Jake POV:
I can't believe this guy is my step brother! He took the love of my life away from me. I know I'm doing my best to forget Nikki but I still like her and I miss her. Her scent, her eyes, her hair, everything! I hate him! I also hate her because she lied to me but its impossible to hate the person you love!
I take the tennis racket and the ball. I'm glad I got the opportunity to face this guy. I want to hit him in the face with this ball so badly. I don't care if we are related!
The whistle goes and I throw the ball in the air and hit it with my racket. It heads straight for him and he hits it. I hit it back and he hits it. Damn! He was good!
I hit it harder this time hoping he will lose it. No! He didn't! He whacked it back. Was this guy some wizard or something?
I whacked it even harder this time and he whacks it with the same strength. I lose the ball. Fuck!!!
"Mr Russell wins!" Our teacher announces and gives him a medal.
He smiles proudly at me. I'm extremely angry. Why is this guy good in everything? He is good in soccer, calculus, tennis and even attracting girls. Aargh!
I know I'm jealous. Especially for the fact that he has Nikki beside him.
Nikki goes to him and hugs him. My heart drops.
"That was great Alec!" She says in a bubbly tone. She has never talked to me in that tone before. My jealousy builds up.
Alec chuckles.
"How did you do that?" Aaron asks.
"The tennis coach helped me"he brags and I feel like punching his face. He has a tennis coach?
"You mean Kate's Father?" Nikki asks and he nods. Kate's father? What the fuck? I don't understand.
"Darling! That was awesome!" Kate says and embraces me. My mind is still processing what I just heard.
"Don't be sad if Alec beat you! He's just good in things! He's a natural" Kate tells me and my blood boils
"Your dad trained him right?" I spit without thinking.
She is caught off guard. She chuckles slightly.
"What are you talking about?" She asks as if talking to a madman.
"Your dad is a tennis coach and he trained him Kate!" I yell at her and everyone looks at me.
"Mr Winters please don't shout" the teacher says.
I think Alec heard it. He will know I eavesdropped on his conversation. He drives me insane! He gives me a small smile and Nikki has a frown on her face.
Alec walks to me.
"Yes he did brother! Her father trained me" He spits and I feel rage.
"Alec! What are you doing?" Kate scolds.
"Telling the truth Kate!" Alec spits.
Kate scoffs.
"So now you know! Don't get too worked up brother!" Alec says with a smile.
"You are brothers?" Kate asks.
"They are brothers?" Aaron asks Nikki.
I flash him a smile.
"That's nice brother! I'm happy for you" I say with fake enthusiasm.
He nods and embraces me. I hit back even though I didn't want to.
"See ya" he spits and leaves.
"You are brothers?" Kate asks me but I ignore her and pack my stuff. Its closing and I want to get out of here.

"Jake wait!" Kate yells as she runs after me to the parking lot.
"What?!" I bark at her.
"I know you are upset but would you here me out for just ten minutes" she asks.
I sigh.
"Ten minutes it is" I reply.
"Its true my father is a tennis coach and he trained Alec" she spills and I listen. I don't know why am behaving like this.
"Alec and I were in a relationship then and he and my father got really close. My father wanted to train him so that he could become a star player one day so he trained both of us."
"But we broke up after some issues came in and he stopped training and went in for soccer. That's why he's part of the soccer team and he is the star player. And that's why he beat you there" Kate concludes and I understand everything now. I sigh. At least she was telling the truth unlike Nikki. But what hurts me is that Kate and Alec have been together before. I sigh.
"Alright Kate." I reply with a small smile. She was always truthful. What she said really made sense.
"So you and Alec are brothers?" She asks and bile rises in my throat. Whenever I remember I'm related to him I feel sick. But he's not my father's biological son. He was born somewhere else and that makes me feel better in a way. Thomas and Lucas are the ones carrying my father's blood. They are my real step brothers. And Alec is supposed to be but I hate him.
"Yes we are!" I reply with a sigh
"Seriously? The two of you are very different" Kate says.
"Different? How?"I ask
"In many ways Jake"Kate says.
" We are step brothers Kate"I clarify.
"Oh! That's why" she says.
A car honks
"Oh that's my driver! I'll see you tomorrow baby! " she says and pecks my cheek.
"Bye!" She sings and walks to a sleek Lamborghini in black.
I spot Nikki come out of the building with her whole entourage looking exuberant. When I say entourage, I mean her gang and a few others. Alec was walking alongside her and I clench my fists. She's happy and I'm here being jealous and suffering.
They disperse saying goodbyes to one another and I watch her climb into her mom's car. She sees me and our eyes lock. I feel vulnerable. Her blue eyes alone makes my heart melt.
I take my gaze off her and climb into my car. I can't get her out of my heart. I watch her mom move out of the parking lot. I sigh and move my car out too. I wonder why Nikki wanted to talk to me. I really wanted to hear what she had to say but my fat ego didn't allow me.
I drive straight to my dad's company. When I get there, I park and walk into it. I get into the elevator and go straight to his office.
"Son!" He says on seeing me. He has a document spread out in front of him.
"Dad!" I reply with a beam
He smiles.
"How was school today?" He asks.
"Great!"
