Third Person POV~
Lily doesn't even notice Alaric and Kaleb coming in, or MG grabbing Hope and speeding away. She's just worried about losing one of her sisters. She only notices her adoptive father when he takes Lizzie from her arms. "Dad-" she says in a shaky and teary voice as he caresses Lizzie's face.
"Don't cry, dad. One less mouth to feed." Josie says as she stands up, and Lily starts to cry. "No! Y-y-you promised this year w-wouldn't be like last year Lizzie... You h-have to wake up." she says as she sobs.
And Josie speaks, though her sister doesn't hear her, "Don't cry, Lily. If you really want to be with her-" Josie starts, and with a small flick of the wrist, Alaric and Kaleb Hear a sickening crack, and they watch Lily's head turn to the left before she falls to the ground. "Oh my God, Josie." Alaric says as he hands Lizzie to Kaleb and goes to check in his other blonde daughter. After checking for a pulse, he looks down before looking at Josie with tears starting to fall. "You killed her." he says and Josie tilts her head.
"Don't worry. She's part vampire remember. She'll wake up. At least I think. We never really thought too hard about it but her transitioning into a full heretic was always just theory." Josie says and then she leaves. Making Alaric and Kaleb grab the blonde girls and take their bodies to his office, setting them both on a couch.
"Dr. S. Do you think they'll wake up?" Kaleb asks as he looks at both sisters. "I really hope so." he answers before calling a mandatory meeting.

"This morning I told you that we would... All be okay. That we'd... Get Josie back." Alaric starts, choking back tears as he addresses his students. "I-I was wrong. Bed the Josie that we loved is gone. So is Lizzie... And-And so is Lily-" he continues

"How'd I do?" Alaric asks as he and Kaleb walk into his office where MG is sitting there watching the blonde sisters. "I bought every word of it." Kaleb tells him. "If Jed is right about the spy in our midst, hopefully, they did too." Alaric says as he looks over at his daughters. "It won't be long now, if it worked. As for Lily, it usually takes about two hours so, I guess we'll later tonight." MG tells the two.
Just after MG says this, Lizzie shoots up, taking a deep breath. Alaric smiles and leans down to hug his daughter, who hugs him back tightly. After a second MG joins the hug as well. "Gotta give it to Hope. Hell of a plan." Kaleb says as he watches them. "I love you guys." MG says. "Dad, what's going on?" Lizzie asks as they pull away.
"You're alive sweetheart. That's all that matters right now." he tells his daughter and Lizzie is still a little confused. "That means that I won. That I-I" "Josie is fine. She thinks she won. Hope had a plan B." Alaric says and MG goes to explain, "The potion that she made, wasn't just to keep your mind separate from Jo's. It linked your life to Landon's temporarily, so when you died, he died, too. But since he's immortal, you came back when he did."
"Hope thinks we can get Josie back." Alaric says and Lizzie scrunches her eyebrows together. "How?" she asks and Kaleb points to MG, that's where you boy MG there came in the clutch. Calm down." he says as MG spreads his arms out and laughs. "I helped Hope do an old-fashioned vampire head dive. That's why you had to go through with the merge. Hope needed Josie to be vulnerable. Josie's shields were down so I sent Hope into Josie's mind. And then I juked her out of there before anybody even knew what were doing."
"Why didn't anyone tell me or Lily?" Lizzie asks, slightly wondering where her sister was seeing as she didn't see her in the little circle. "Hope couldn't risk Josie finding out when your minds merged." Alaric says, his tone a little lower as he hears his adoptive daughter's name. "Plus, we knew you guys weren't gonna run away for real. Hero's have the day. Even when it hard, right?" MG tells her with a small smile.
"So... Hope's in... Josie's mind?" Lizzie asks and Alaric stands up. "Yeah. There's uh... More to that." Kaleb says as Alaric opens the secret room, showing Lizzie Hope asleep on a cot. "Lizzie. Until Hope brings Josie back, no one else can know you're alive. The Necromancer is spying on us so we have to play to his camera." Alaric tells her.
