Chapter 15: Chapter 13 | 🍒

The Baby Sitter | MinsungWords: 15682

Thursday

The dense wind made the bag Jisung was holding sway from side to side, knocking it against his knee. He twisted the straps around his fingers to hold it still, before continuing on to Minho's house. The older had informed him that he'd already be gone, but that a key was left in the flower beds. Jisung's wasn't bothered by this today, as it was better Minho was out of the house for the whole day; he didn't want the surprise to be ruined.

Arriving at the house, the blond found the key and opened the door, instantly calling out for Heijin and Heihyun. "Jinnie, Hyun, it's Sungie!" There was a stampede of footsteps sounding overhead as the two boys ran down the stairs. Heijin launched himself at Jisung, something normal for the older to experience now, grappling onto his torso like a baby koala.

"Sungie Sungie, you're here!!"

"Yes Jinnie I am, how long

have you been alone?"

"Oh dad left just, over 5

minutes ago maybe?"

"That's good, did you stay in your room?"

"Mhm, with Heihyun!"

The aforementioned toddler down the stairs towards them, staring down at the floor while hugging Jisung's legs. "Hey Jisung," the small boy breathed, "what's in the bag?" The blond beamed and asked Heijin to get off of him. The dark haired boy slipped down to the floor, giving Jisung a chance to show them the contents of the shopping bag.

"I thought we could make a cheesecake together for your dad, since he got his promotion." The young boys turned to look at each other, both with an expression of wonder and eagerness.

"Can we start right now?"

"Please please please Sungie!!"

"Of course we can."

The group headed for the kitchen, and after instructing Heihyun and Heijin to change into some clothes they didn't mind getting covered in flour, Jisung was able to start.

"Okay so, first we need to weigh the biscuits so we can then turn them into crumbs." The blond recited from memory— he'd made so many cheesecakes over the past 10 years that he knew the best recipes off the top of his head.

Heijin was quick to volunteer himself to smash the digestives, and as Heihyun said he was alright with measuring them, that was how the roles were to be. Jisung's searched for a ziploc bag big enough while the brunette weighed out the biscuits, his brother watching closely. Once that was done, the ingredient was packed away and secured within the bag, ready for Heijin to smash apart with the rolling pin.

Both Heihyun and Jisung especially plugged their ears as the younger boy brought the tool down upon the biscuits. It was no surprise that he wouldn't hold back, but it was so unbelievably loud for such a small child to produce. It was better for them however, as Heijin didn't leave a single large crumble of digestive left.

"Now what Sungie?"

"We are going to put that in a bowl to one

side, and move onto the cheese part."

As a team they worked throughout the morning, joking around only a tiny bit but otherwise really getting on with making the best cheesecake they could possibly produce. Jisung probably poured most of his effort into the treat, after all it was a congrats to Minho and the younger wanted it to be flawless. Only thing was that he'd chosen a baked recipe, and if the top layer were to crack the blond might as well toss the whole cake out of the window. It was a balance of anxious fluttering about the kitchen, trying to make sure nothing was going wrong, and making sure Heijin and Heihyun still got to participate in everything.

"Can we put sweets on the top, Sungie?" Heijin requested as he waited for his brother to finish smoothing out the cheesecake. Jisung sighed; he wanted the cake to look immaculate, but deep down he reckoned Minho would be more moved by a treat that displayed his sons' personalities.

"Sure you can, we'll do it after we've baked it though."

The blond placed the cake tin onto a tray and guided it into the preheated oven, before heading back to the island. Heijin and Heihyun helped clean up and arrange the candy out ready to decorate the cheesecake with. Neither of them knew exactly why Jisung kept squinting through the glass of the oven, but they guessed as a baker he was making sure it would come out at the correct time. In the meantime, the brothers conversed on how they would arrange the sweets on top when it was ready.

"Okay so, what arrangement

do we want to do?"

"Hmm, oh how about dad and Sungie?!"

"Oo okay, wait go get your drawing

pad and we can make a proper plan."

Jisung was utterly oblivious to Heijin waddling past his turned back to retrieve his pencils and paper, too busy worrying about how the baked treat would turn out. The dark haired boy popped himself back onto the stool and set out his materials, holding a pencil between his finger and thumb. Heijin had always been the highly creative one, but knew Heihyun would be able to produce better ideas than him.

"I think we should just do their faces,

so add two circles on the plan."

"Okay.. and we have to give Sungie

blond hair and dad brown hair!"