"I have some plans and I would like to share it with you" he states.
"Which is?" I ask taking a seat in front of him.
"I'm thinking of taking you, your mom and Jessica to the country club when we visit them for a few days so that we can unite as a family" he states.
"Really dad?" I ask
"Yes!"
"That's exhilarating to hear dad! They'll love it!" I gush hugging him. He laughs.
"So when do you think we should leave to England?" My dad asks.
"I think we should go in December! Christmas time" I suggest.
"Great idea son! They would love it"
"But what about my new wife and children? They can't spend Christmas without me"
I sigh. I really don't want Alec to be there to spoil my mood. However, Thomas and Lucas are adorable and their mother too isn't that bad.
"They can come with us" I suggest.
"Your mom wouldn't like it if she sees a new woman in my life"
"I know she will understand. I'll call them and talk to them about it tonight"
"Alright son! I really have a big family! Two wives and five kids" my dad says with a chuckle.
I chuckle too.
"I have to go dad! Its getting late" I say quickly.
"Sure son! Don't you think its high time you moved to our house?" He spits and I freeze.
Staying in the same house with Alec will mean disaster. I cannot stand him!
"No dad! I really like my apartment" I say politely
"Are you sure? Because we have many rooms available" my dad says
"I'm okay dad!"
"You are welcome to my house anyway! You can come there anytime"
"Sure dad! I'll be visiting my brothers often" I say
"Yeah! So how are you and Alec? I don't see you two together most of the time"
"We are cool dad" I lie.
"I'm happy to hear that! I really want you two to get along! Both of you are my eldest sons!"
"Yes we know father"
He chuckles.
"Going dad! See ya"
I strut out of his office and get to my car. I call Jessica whiles driving.
"Hey Jake! Its about time you called you asshole!" Jessica grumbles
I chuckle."yeah! Am so sorry Jess! I've been really busy recently"
"Mom was worried sick about you! She thought something happened to you" Jessica spits.
"I know! I know but would you please hear me out for a moment?"
"Okay! Just cut to the chase" Jessica chides
"I'll be coming over for Christmas with dad" I state
"Dad?" Jessica asks astounded.
"Yeah Jess! With dad" I reply
"Okay Jake if this is one of your bad jokes, cut it out because it's not funny" Jessica spits obviously annoyed
"I'm not joking! Its the absolute truth" I say and Jessica chuckles
"Jake, if you are drunk or something and you keep on saying those kind of things to me, I'll hang up"
"What makes you think so?" I say
"Well because we haven't seen dad for many years now and all of a sudden you tell me you and him are coming over for Christmas?" Jessica says frustratedly.
"I understand you perfectly! But I'm not drunk! I'm in the right state of mind and I'm telling you the fucking truth!"
"Like seriously? Dad is coming here?" Jessica asks
"Yes Jess! So get ready! On twenty fifth, we will be at your doorsteps! Tell mom"
"But wait! How did you find him? How did all these happen? Because I still hate him"Jessica states
" its a long story! I'll tell you when I come home with him! He explained everything to me and it wasn't his intention to abandon us" I state and enter the parking lot. I park my car and get down.
"It wasn't?" Jessica repeats
"Yes! It was for our own good Jessica!"
"I don't believe him! What if he lied to you and you believed him? Did he prove it to you?"
"Yes he did! He was sincere and I know it"
"Whatever! He better explain things well when he gets here"
"Remember to tell mom about it and oh! I almost forgot! You'll be meeting your step mother and step brothers! You are the only princess in the family"
"Step mother? Step brothers? Did he remarry?" Jessica asks astounded
"Yes he did and he told me the reason so don't be judgemental Jess"
"Fine! But I don't trust him! He lost my trust a long time ago"
"I know!" I say and enter my apartment turning on the lights.
"I need to go Jake, Mom needs me right now! I promise I will tell her" Jessica says hurriedly and hangs up.
I drop my satchel and phone in the couch. I take a deep breath. Tomorrow's Friday! The week will finally come to an end and I would be able to rest during the weekend.
My phone rings and its Kate. I pick up.
"Jake, you still haven't given me an answer to what I suggested a few days ago" she spits and I'm at sea.
"What did you suggest? I don't remember"
She sighs
"About overthrowing Nicole" she deadpans.
"Oh that!" I say now remembering.
Kate suggested to me that I should overthrow Nicole in order to get back at her for what she did to me and I think its a great idea! She will be so hurt! And she will lose her title making her a common floor member and me, the new Alpha!
"I think its great Kate!" I reply and she giggles.
"That monster deserves to be put back into her place! So when are you telling it to her face?" Kate spits.
"On Monday!" I reply. Wickedness was surging through me.
"Nice Jake! I love Monday! I can't wait to see her face when she hears it"Kate says wickedly.
" yeah! It will be fun! I can't wait too"
"So will you be at Troy's party this Saturday?" Kate asks and I think deep. I don't have anything important to do on Saturday Night.
"Yeah! You?" I ask.
"I will be there! See ya! I love you" she says.
"I love you" I reply even though it wasn't true! I was just using Kate to make Nikki feel jealous and rejected. That's all.
I walk straight to the kitchen and grab something to eat.