"Dad?" Lizzie starts, getting all three guys' attention. "Where's Lily?" she asks and she sees all their faces drop a little. " Where is she?" Lizzie asks in a lower voice as she watches their reactions. "Lizzie-" Alaric starts as he stares behind her. She quickly turns around and sees her sister on another couch on the other side of the office.
Lizzie quickly walks over, "Did you put her in Josie's mind too?" she asks but when she knees next to her, tears form inner eyes and she slowly shakes her head and grabs her sister's hand, noticing how cold it feels. "But... If you did... She would still be breathing... Right? So..." Lizzie turns her head around and looks at the three behind her who are looking at her with sad expressions. "No." Lizzie says and tears start to fall. "When I left with Hope, Lily was supposed to follow. But she didn't." MG starts and Alaric speaks up, "When she watched Josie wake up, she became disoriented. And she-" but he can't bring himself to finish his sentence.
"Oh, God." Lizzie starts and she begins to cry harder, turning back to look at her sister, and tightening her grip on her hand. "T-this is all my fault... S-she didn't want to come back here. She didn't want me or Josie to get hurt. But I-I chose to come back. She was only there because of me." Lizzie says as she sobs, the three men server shoulders shaking nonstop as she rests her head on Lily's unmoving chest.
"Lizzie. This isn't your fault. Josie, she's the one who broke her neck. She did this." MG tells her trying to somewhat comfort her. But she just shook her head before she sat up and wiped her tears with one hand, the other still not letting go of Lily's hand. "No. But it's okay. Because... Lily's part vampire. And she's gonna wake up soon... Right? She's gonna wake up. She has too." Lizzie says as she sits down and waits for her sister to wake up.

When Lily opened her eyes, she didn't know where she was. As she sat up and looked around, it looked like she was in the Salvatore crypt. "How the hell did I get here?" she says quietly as she stands up, brushes herself off, and goes to leave. When she walks out, she bumps into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry." she says quickly as the woman turns around. When the woman sees her, she freezes. "What the hell are you doing here?" "I'm sorry?" Lily asks with her eyebrows raised and she crosses her arms.
"You need to come with me. Now." the woman days and before Lily could respond she's being dragged away by the stranger. "Hey! This is kidnapping! I don't know you!" Lily yells as she tries to fight back but the woman is stronger than her.
Before she knows it, Lily is dragged into a house she recognizes. Her Uncle Damon's house. But instead of opening the door, they go through it, freaking the girl out. "What just happened?!" she shouts and the woman doesn't respond, instead, pulling her to the living room. "Stefan... We have a problem." the woman says as stops, making sure Lily is right next to her. Lily looks at the woman like she's an idiot. "My dad is dead-" she starts but stops when she sees her dad sitting there on a chair watching Damon.
"Dad?" Lily says and Stefan turns to her wide eyes and gets up. "Lily?" he asks and runs to hug his daughter. After hugging tightly, Stefan pulls away and holds his child by her shoulders, "Lily? What happened how are you hear?" he asks quickly and the young Salvatore shakes her head. "Um, I don't know, the last thing I remember is Lizzie and Josie merging, and Josie waking up. And then... Nothing. Dad? What's going on? And who is this chick? She basically kidnapped me and dragged me here." Lily says with a small glare making the woman laugh.
"Well she certainly is your daughter." the woman says and Stefan smiles at her. "Lily, this is my best friend, Lexi. She died before you were born." Stefan introduces the two, Lexi smirking at the girl as they make eye contact and she whispers "I'm the fun one." making Lily laugh a little. "Okay but that still didn't answer my other question." Lily says and Stefan looks away.
"Lily... If you're here... You're dead." at this, the girl freezes. "W-what?"

