Chapter 79: CH 79

On Monday, before Yuuichi went for his club activities, I talked with him for a bit.

“Hey Yuuichi, Do you know who Marino Tobise is?”

“Hmm? Nope, I don’t have a clue, who is she?”

“She’s an Onee-san, a sophomore in university, you really don’t know her?”

“Um, I never heard of her, seriously who is she?”

“….No, it’s fine then.”

“Is that so, well okay, I’ll go to the club then. Good luck with your part-time job Tsukasa.”

“Ahh, Thank you.”

As expected, Tobise-san and Yuuichi haven’t met yet.

I believe it will be at the end of summer vacation when they finally meet. He helps out Tobise-san when she was getting hitted on if I remember right.

This Yuuichi somehow flagged Fujise too during middle school when she was getting hitted on. This guy is some kind of a flag monster.

But it seems for now, I’m the only person that has properly met her.

The original plot has already broken into shambles, I don’t think I even have any moves to piece it back together.

I don’t know anymore though, I think I’ll just leave it as is.

With that in mind, I left the school and start walking towards the coffee shop.

After walking for a while, someone approached me from behind.

“Hisamura”

“Hm? Sei-cha–Shimada.”

When I turned around, I saw Sei-chan chasing me.

“Hisamura.. The name.. Well, it’s whatever.”

“Sorry, it just came out naturally. I’m sorry.”

We were already quite far away from the school and there weren’t any students nearby to hear us.

“On the contrary, I realise that even when we’re alone I still call you Hisamura.”

“But you’re trying to change that, aren’t you?”

“Well… yes… Tsukasa.”

“I get a jolt whenever Sei-chan calls me by my name with her ikemen-like voice!”

“Is having an ikemen-type voice a compliment towards women?!”

Of course, it’s a very huge compliment.

Sei-chan’s voice is very nice, clear and calm for a high school girl.

When she’s shy, she’s cute. And when she says my name it’s super cool.

I can fall in love with Sei-chan’s voice alone!

Well it doesn’t really matter as I love ALL of Sei-chan anyways.

“I love your voice Sei-chan, I want to hear it everyday.”

“E-Eh?! Oh.. uh.. I like Tsukasa’s voice too..”

“Ku… I’m taking damage. How could you say that  with such a nice voice…?”

“You’re taking damage from that?!”

It’s no exaggeration to say that Sei-chan’s voice has both damaging AND restoring qualities in it.

For me, the damaging power is strong, but her restorative power is even stronger! So it cancels out evenly.

Thus, it’s concluded by court that I should still listen to her voice all the time.

“I’m pretty sure Tsukasa’s house isn’t in this direction, where are you going?”

“I’m going towards my part-time job right now.”

“Ahh, so your part-time job is at a coffee shop?”

“Yeah, the manager there is nice. I think it’s a nice place to work at.”

“Well, that’s good then. Can I come next time then?”

“Of course, I’ll tell the Manager so that I can personally serve you.”

As we were walking and talking, me and Sei-chan eventually reached an intersection.

“See you later, Sei-chan.”

“Ahh, see you.”

“Areh? Tsukasa-ku~n!”

As Sei-chan and I were about to split, someone called out to me from behind.

I didn’t need to turn around to recognize who it was.

“Ahhh, I knew it. What a coincidence, Tsukasa-kun. Are you going to work part-time now as well?”

“ ‘I knew it’ is supposed to be my line, Tobise-san.”

She’s got a distinctive voice, or rather a very gentle onee-san-like voice. So it’s very recognizable.

“It’s been a while, Tobise-san.”

“I see, So we’re working together again? We’re both coming back directly from school right? Woah. Tojoin High uniforms, I haven’t worn these in a while. It’s so nostalgic.”

Tobise-san kept talking as she approached me.

She started spinning around me as she checked my uniform.

She then noticed that Sei-chan was in the vicinity.

“Ahhh, the girls uniform! Neh-Neh, can you show your uniform to Onee-san.”

“Ehh? Ahh? Ha?”

“Thanks, I like it. It’s more comfortable for university students to wear casual clothes, but uniforms are nice too.”

Tobise-san stopped circling Sei-chan and stared at her.

