DELTA's POV
"Thanks Manny". I tell him as we finish up eating. "That's what I'm here for Delta, you need to take it easy". I smile I'm so glad to have him as my assistant. I don't know what I'd do without him. I remember last year when he got sick for a week. He had sent a friend as a replacement for him and well she never wanted to come back not that I wanted her here anyways. She caved too quick under pressure and didn't know where anything was even after she was briefed by Manny. I tried going easy on her but my temper got the best of me and day 2 was her last day.
For the rest of the week, I went to his place after work with soup and movies so he would get better quickly and come back to work.
I take Manny's advice to take it easy and watch the CCTV video from yesterday. I get angrier the more I look at my laptop that was playing the video I pick up my phone and call Manny. " I need Anna sent to my office NOW".
"Right away Ms. Swanson". His voice just as serious as mine, all previous playfulness forgotten. Few minutes later a knock followed by a can I come in is heard.
"Come in".
Anna walks in looking a little intimidated. I close my eyes and take a few deep breathes. "Anna have a seat". Anna is one of the nicest girls' I've met and has become a good friend of mine. "Have I not told to tell me if anything happens to you?" I say as I try to calm my temper.
Her eyes widen and she looks scared all of a sudden. "I don't know what you are talking about Ms. Swanson, nothing happened". I sigh and get up from my chair and walk around the table to her and take her to the couch. "Don't lie to me Anna, you know I hate it and I've seen the CCTV footage. I need you to truthfully tell me what happened in the kitchen yesterday. And don't leave out anything". Her eyes fill up with tears and she embraces me and breaks down.
She tells me about yesterday when she went to the kitchen to get her lunch and a co-worker named Winston came in after her and made sexual comments about her. When she asked him to stop he got angry and got in her face and started touching her inappropriately while trying to take off her clothes. He stopped when they heard someone walking towards the kitchen and threatened her to not tell anyone.
I squeezed her should and kept my hand there for a few minutes until her cries subsided. "Stay, I'll be back in a couple of minutes". I get up to leave but she grabs my hand stoping me. I turn to look at her only to see her giving me a pleading look. "Trust me I'll make this right Anna". I walk out the door in search for the that asshole Winston.
I stop at Manny's desk. "Is Winston here today?". He looks up something on his computer then nods, "Yes he is, in fact he just went to the kitchen". I nod and head towards the kitchen. It's better to not do it front of everyone I don't want Anna to be humiliated. I stop just at the entrance of the kitchen, there are two other girls in there apart from him. I see the girls sticking together and rushing around to get out of there. None of them seem to have noticed me yet. I glance at Winston only to see him looking at the girls with a lustful look. Disgusting pig. I'll put an end to this, who knows how long this has been happening.
I move and just stand close to the entrance but out of sight. The girls hurry out and finally notice my presence. I lower my voice "Is he harassing both of you?" They nod too afraid to speak. I close my eyes to calm my raging temper. "He won't be bothering you or anyone for that matter once I'm through with him". They leave and I slowly walk in. My heels click on the kitchen tiles.
"Ms. Swanson", he greets me looking me up and down.
I walk to the wall near him and lean back on it putting my right foot up on the wall behind me. I give him a sultry look. I see him biting his lip but stays still in his spot. I use my left hand to motion him to come closer and he obliges.
When he is within my arms reach I punch him square in the nose and I hear a satisfying crack. Blood trickles down his chin. I grab his collar and drag him out out of the kitchen and throw him onto the floor in the middle of the circle that was starting to form.
"SECURITY" I roar. Each floor has security so I didn't wait long until two guards show up.
"Take this piece of filth; who doesn't know how to treat and respect women; I don't ever wanna see his face here again". The guards take him away and as soon as they leave pretty much everyone sighs in relief. Oh no not so fast.
"And all YOU, there's an HR department here for a reason, talk directly to me if you don't want to talk to them. Now I want answers. How long has he been doing this?".
Everyone looks down in shame. "WELL?!"
"I'm disappointed in all on you". I shake my head as I turn on my heels ready to head towards the staircase.
"Wait! Ms. Swanson", someone yells out.
I turn to find one of the girls that was in the kitchen earlier stepping in front on me. I raise my eyebrow giving her the cue to continue.
"Not everyone knew, the people that did know were too scared to say anything because he threatened to get us fired".
"So you chose to keep a job safe over keeping a woman's virtue safe?", I asked shocked.
"NO!...I mean no Ms. Swanson we always tried to go in pairs or groups never alone". Her eyes cast downwards.
I grab her chin and make her meet my eyes so she can see the fury in them. "How come Anna was alone yesterday then?"
I step back and yell for Anna. Seconds later she comes down the stairs. "According to Ashley here everyone was supposed to stick in pairs/groups. So my question is why were you alone?"
"I-I...He cornered me after work a couple of days ago and demanded that I meet him alone or he would take me to the basement an-and he w-w-would.." I put a hand up to silence her it was pretty clear to everyone what he intended to do she didn't need to say the word..Rape..That dreaded word.
"He's gone now, he won't be getting a job anywhere anytime soon. I'll make sure of that" I assure my staff.
"And next time I expect to hear about it the first instance it happens, no one messes with my people" I smirk and see everyone cracking smiles. The tension dissipating as they go back to work.
"Ben, make sure he goes exactly where I want him". He nods and leaves.
I walk to my office only to find Manny standing at the top of the stairs with a shit eating grin on his face. "Woo you badass".
I smirk again and walk to my office to work. Again.