"I look so angelic. Peaceful even. No wonder you had a thing for me." Lizzie says as she looks at Hope's body they disguised as her. "That's not why I had a thing for you. And why are you speaking in the past tense you're totally alive." MG says and Lizzie ignores him. "That wreath can't go there. That is where the doves are being released, which is after the video, remember?" she tells him and moves to do something else.
"No, Lizzie. None of this matters, none of this real okay, it's just a show." MG says as he puts the wreath down. "A show to convince homicidal hottopic Josie think that she actually killed me. So it better be a damn good one. There's still so much left to do." Lizzie tells him and he looks at her like she's crazy. "If you're trying to play dead. Managing your own funeral defeats the point." "Way ahead of you there. That is what this, freakishly large ring is for." Lizzie says as she holds up the ring they stole from Clarke.
When she puts it on, Lizzie looks like Hope. "I'm unique and special, and for some reason, I'm really emo about it, and I'm annoyingly in love with Lily Salvatore. Now, wait here while I go sacrifice myself unnecessarily... How'd I do?" Lizzie asks and MG looks really confused as Alaric, Kaleb, and Jed walk in. "What is going on here?" Alaric asks in a hushed tone. "Hey daddy, " Lizzie says and Kaleb freaks out a little. "What is going on?" Alaric asks again, and Lizzie starts to explain, "I figured that since we're disguising Hope's body as me while she roots around in Josie's subconscious, that I could pretend to be her while she's gone. Wow, is she really this short?" she asks looking up and down.
"Elizabeth, " Alaric says but gets interrupted, "You need me to oversee the funeral." after a moment Kaleb speaks up, "Are we really gonna roll with this? Like this is gonna happen..." "Dad!... The emotion, has to be real. And who better to put together a touching memorial to me than... Me?" Lizzie says and it looks like no one really knows what to say.
"Uh... Sweetie, I think it's a great idea, but I just-- I think people are gonna... Figure it out." Alaric tells her and Kaleb makes a hand motion that says a little bit. "Yeah, he's right. The packs never gonna fall for this." Jed says, and as if summoned, some of the Salvatore wolves walk by behind them.
Lizzie takes this opportunity and walks over to them. "Ahem, hello there... Fellow wolves." she says and looks back at her dad. "So nice to see you again, Piper, Trevor, Brock." she says and smiles at the three. "Yo, we're gonna build a human pyramid later after the funeral, if you want to join." Brock tells her and she smiles, "I'd love to. And then maybe after we could run around outside, and stare at the moon for a while." Lizzie replies in a dream looking state. "Nice. Yo, you rock Hope." Brock tells her with a smile. "Back at you Brockmister." she says as they walk away.
Lizzie turns and looks at the boys with a I Told You look. "The defense rests." she tells them. "I have a question, why don't you just pretend to be Lily until she wakes up? You can just say that she completed the transition." Kaleb asks and Jed nods along. At this, Lizzie's face falls and she takes off the ring, making her look like herself again. "Because that's the problem. She should have woken up by now. I don't want to walk around pretending to be my sister when she might actually never wake up. That's cruel to me and everyone else." Lizzie says and Alaric looks at her with sad eyes. "Fine. But no doves." he says and Lizzie smiles and puts the ring back on, looking like Hope once more.
"Alright, you heard the man. We've got work to do." Lizzie says and she claps her hands before walking back to the arrangements.

"Has Lily woken up yet?" one of the witches asks Lizzie who's still pretending to be Hope. At the question, Lizzie sighs "No. She hasn't." she answers quietly. "Sorry to hear that." the witch says before changing the conversation. "You bringing anyone to the funeral?" she asks the other witch whose helping put flowers on the stair railings. "You guys are bringing dates to the funeral? Aren't you guys in like, mourning, or whatever?" Lizzie asks in a confused tone. "Over Lizzie?" the second witch asks.