"Mhm, oh how about milk chocolate

for dad's and white for Jisung's!"

"Ooh yeah yeah, great idea Hyunnie!"

Together they came up with a cognitive design, and felt pretty proud of it afterwards. The same could not be said for Jisung though. The cheesecake was finally done, and as the blond removed it from the oven, his heart sank deeper in his chest by around fifty feet. A long, promentant crack had cut right down to the centre of the cheese, ruining the crystalised top of it. Jisung wanted to cry at the sight.

"Why.. that recipe is faultless, why did fate have to curse me in this way?" Heijin and Heihyun heard the older's faint cries, both perring round to stare at the boy crouched on the floor over his cake.

"It's okay Jisung, we can always just cover it with the cake," the brunette piped up cheerfully. Jisung gave a sniff, nodding while still looking down upon his cake.

"Yeah.. yeah you're right." Carrying it over to the island the blond set the cheesecake down. At the same time he glanced at the drawing the two kids had been working on, scrutinizing it as he tried to figure out who the two guys were.

"What is the design of?"

"It's you and dad silly!"

Jisung's face flushed pink as his gaze wandered over the heart depicted between the heads of him and Minho, and soon his own heart could be heard ringing in his ears. They began working together to emulate the picture, using a range of sweets including chocolate, jelly beans and oreo cookies. By the time it was done it was already past one o'clock, and the finished cake looked actually spectacular. They had pulled off the execution of the design well, and weirdly it actually looked like Minho and Jisung.

The lot of them were rather hungry after all their hard work, and so the blond whipped up a few sandwiches for them to enjoy in the living room. "Did you two want to do anything else today?" Jisung asked through a mouthful of food. He watched as Heijin frantically whispered something to Heihyun, who gave an assuring nod. The brunette got up and left the room, his feet sounding on the steps as he made his way up stairs.

Heijin smiled at Jisung, who only raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Heihyun returned in no time and had what looked to be a few pairs of animal ears clutched in his hands.

"We wanted to give Sungie these." The younger commented, taking a set of ears from his brother. He then wandered up to Jisung and fixed the band on his hair, pushing it down against the fluffed up sandy locks.

"They're squirrel ears," Heihyun informed, "because we think if you were an animal, you'd be a squirrel!" He then put on a headband of his own, one fitted with pointy red fox ears, while Heijin wore bunny ears, of course. Jisung felt touched, and brushed his fingers against the soft fabric. Pulling out the phone, he checked out how they looked. Although they were reddish brown, and so did not match his hair tone whatsoever, they still looked great. Plus they made the boy look incredibly adorable.

"Awh thanks you guys, I love them,

can I keep them though?"

"Of course you can, I've been waiting to

give them to someone."

"Does, does your dad have

some by any chance?"

"Oh yes, he wears the cat ears."

Ugh that's fucking adorable. Jisung kind of really wanted to see the older brunette in them now; maybe he could convince him once he was home?

~~~
Minho fumbled lazily with the keys in the lock. He was so exhausted from work, mainly because he got an earful from Chwe about canceling the meeting he had. Sucks to be him because the brunette in all fairness cared a lot more at Jisung than his dumbfuck boss. Speaking of the blond, all Minho wanted to do now was to crash with him and his sons on the sofa for some dinner.
Eventually getting the door to open, the older made his way inside and to the living room. He could hear the sound of high pitched squeals and a squeaky voice, and as he rounded the corner he soon knew who they belonged to. Jisung, Heijin and Heihyun were all talking, only the oldest was putting on that funny voice he did in order to get the others to laugh.
"Having fun you lot?" Jisung almost jumped out of his skin at the sound of Minho's voice, and as the two made eye contact he hurriedly whipped off the squirrel ears from his head. The brunette's face fell, as did Heijin's, and not a second later he was beside Jisung trying to get the ears back on.
"You look so cute though! Why did
you take them off?"
"GAH OH MY GOD MINHO STOP NO-"
"bUT YOU LOOK ADORABLE
LEMME PUT THEM ON YOU!"
Heihyun and Heijin fell into fits of giggles as the blond was wrestling with Minho, who finally got the ears back into his hair. Satisfied, the older sat up, smiling as Jisung pouted
in protest.
"What's with the face, you look so cute with them." The younger blushed furiously, shuffling round so he didn't have to show his face to Minho.
"Dad Dad! We made you a treat." Heijin tugged on the brunette's arm, wanting him to come to the kitchen. At this Jisung hastily turned and got up, rushing into the kitchen to bring out the cheesecake.
"Surprise, it's for your promotion!" Minho's eyes looked like they contained the whole galaxy as he gaped at the beautifully handmade cake in the younger's hands. He stood up to get a better look, completely starstruck. The decorations on top formed a photo of two faces, one with whitish blond hair and the other with chocolate brown. The brunette didn't say a word, but he recognised who the people were supposed to be. What made everything even more special, was the little heart made of red gumdrops that hung between the two heads.
Jisung fiddled with his fingers on the underside of the plate. He was growing anxious at Minho's silence, the panic settling in as the younger wondered if he'd see the crack in the top layer. But then the brunette's blank stare cracked into a wide grin, and he moved his gaze up to Jisung's face. Both of them stared at each other, feeling that euphoric spark travel through the air and into their whole bodies.
"Thanks you guys, I honestly love
it, I'm just.. speechless."
"Were glad you like it dad, Jisung
did most of the work though."
"Did he really?"
Minho hadn't stopped staring at the blond; he could stare at him forever and would if he could make time stand still. There was just so much about him that was entirely flawless, from the stunning lightly tinted eyes that sat just above his round, blushing cheeks, to the way his knees knocked together whenever he stood still or sat down. It wasn't something the older had ever seen in anyone ever before, and he wanted to save it all for himself.
~~~

