine.
"Its alright! You're a great guy Alec. I know you and Madison will get along well."
He nods with a small smile.
"But you need to tell your parents about this!" I spit
"I can't! They'll be too disappointed! Especially my mom! She would have a heart attack!" Alec says.
"You need to! It doesn't matter if they are disappointed in you! You can do it" I encourage.
"Just give me some time." He states and I nod.
"Thanks Nikki" he says with a small smile.
Class starts and we remain quiet throughout the lesson.
After calculus class, Alec and I walked to the cafeteria together cracking jokes together. I was happy to see him back to his usual self. I know this pregnancy has broken him.
Today is much better than yesterday. I feel good today. Things are getting in place.
Alec and I walk to our table.
"Hi Alec!" Aaron says with a huge grin out of the blue and Alec is shocked.
"Hey Aaron" Alec replies quite happy.
"Its been long buddy!" Aaron says and hugs him. Alec hugs back. I can't hide my grin. I'm glad they are back together
Alec sits beside Aaron when they break apart and I sit beside Kimberly. I take a bite of my slice of pizza. We all chat at the table making jokes and laughing our asses off getting curious glances from the students at the cafeteria
This is the best lunch I've had.
After lunch, I left to my next class, Biology. Troy was there and so as the redhead Jake fought with yesterday. Jenna was here too.
The redheaded guy looked horrible with a few scabs on his face. His face was also swollen like Jake's own and he had a black eye.
I looked away and sat beside Troy and Jenna.
"I got here earlier! You are fifteen minutes late Missy! What were you doing?" Troy taunts.
"Oh come on Troy! Class hasn't started yet" Jenna defends.
"Yeah I know! But you need to be an early bird!" Troy states.
Jenna shrugs.
"Since when did you become my personal time keeper dear Troy?" I taunt and he chuckles.
Our biology teacher struts in and we are silent.
After biology, I rush to my last class for the day! P. E. I change into my PE kit and walk to the gymnasium with Melissa who seemed to have the same class as mine.
We arrive at the place and I spot Jake, Aaron, Alec, Kate, and a few others.
I scoff under my breath when Jake and I make eye contact even though he was glaring at Alec before we made that unwanted eye contact. They are step brothers! He should quit doing that!
Aaron and Alec smile at me.
"You look good" Aaron compliments.
"Thanks" Melissa says and Alec chuckles.
"Aaron meant Nikki ,Melissa! Not you" Alec says and Melissa frowns.
"He meant me! Right Aaron?" Melissa enquires.
"I meant her Melissa! But you also look cute" Aaron quickly chimes in and Melissa scoffs.
Our teacher walks in.
"Okay everybody! We will be playing tennis today" he announces and we cheer.
"But before that, let's start with a warm up. Let's start with jumping jacks" he announces and we get ready.
"Ready?" He asks.
"Yes!!!" We all echo.
"Let's go!" He says and we begin.
After the jumping jacks, it was time for tennis.
"We will begin with the ladies first!" The teacher announces and my stomach flutters. He's about to pair us.
"Miss Anderson you'll be facing Miss Sanders" he spits and I feel like puking. Fuck!
He pairs Melissa with someone else. And he pairs the other girls with their fellow females.
"Okay! Miss Anderson and Miss Sanders! You're up!" He announces.
"Kill it" Alec tells me and winks. I smile.
"Break a leg" I hear Jake tell Kate.
I stride confidently onto the field and pick up the tennis racket and ball.
Kate picks her tennis racket too. This is going to be interesting! I just hope the ball will make contact with her plastic doll face.
The whistle goes and I throw the ball in the air and hit it with full force with my tennis racket towards Kate.
She hits it back and I make sure I do not lose it. I hit it back harder this time around and she hits it too hard. I quickly hit it back and she hits it. God! She's too good!
I'm afraid I'm gonna lose because things are getting out of hands. And yeah! I lost the ball. Kate shrieks and smiles at Jake.
"Miss Sanders! You win! Here's a medal" he says and hands it to her.
"Thank you!" She says a bit too giddily
I roll my eyes and drop my racket. This is the first time I lost to Kate
She goes to embrace Jake.
"You tried. You were impressive over there" Aaron tells me and I smile.
"Yeah! Its just that Kate is a professional in tennis" Alec says.
"How did you know that?" I ask surprised
He chuckles.
"Her dad is a tennis coach" he spits.
That's why she's so good at it.
"At home, they have thousands of tennis balls and rackets" Alec says with a chuckle.
I shrug and sit down taking a gulp of my water and watch the rest of the match. It finally gets to the boys. Melissa won a medal after facing a nerd. The nerdy girl was even afraid to hit the ball and that's what helped Melissa. She was so proud of it.
"Mr Russell, you'll be facing Mr Winters" the teacher announces and my heart stops beating.
He pairs Aaron with another guy.
Jake and Alec get onto the field. I inhale.