"I thought she was pretty popular." Lizzie says and the first witch speaks up, "Because we were all scared of crossing her. It's kind of a relief to not have to worry about what crazy thing she's going to do next. Besides, it's not like she's gone. If the Necromancer brought drama queen Alyssa back, who's to say he can't bring Lizzie back too." "Unfortunately." the second witch says with an eye roll and the two laugh. "We need more ribbon." Lizzie says and she walks away.

"What do you mean I'm dead? I-I can't be-" Lily starts but then she remembers, and she lightly grabs her neck. "No. Y-you're right. Josie killed me right after she merged with Lizzie." she says and she looks at her dad. "But why haven't I woken up yet? I'm part vampire, I'm supposed to wake up and complete the transition." she asks and Stefan doesn't know what to say.
"I-I don't know sweetie. But, that was always a theory we had. We never knew if it was true... I guess it wasn't." he tells his daughter and as he notices her start to hyperventilate he pulls her into his chest hugging her and rubbing her back. After Lily calms down she pulls away, and then speeds away.
When she gets inside the school she looks around and sees that they're having Lizzie's funeral. So she sits on the stairs and watches. As a tear falls down her face, Lily jumps at the new voice next to her. "This isn't real." looking over, Lily sees Jo, the twins' bio-mom sitting next to her. "What?" Lily asks as Jo wraps and arm around the girl. "This is all just a show. Lizzie is fine. Your girlfriend had a plan B that kept her alive. She's wearing that ring the man Clarke had, and she's disguised as Hope while the real Hope goes in Josie's mind to get her back." Jo tells her and Lily sighs in relief that her sisters are okay.
After watching the ceremony, Lily wanted to go back and kick everyone's ass. "God how can they laugh?! They didn't even know the real Lizzie! They just care about the times she had issues and then laugh at her for it like everyone else doesn't have issues themselves!" Lily yells to herself after Jo walked and followed her daughter when she ran away, but shuts up once MG walks up to the podium. "I have something to say." he starts and everyone sits back down and shuts up.
"My first day here, Lizzie was my tour guide. Just like she was for most of you. I was so scared. And she knew it too. At the end of my tour, I mentioned... Hating my name, Milton. And she said 'So change it. No one here knows. How bout MG?' Remember that shock bracelet Lizzie had? Or when she was suddenly into, talent shows, and-and Miss Mystic Falls, and-and football? She was always trying to start over. And yeah, she could be extra, but she knew it. And, she never stopped trying to change. But did you all let her? Or did you all hold onto one image, of her at her worst? She was an easy target who couldn't control her brain chemistry. So it was easier to think that she was broken than to root for her and accept that she was changing. If you really stop, and think... I'm sure you have a good Lizzie story too. Here's your chance. Start over."
After MG finished, whispers we're going around, and Lily couldn't help but smile at her friend. After a second, the witch Lizzie spoke to earlier in the day came up. "I liked to sew, a lot. But there was no one else to do it with. When Lizzie found out, she started the sewing club-" "Are you doing okay Estrella?" looking up, Lily saw her dad standing next to her holding his hand out for her to take.
Grabbing it, they walk out to the lake. "I don't know. It's hard... To be there one minute and then with the snap of a finger you're just gone. I didn't get to say goodbye to anyone... And now I never will." Lily says as she tears up a little. "I know it's hard. But I'm here. And I'm not leaving." Stefan tells the most important person in his life.

After pulling the black magic out of Josie, Lizzie went to talk to MG at the docks.
"When you think about it, a eulogy is just a story that we tell ourselves about someone that we've lost. Since my friend MG is immortal, he may never get a eulogy. But I am now convinced that everyone should hear their own eulogy. So here goes. The story of MG. He was the son of a preacher and a shady government operative. He kept what was good from each, and let go of the bad. He had his own demons, but even when they chased him into the dark, he never stayed there. Instead, he danced like a sparkler and smiled like the sun. He wrote a new story every day and reminded me to always find the light. That's as far as I got. I don't know where the story goes from there." Lizzie says as she sits down next to him on the bench.