It was long after Minho had got back now. THe group had polished off nearly half the cheesecake during dinner time, and now Heijin and Heihyun were being put to bed. Jisung was sitting down stairs, lounged on the sofa and trying to get his heart rate to slow down even just a little bit.

The way Minho looked at him, the way his eyes scanned every minor detail of his face! It did something to the younger that he couldn't describe in words nor actions. There were a million reasons Jisung could think of to be in love with the older- his charming smile and aura that was so domestic and caring. The way he treated the blond like he was part of the family. How he never shunned Jisung for his young age, unlike how most other adults seemed to do, and acted as though he wasn't a stupid teenager at all. How he had him as one of his first priorities, and wanted to keep him safe at all costs. The list could go on and on for miles if Jisung had the time to count them, but before he could get fully submerged in his fantasies, Minho came back down into the living room.

Joining Jisung on the sofa, noticing how the younger still had a faint blush across the apples of his cheeks. He was also still wearing the squirrel ears.

"How tired are you, Sungie?"

"Hm? Oh, not too much despite

all the work today. Why?"

"Stay with me for a bit."

"W-What?"

Minho pulled the blond closer by the shoulders, causing him to fall rested by the older's side. Keeping his arm locked around Jisung's thin waist, the older managed to get a hold of the remote for the tv. "Let's watch a movie or something, we could continue 'It's it okay to not be okay' if you wanted?"

The blond kind of sat there for a moment in frozen shock, but snapped himself out of it hurriedly. Be confident, Han Jisung! "Yeah okay, I mean if you want to as well." Minho chuckled and turned back to face the tv. Meanwhile Jisung took the opportunity to snuggle even closer to the older, pressing his cheek against his chest despite it not being the most comfortable position.

Minho must've picked up on the small boy's fidgeting, because he subconsciously twisted his body until he was lying back against the base of the sofa with Jisung on top of him. The blond was so not used to doing something like this, but he went with the flow and pushed himself to show that he was comfortable with it. In truth he was, but you're always naturally awkward and unsure around someone you like.

"You warm enough Sungie?"

"With you I am, yes."

With his head on Minho's chest, Jisung could clearly hear the rapid beating of the brunette's heart as he said those words, and he instinctively wound his arms fully around his body and tangled their legs up.

The night drew on with the two watching the drama in a peaceful silence, cherishing the feeling of being so close to one another and savouring each other's scent and warmth. At some point Jisung felt his eyelids begin to struggle to stay open, but he didnt do anything to stop it. He soon fell into a deep sleep, hugging Minho even tighter as he mumbled strange noises in his slumber.

The brunette went to check on the younger, and found him cuddled against his chest with his eyes closed. Gentle snoring could be heard from the resting boy, and Minho nearly exploded with adoration as he allowed himself to just admire Jisung's cuteness. The ears still stood perked on his soft blond hair, and as the older started to grow tired himself, he leaned down to carefully kiss the top of the

smaller's head.

"I really love you, my Jisung, and I hope you know that."