“Ahh, you’re so cute! The way you wear the uniform looks so cool and you have great style. Un, there’s such a beauty in Tojoin now.”

I was just about to say ‘Right, isn’t she lovely?’ but stopped myself cause It would have made the current situation even more confusing.

“Tsu- Hisamura, who is this?”

“This is Marino Tobise. She’s a senior at my part-time and a second year university student that graduated from Tojoin High too.”

“Nice to meet you! What’s your name?”

“Sei Shimada”

“Sei-chan! Waa! You’re so pretty and cute, nice to meet you.”

“Haa~ Nice to meet you.”

It’s amazing, Tobise-san is a master communicator. She gets along with everybody without thinking and gets everyone caught up in her pace.

“Anyways, What’s the relationship between Tsukasa-kun and Sei-chan? Friends? Or maybe… lovers?”

Tobise-san asked with sparkling eyes.

Can someone please tell me whats going on.

When I glanced at Sei-chan, she seemed troubled, but answered nonetheless.

“Hisamura and I are classmates and close friends.” [TLN: The close friends part can be seen as both close friends and lovers and heavily depends on context.]

It seems that she doesn’t want to openly refer to us as lovers yet.

If It were me, I wouldn’t have lied and said we were classmates and friends.

However..

“Eh? So are you friends? Or lovers then?”

You’re not the type to back down to vague answers are you, Tobise-san?

“Which one is it?! Are you sweethearts?! You guys are dating, aren’t you! C’mon, tell Onee-san about it, I won’t tell anyone.”

“N-No, we’re just classmates.”

Ohh, Sei-chan is faltering, this is unusual.

“Really? Tsukasa-kun is really handsome, isn’t he? Don’t you want him to be your boyfriend?”

“H-He is handsome, b-but dating someone because of their face is another question.”

“That’s true, but Tsukasa is also very kind, y’know? Even when I mess up at my part-time job, he stills follows up on my mistakes.”

“I-I see…”

“If I was in your position, I’d take him as a boyfriend.”

“…?!”

Sei-chan looked at Tobise with an alarmed look.

Did she consider her a rival? Or something similar?

I’m glad you feel that way, but I don’t think that Tobise-san meant her words seriously.

I’m pretty sure she only said that akin to how a relative would.

But I guess I would have taken it a different way if I didn’t know Tobise-san well.

“Tobise-san, please don’t tease Shimada too much.”

“Ehh? Are you okay with this Tsukasa-kun? Sei-chan is so cute! Don’t you want to make her your girlfriend?”

“Of course I think she’s cute. And I’d love to have her as my girlfriend but..”

I mean she already IS my girlfriend and I’m very happy with our current situation.

“Ah then Tsukasa-kun, tell me.”

“Hm..?”

Tobise-san looked like she was having the time of her life while Sei-chan looked away in embarrassment.

“Well then, what about me? Would you go out with me?”

“With Tobise-san? I think Tobise-san is extremely beautiful and has a great

personality. Anyone that goes out with you would be extremely lucky.”

“Fufu, Thank you.”

“……”

Tobise-san looked happier than ever, whilst Sei-chan was giving me a stone-faced glare.

No-no, Sei-chan. I was forced into this position, I had no choice.

I have no intention of going out with Tobise-san as I’m fully devoted to Sei-chan!

I was trying to transmit my message to her with my eyes but I’m not sure if she got it. She looked away with a pout instead.

I hope it got through… but Sei-chan just now was really cute.

“Ahh, Tsukasa-kun, I have to go soon, I’ll be late for work.”

“Isn’t it because you spent so much time chatting here.”

“Fufu, I guess so. Then let’s go quickly, Tsukasa-kun.”

Tobise-san moved next to me leaving Sei-chan alone.

As expected, this person’s sense of personal space is as hopeless as ever.

In front of Sei-chan, I took a small step away from Tobise-san so that she doesn’t realise.

“See you tomorrow, Shimada.”

“A-Ahh, See you tomorrow.”

“See you next time Sei-chan! Let’s talk again.”

“A-Ah…”

Sei-chan seemed kind of distressed, I wonder what’s wrong.

I couldn’t ask her now, so Tobise-san and I went straight to work.

Sei-chan walked in the opposite direction.