"Maybe it just hasn't been written yet I guess." he answers with a small smile. "Thank you for... Putting up with me today. I guess with all the stuff that happened with Josie... And Lily... I needed to feel... Less alone." Lizzie tells him and he nods, "I know." he answers and Lizzie puts a hand on his shoulder, "I should probably go and explain to everyone why I'm not really dead." as she says this, the witch from earlier speaks from behind them, "Lizzie? You're alive?" when Lizzie gets up and walks to them, the witches there pull her into hugs.

Soon after telling the group of witches how she isn't dead, Lizzie made her way to her room. On her way there, Josie and Alaric were speaking.
"Thank you, for not giving up on me. Even though I didn't deserve it." Josie tells him as she plays with a coin that's in her hand. "You know, one of the many joys of being your father is getting to see you slowly figure out how much you deserve. And one day, you'll realize that what you deserve is to never be given up on." Alaric tells her in a soft tone.
"Tell me that when the all-powerful Necromancer comes back." Josie tells him with a small nod. "We'll deal with him when the time comes. I'm not willing to lose another student." Alaric says, not meeting her eyes as he figures out when the right time is to tell Josie about her sister. Josie doesn't respond, instead, putting the coin she's holding in between her hands and muttering a spell, making her hands glow gold.
"I saw your biological mother do a spell like that once. Did you just?" Alaric starts and Josie looks at the coin, "I just, put my siphon power into this coin. Just... For a while. Till I'm ready to use it." she says and drops the coin in her piggy bank.
Right after, Lizzie walks in and looks at her sister sadly. "Jo..." she starts, getting her twin's attention. "There's something you need to see." Lizzie says and she walks to her sister, gently taking her hand and bringing her next door to their sister's room.
When Lizzie opens the door, they both slowly walk in, Alaric right behind his daughters. When Josie sees her sister laying on her bed, she walks over to her, "Is she okay?" she asks and reaches for Lily's hand. But when she does, she pulls away quickly at how cold the girl is. "Dad, what's, what's wrong with her?" Josie asks as she looks at her father, and neither Lizzie nor Alaric can meet the girl's eyes.
"Josie, honey, when you woke up after merging with Lizzie, Lily didn't leave and-" Alaric starts but pauses to choke back the tears that are threatening to fall. "I didn't-" Josie whispers as tears well up in her eyes. "And you broke her neck." Alaric finishes and he finally meets his daughter's eyes as she covers her mouth to quiet the sobs that started to escape. "I killed her?" Josie says, still processing what she's done.
Lizzie walks over and takes Josie's hand, "But it's okay. Because she's gonna wake up soon. She's part vampire, she has to wake up soon. It's just taking a little longer than normal because she's different." Lizzie says, trying to make Josie, and herself believe the words she said as they both cry and look at the sister's unmoving body.
"She has to wake up." Lizzie whispers once more, trying to convince herself more than anyone that her sister will come back.
(A/N)- A lot of you guys wanted either Lily or Hope to activate their vampire sides! And since Hope has her own storyline in the show, I made Lily die. (Spoiler alert, she's not really dead, don't worry)
But after putting in a lot and I mean, A LOT of thought into it, I decided that I'm indecisive and texted my friend, with literally no context what so ever, to pick yes or no, and you can guess it, she unknowingly picked Yes for me to kill Lily.
That's it for the season! Or at least what we have of it. Though, CW did give the green light for Supergirl, The Flash, and other Vancouver shows to start filming back up again in July, so hopefully, the shows that are filmed in Georgia, cough cough, this one, will get the greenlight too as well so we can get the last four episodes.
How did you guys like the chapter? Instead of doing the fairy tale part of the episode, since it's the same in the story, I put in Lily with her dad wherever it is they are, we'll just call it the other-other side.
