Chapter 62: Chapter 62:

"Come on! I've literally watched most of the spiderman episodes with you! I would say maybe 50% of them! Let's watch something else please?" I plead with Aaron who wants us to watch another spiderman episode for the night.

"Okay! What do you want us to watch?" Aaron asks sighing  defeated.

I scoot closer to him and look through the DVD's.

"What about a comedy? Its a long time I watched those kinds of movies" I ask him contemplating whether to choose Johnny English or Naked.

"Anything will do Nikki" Aaron shrugs. I finally chose Naked and Aaron inserted it into the DVD player.

I sat in my bed wearing my polka dotted pyjamas and tied my hair up in a messy bun. Aaron climbs onto my bed and sits beside me. He gets under the covers.

"Do you think Tigress will show up this Halloween?" Aaron asks me looking straight at the TV. The movie was about to start.

"Maybe" I say with a shrug

"She usually comes every Halloween"

"Have you heard from her recently?" Aaron asks pursing his lips.

"No. I haven't heard from her since the day she went insane and gave us that Tearing the records book apart episode" I reply and Aaron chuckles.

"Do we have a new records book?" He asks me.

I sigh."I dunno! But I am sure Troy hasn't gotten us a new one yet."

"Then we better prepare for the Tigress tearing us apart episode on Halloween cause she would definitely want to see our new scores in our new book" Aaron half jokes and I chuckle.

"I don't care if she swallows us alive" I reply with a snort.

Aaron chuckles.

"I miss this moment so much. Me, you on the same bed together? Watching movies" he says biting his lip and looking at me straight in the eyes.

"Yeah! I do too" I reply honestly.

"You have something on your lips" he spits and I frown.

"What?" I ask.

"I'll get it" he says and touches my lip removing whatever it is.  He holds it up for me to see. It was just a thread. I blush. Why was he looking at my lips in the first place?

"Thank you" I say gratefully with a smile.

"You are welcome"

After an awkward silence, we decided to concentrate on the movie which was so hilarious until we both fell asleep.

My alarm goes off and I shut it down annoyed. It always disturbs my beauty sleep. I look to my side and Aaron is sleeping. His hands were around my tiny waist and my head was on his chest. I brushed some strands of hair from his face.

I guess he was such a heavy sleeper cause my annoying alarm which cries like a dying horse couldn't even wake him. I carefully remove his hand from my waist and quickly go to the bathroom to take a shower remembering last night's movie. I feel much better and happier when Aaron is around. He kind of lifts up my bad mood.

"Nikki! Are you there?" I hear Aaron ask behind the door of the bathroom

"Yes I am" I screech praying he wouldn't open the door.

"Alright! Should I join you?" He asks with a chuckle.

"No!" I yell at him and I hear him laugh. It reminded me of what happened between Alec and I on this shower sharing thing. Kind of like a deja vu situation.

I quickly take my bath and get back into my room in my bathrobe. Aaron was sprawled in my bed looking at me with his green irises.

"I thought you were fast asleep when I left" I ask him surprised he just woke up.

"Even my alarm didn't wake you"

"I was asleep! But then I knew I was missing something because I couldn't feel you and you scent so I woke up and realised you were gone" Aaron elaborates

"Hmmm....interesting" I reply

"You can go and take a shower now" I tell him with a smile

He chuckles

"I wanted to share the shower with you" he whines

"That is not possible" I tell him whiles I fix my hair up in the mirror

"Why is it not possible? Sharing is caring! And you my girlfriend are not caring for me right now"

"Sorry bout that! Maybe I'll share it with you when we are let's say, married as a couple" I reply with a smirk.

Aaron smirks. He was obviously enjoying this conversation...no not conversation! I mean this banter we were using to tease each other.

"You still need to learn the concept of sharing pumpkin" he says and touches my nose lightly with his index finger.

"I'll be in the bathroom" he simply says and disappears into it. I tie my hair up into two ponytails. One on the left side and one on the right. I remember mom used to style my hair this way when I was younger. It makes me look like some innocent little girl.

I coat my lips with my classic peach coloured lip gloss. I had all the colours and I only used peach whenever I was going to school. I got into an olive tee shirt with Cliché written on it in bold black letters over a pair of leggings. I got my little coat which was brown in colour and slipped on my black boots. I looked at my reflection in the mirror for the last time then Aaron came out.

"Nice outfit" he compliments

"Thanks" I reply.

He has a towel around his waist.

"What are you wearing to school? Cause I know your clothes are rumpled" I ask him.

He smiles slightly

"Maybe I'll be going in this towel"

"Seriously?" I ask wide eyed and he nods with a smile.

"That will be a sight to see! Everyone would be like...what's wrong with him? Or..I think one of his blue wires is torn"

Aaron laughs.

"I don't give a shit about what they say love"

He strides towards me. Our faces a few inches apart.

"Okay! Just stop joking around and get something to put on!" I scold him.

"Maybe I can borrow some clothes for you?" I ask him

"No need! I've got a spare in my car! Can you please retrieve it for me?"

"Sure"

"Thanks" he says and kisses me lightly on my lips.

I smile and walk out of my room. I spot mom in the kitchen. Dad is already taking breakfast. I'm sure he had to get to a meeting cause he was eating really fast plus he goes for meetings on Wednesdays and Fridays. Today is Wednesday. I just hope the food doesn't choke him. As if on cue, he began coughing and I giggle. He takes in water and goes back to eating fast again. Why is he rushing? Besides, he is even early. Maybe he wants to escape the rush hour.

"Morning dad!" I chirped.

"Morning  sweetheart" he said simply and continues to eat.

I walk out of the front door towards Aaron's car. I opened the passenger door and I spot a crimson shirt and a pair of jeans. I grab them and shut the door.

I spot dad running hurriedly to his Benz whiles checking his watch. He gets inside and starts it.Within five seconds, he disappeared down the road going at top speed.

I go back into the house and Trina was already at the table eating. I greet her and go to my room.

"What took you so long?" Aaron asks the moment I step in.

I give him an apologetic smile and handed him his clothes.

"I'll be downstairs" I tell him and leave with my satchel slung around my shoulder.

I sat down and dined to the hamburgers mom prepared.

"Where is Aaron?" Mom asks

"Dressing up"

"You wouldn't call him 'bony kid' anymore?" I ask mom surprised and she chuckles.

My phone rings and I take it out of my satchel. Tigress registered on the caller ID. I swallow the hamburger in my mouth and excuse myself going outside to answer the call. I wonder why she was calling.

"What do you want?" I blurt into the phone the moment I pick up

"Ooh! Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning" Tigress says with a chuckle

"Remember our last encounter?" I remind her and she laughs.

"Oh Nikki! I never knew you hold grudges against people."she taunts.

" whatever! But you were mean"

"I know. I was just disappointed"

"The records book is gone! And for your information, we do not have a new one yet" I spit and she just laughs.

"Enough! Besides, there is no need for a new one right? Cause I heard someone wants to overthrow you" Tigress states and my heart thuds in my chest.

"How did you know?" I blurt astounded.

"Come on Nikki! You are behaving as if you don't know me at all. I always have my ways. He is a newbie and his name is Jake. He has his new gang and your enemy Kate Sanders is part of it. Right or wrong?"

I am tongue tied. She just rattled everything to me like a news caster.

How did she get all this information. There could be a spy amongst us.

"That's why I told you to lift up your game darling" Tigress tells me. I could imagine her smirking right now.

"I uh... I have it under control Tigress! There is no way they are going to overthrow me" I tell her.

"I hope so!" She states darkly.

"Anyways, I'll be coming this Halloween like the usual. We will meet at Troy's clubhouse. So spread the word" she adds up a bit cheerful.

"Okay"

"Good bye Nikki"

I hang up and hit my head.  I walk back into the house and everyone is done with their breakfast

"Who called?" Trina asks

"A friend" I reply and eat the rest of my food. Aaron was sitting there looking at me skeptically.

"I would  be driving you and Trina to school" he offers.

"Sure"

"Who called?" Aaron asks as soon as Trina gets out of the car.

"Tigress"

He is appalled.

"What did she say?"

"She informed me she will be coming this Halloween as usual"

"That's all?"

"Yes that is all"

"You are not telling me something Nikki! I know it"

"I don't know but its like there is a spy amongst us who gives Tigress information on the latest developments in school"

"Why? What did she tell you?"

"She told me everything that has happened within the past few weeks."

"So who could be the spy?"

"I don't know"

"But why is she spying on us?"

"To check if we are doing our 'homework' "

"Yeah! That could be the reason" Aaron replies and glides into our school's parking lot.

"But it wasn't necessary to spy on us" I say in a huff whiles unbuckling my seat belt as Aaron parked his car. He got down quickly and came to my side to open the door. I said a thank you and he kissed my forehead lightly with a smile. We walk towards the school building holding hands.

I escorted Aaron to his locker to take his books then he walked with me to mine. I took my books too.

"What do you have this morning?" Aaron asks me.

"History" I tell him and he is disappointed

"I have Literature now but I'll see you later then."

I nod and he walks me to my class. I infiltrate into the half filled room and I spot Kate amongst the people there with her minions. I just put my headphones on and listen to my playlist. I remove them when our History tutor enters and class begins.

I walked as fast as I could to my next class with my headphones still in place. I had Biology and our teacher didn't tolerate lateness. He was just like our English teacher and yeah, I have English after lunch....that means I'll be running for classes today.

I get into the classroom and Alec was there with Troy. I sat beside them.

"How are you doing sunshine?" Alec asks and I flash him a smile.

"I'm better today than yesterday"

"I can see that! Since you didn't dump a freshman guy's  drink on anybody today" Troy says with a chuckle

"Maybe you'll be the second one to have a soda bath Troy! Like that?"

"No Nikki! I already had a great shower this morning. Thank you" Troy quickly retorts and I laugh.

Our tutor clears his throat noisily and the place is silent.

"I told you all on Monday that I will be pairing you boy and girl for the dissection of the frog experiment we will be carrying out tomorrow"he states clearly and everyone echoes yes in response. I wasn't here on Monday because I had a hangover and slept so much so I didn't know what he was talking about.

" okay so I'll start with the pairing "he says clearing his throat

He begins to pair. Alec was paired with a popular girl at the back of the class, Troy was paired with Aurora who was surprisingly in our class. She was in Jake's gang and I wonder if she will get along with Troy in this experiment.

" Miss Anderson? "Our teacher calls

" yes sir"I reply

"You will be working with Mr Winters tomorrow" he states and bile rises in my throat.

Alec too doesn't look happy about it. I decide to keep my mouth shut.

"Okay so I guess I'm done! So you will meet your partners whenever and research on the frog and its parts for tomorrow's experiment! Thank you"

I growl in annoyance. Why do I get paired with him of all people? I would have accepted someone else instead.
